That is not only cool; but, incredible.

But, all it would do for me is to give me the opportunity to crash two model planes at one time instead of just one, which is my normal modis operandi!

Those guys are great pilots. That take-off of the B-29 was a thing of beauty. It was so smooth.

Handling the X-15 at the moment that the rocket fires is probably quite a handful. It's got to be perfectly balanced at the moment it fires or it would be an instant ditch digger.

I can do all of those things with a Helicopter... but, just one at a time, just before it plows into the ground!!! [:D][:D]

I have the Great Planes G4 simulator and I have YET to be able to fly a helicoptor more than a few minutes before turning it into a kit! On rare occasions I can keep it in the air for a bit; but, the end is always the same.... little pieces flying all over the field. I don't know how those guys do it.

How do you like the G4 Simulator. I haven't tried that yet. I do have M$ and X-Plane 9 sims.

I love flying it. When I actually fly R/C, which has been a while, I use electric for a variety of reasons. One is that I was at a field where a plane came apart in midair and crashed within inches of hitting my nephew. At the speed it came in and the weight of the engine, it could have eriously hurt him. So, I decided to move to electric power mostly for safety reasons. That was years ago when 'real men' ridiculed electric power.

So, I'm very happy to see how far electric power has become. It's even among the choices in the G4 simulator.

I find that using it is very close to the real thing while being able to add obstacles and 'gaming' kinds of actions for fun. I really love doing things that I would be very hesitant to do with a real plane for fear of not being able to recover and having to use up a bottle or two of glue! And, I also like being able to take off and immediately perform stunts that might otherwise be riskly. So, while it's possible to learn some bad habits as well as good ones, for the most part it is very helpful.

Of course, my young granddaughters like to grab the stick and force me to crash. For some reason the site of wings and airplane parts careening around a field is the best part for them!

The best real-world simulator that I ever used was completely non-visual. It was called IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) and ran on a Commodore 64. You could actually learn to trust your instruments to take off from one city, fly through a canyon and land in another city strictly on instruments. I went up with a cousin while he was having an instrument lesson and he had a LOT of trouble trusting his instruments. But, I had absolutely no trouble following the instruments and accepting what they were saying about the plane's orientation. It was a great game. The other sim that I liked was called JET, where you could fly off a carrier. It ran on the PC.

The Microsoft Simulator has a built-in lag time that might be great for private plane flying; but, for R/Cs, with their almost instant response time, the G4 is much more realistic.

Thanks for the info TMeeks. I'm going to see if can get it from one of the hobby shops around here. Oh and the little ones they are such a joy. Great idea flying electric planes. here is a link to the club I belonged to years ago.
