Wskybtl -> What word has God given you??? (7/3/2008 5:16:51 PM)

I was sitting around thinking, I know, that normally means trouble, but I did it anyway. O how I was thinking how great it would be to be able to just ask all these people, who have studied the Bible for years, what would be the one thing above all, that God has revealed to them, that they would want to share with those they love. The most important piece of information that they could help someone with. That they think is a subject for study etc..

I was thinking about the Scripture where it mentions that one would be given a word of knowledge, another a word of wisdom etc.. I would love it if those who would, could give us a word. It is important that we hear each other. So this is your moment to speak, to reveal what God has shown you to all those who are seeking. Lets work together and see what we have gathered from the oracles of God (the Bible).

Let’s keep it simple, short, and to the point. [:)]Please, speak in your own tongue. We have all read the Scriptures. Scriptural evidence is ok, but be sure to explain it in lay terms if you would. Thanks, I await your insight, wisdom, knowledge etc..[8|]

I awoke one morning to the Lord speaking this to me:

What IS is not wrong.

That statement has made a huge difference in my life. We can fight and struggle with things in our lives. . . this shouldn't be, this is so wrong, I don't like this, etc, etc, etc. But if IT IS, He has allowed it. So I need to accept what is as from Him (not that He chose it for me but allowed it for me and my good) so I need to deal with it, thank Him for it, and live loving Him and others as He has commanded. It is not easy. But it is His way.

***Behold the Lamb of God***

My applying that scripture to my life, by God's grace, has been the the most important difference in my life...including before I became a Christian and, even more so, after I had been a Christian for a number of years....

The Lord has used Phil. 4:6-7 to really show me my responsibility in having the peace that surpasses all understanding. He has placed it on my heart to pray with thanksgiving, in the midst of difficulty it is so easy to forget to be thankful. Bless you all.[:)]

I have thought about Phil. 4:6, where it is written “Be careful of nothing”, often wonder why that is there. What He meant by it. Any further insight?

One cannot devoid it from the Master's teaching which says:

Mat 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Mat 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Mat 6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
Mat 6:28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
Mat 6:29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Mat 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Mat 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Mat 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Mat 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Learning it by experience now....[&:]

Perhaps a better rendering is "be anxious for nothing". (NASB)

ta_mosquito -> RE: What word has God given you??? (7/4/2008 10:18:30 AM)

Careful - "full of care". A good interpretation is to be worried or anxious or fretful.

"Be careful of nothing" does NOT mean to not wear safety goggles or refuse to wear a seat belt. [;)]

Wskybtl -> RE: What word has God given you??? (7/4/2008 5:34:34 PM)

When God gives us a word, it is normally so we can see it in a different light. Making it even easier to understand and explain. Let’s take; “keep my commandments”. We are told to keep commandments by many churches. But I never heard of one who will tell you that The Sermon on the Mount is the commandments of Jesus. Although the Bible don’t say it, it is implied simply by comparing Jesus with His Father.

You know how God stood upon the mount and spoke His commandments to Israel? Then Jesus stood upon the mount and spoke His commandments, just as His Father did.

Then it is written in Deuteronomy, what God wanted Israel to do with His commandments. Jesus tells us to “keep” His, just as He kept His Father’s. So we are left with the impression that we are to wear the commandments of Jesus upon our forehead and hand, just as Israel wore God’s.

And while I am here, though new and don’t how many do keep Jesus’ commandments, I want to pat all who has on the back. I know how hard it is when they laugh, claim you are trying to earn your salvation, some has even been removed from the churches. Stay gathered in Jesus and don’t let them talk you out of the love of your Father. Remember to pray for those having a hard time keeping commandments.

I know it doesn’t sound hard, but most schools refuse to let children wear hats. Once we are shown to “keep” commandments, it seems we run into allot of obstacles and difficulties. It takes a true love to keep them. Maybe that’s why He said, If you love me keep my commandments.

May God go with us all Amen

Actually, Jesus of Nazareth sat. He did not stand during the Sermon on the Mount[;)]

Point taken. Thanks[;)]

What do ya think He was doing in Revelation while talking to John?

lol....

I have no idea. I am not a student of Revelation, except perhaps the messages to the churches and the part about Heaven.

Otherwise, I gloss over[8D]

I have never been able to figure out why when Pastor teaches on the Book of Revelation, why the church packs out....

Newine59 -> RE: What word has God given you??? (7/6/2008 5:01:53 AM)

He told me "this is not your home" This made such a difference to me! It freed me to really LIVE for Christ here. It made me realize that I'm just a legal immigrant here on earth. Legal, because my Father owns everything, and therefore can provide for me while I'm here, an immigrant because this is NOT my home, my home is really in heaven.
I'm just here on a temporay visa, per se, on a job for my Father. I was in an accident with a four wheeler after this revelation and while it was happening I wasn't the least bit afraid, NOT AT ALL! I had complete peace! This fleshly body is just a suit of clothes for my soul. I think I know now that we have already died once spirtually and been born again to NEVER die again! The flesh is nothing! It wears out, wrinkles, gets holes in it, spots, just like clothes. We worry too much about our bodies and not enough about our souls. Do you guys notice how Jesus seemed more concerned about peoples souls when he did his miracles? Anyway, sorry this is so long, and I'm not even a preacher! [;)]

dduuggyy -> RE: What word has God given you??? (7/15/2008 3:51:39 PM)

I totally concur with your comments (Newine) and they are perfectly stated and hoping that you and all of us stay on course and understand thoroughly that everything that we see and experience is all temporary...ie...material items which constrain so many of us.... the wisdom that GOD have given me is to be able to see our world system from the spiritual eye....the greed of man which has led us into this national financial crisis unfortunately not many will agree with this statement but the Bible speaks the prophesy as we are living it now. Blessings to all.

Early in my conversion to Christ i 'heard' I love you my child. At that time i was wondering and desapointing that He didn't call me by my name. But later i learned the true meaning of this and there is not a single day that i'm not saying to myself How wonderful, i'm a child of God! I'm a child of the almighty God! Wow. It's awesome.

During a particularly difficult time in my life(which was caused by my own stubborness and disobedience) God spoke to me
I'LL DO GREAT THINGS FOR YOU, IF YOU JUST BELIEVE!
ETA: He then led me to Hebrews ch 3 and 4

2 Corinthians 12:7-10

7To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Really helps me when i feel weak

Shumby -> RE: What word has God given you??? (7/27/2008 5:51:38 PM)

Something occurred a few days ago, which I would like to share. I had ordered a hamburger, fixed exactly to my specifications; but, when I picked up the order-to-go and got home and checked it, there was no bun. Well, I was a bit disgruntled, so I called them and told them that I was gonna drive back (about a quarter to half of a mile, I would imagine) and pick up the bun. When I got to the window, there was a short wait, and I was thinking in my mind: wouldn’t it be nice of them to give me a drink for my inconvenience. Well, shortly, because the two cars ahead of me finally moved, she handed me the bun in a sack. And almost immediately with the other hand, she presented me with a large Dr. Pepper (the kind I always get), saying it was a gift from them because of the error they had made. Needless to say, I was elated, and I remembered a passage in the bible that said something like “God will give us the desires of our heart.” As I meditated on this scripture I thought: it says the DESIRES of our heart, not our prayers, or requests. I had only THOUGHT ABOUT IT, DESIRED IT, and the Lord stood by his promise. I had never thought of that passage in that light, so I consider that enlightenment. I was truly blessed.

>"Reality is relative."
It may be more philosophical than spiritual but it came to me as a meditative thought one day.
In essence it means that those who live in and around the lower class setting only seeing that side of society day after day will usually have a much "lower" outlook on life. Whereas those who are only around like-minded people with similar interests and higher in spirits and well-being will be a lot more optomistic for the most part. In other words,"reality" is not one-sided as some might think,no matter how bad or how good it gets,it is what it is,simply put.

WhiteCloud7 -> RE: What word has God given you??? (8/5/2008 3:21:21 AM)

I remember driving home from work one evening and asking the Lord if we could just throw the book of my life away and just start over. He replied, "I cannot do that, for your salvation's in it, and I take you for better or worse, that's how much I love you". I felt humbled, loved and appreciated.
