johnnie2g -> Jesus and The bad boy (7/10/2008 11:30:43 AM)

I heard that a lot of women are attracted to bad boys and they don't know why. If thats the case, why are women attracted to Jesus who is the nice guy?

The reason I'm asking this question because most of the good guys try to act like Jesus but , women think there to nice so they blow them off. we all know Jesus had emotions and he showed those emotion without sinning.

Jesus didn't act like a bad boy to attract people. He was kind, gentle, loving whats wrong with that in a man. God is the muscle for man because he fights are battles for us[:D]

What do you guys think?[&:]

Jesus is G-d. I'm not attracted to Him, I worship Him.

I think your question is essentially: why do women seem to blow off good/nice guys. In that case, there are dozens of threads here and in Singles on that very subject.

Jesus was a rebel. [;)]

He went all against the norms and customs of the day... even the "church" customs and the leaders of the "church" thought he was a "bad boy".

I think if he came today my parents wouldn't approve of him for me. [8D]

The Bad Boy theme again???

I agree, Jesus is kind, etc and strong and confident. And yes, a bit of a rebel. These are very attractive qualities.

I don't personally think that Jesus was the overly gentle soft guy he's made out to be. Jesus was a MAN. He told the truth, but He offended people. He got mad, He made a ruckus in the temple, He hung out with other men, went fishing, etc.

But anyway...I think what we have going on here is a problem with men who can't get a girl and instead of asking "Why can't I get a girl?" they would rather think "Women don't go for this kind of guy and that's the kind of guy I am."

(Not necessarily speaking directly to you, johnnie2g, but we've had a lot of "bad boy" threads of late.)

I agree! I'm not attracted to God. He's my heavenly Father. Do I love him? With all of my heart.
(:

Bad boys are exciting, they seem interesting, and some women think their lives are blah so they go to the excitement. But then the bad boy calls them names and slaps them up the wall, and then they're sorry.

But yes. I agree with stellaluna.

EXACTLY!

Why are girls attracted to that? Only God knows.

Keep in mind though it's not so much that a woman is attracted to a man who rebels, but that he is passionate and willing to stand up for what he knows is right.

Plus a bit of spontaniety and some mystery keeps things interesting [;)]

I agree.

Women think men are supposed to be strong which I suppose is true.

Sometimes our culture can kind of mess up in our heads what strong means though.

Or we think any cause he's passionate about is good, even if the cause isn't really a good cause.

Yes it is!

I keep insisting that for us to be in agreement we need to have a common definition of the word bad. I don't know any women who go seeking and looking for bad guys to date. I know of women who unintentionally end up in relationships with abusive men and then find it difficult to escape his clutches.

Anyway in terms of Jesus: He is my Lord and Saviour - I'm not attracted (romantically) to him, I praise and worship him.

Secondly, Jesus was a rebel, not a good boy. He ruffled quite a few feathers of those in the upper echelons of society. Yes, he was a good person and his heart reached out to people. But look at who his closest friends were: tax collectors and fishermen. We can't hold this against Him, after all his purpose in coming was to reveal to others the kingdom of heaven and the love of His father.

So, the word bad hmmmmm ... everything is relative to context.

losgan -> RE: Jesus and The bad boy (8/17/2008 6:33:06 PM)

Interesting question!

I think ebony101 has said pretty well what I was thinking. Jesus was a rebel, He fought against the old ways of doing things just to do them that were trampling on the common person. He was willing to stand up for, and die for, what He believed - and for us!

So, in some ways - the nonconformist males (many of whom happen to be "bad boys") have an appeal. For myself, I've found that a nice, Christian man who doesn't mind stepping on a few toes to say what needs to be said, and who does things in a new in different way, is very attractive to me. Now, if only I knew why I wasn't attractive to them!

I honestly think it may be that they are so focused - they aren't looking. But that's another topic altogether so I'm gonna stop ;)
