We just saw that movie on Monday. Dd had recently read the book. I won't spoil it for you, it was a cute movie. I even had a few tears toward the end.

I have a problem here. Rebekah has very red and irritated skin on her inner thigh. She doesn't want to go pee because it hurts if it touches. I am having to help her with her pottying right now. I have her on acidophelous. She is getting baking soda baths every night. It is hot and humid here and her sweatiness is not helping. I have tried aloe and e lotion with no affect. I don't want to use diaper rash stuff because I have had bad experiences with those with my eldest when he was a baby and don't want to risk hurting her worse. Any ideas? VBS is coming up and I am getting concerned about her being able to be comfortable there as well. We rarely have ever dealt with "diaper rash" that didn't come from antibiotics or diareah. I am not very experienced with this.

I am sure that you have had tons of answers by now...but I'll give you my two cents anyway.

cornstarch on the thighs....yes...the cornstarch out of your cupboard...lightly dust her thighs (and only her thighs) with it. YOu can use a cotton ball to apply it.

never thought I would ever say this to WOF, but....sorry but I have to disagree...studies and every web site I have ever read says the opposite...that corn starch will make it worse because it feeds the YI. I use corn starch on all diaper and other rashes, so I am all for corn starch (though the best kind is the kind sold for ironing...in powder form)...but with every YI one of us has ever had, corn starch made it worse.

Church tonight-

I actually mentioned that I got a good nights sleep last night during the praise part of the service. Late during the prayer request section the lady sitting directly behind me mentioned her unsaved nephew going to pre-deployment training and needing God to put a Godly man there with him and that he leaves Sept 1...

Only ONE North Carolina unit with a September 1 date folks.

talk about a God thing. I called jerry and told him. he said he'd look up his information tomorrow that he likely was not there yet- i said nope she told me he leaves for where jerry is this weekend.

That is a blessing.

So Neat Ez!!! We've always say God uses the military to put us where he wants us!!

Praying for everyone who is tired, sick, worn out, needing rest, dealing with unruly kids & bad attitudes! I think I can sympathize with each of those in the past week!

Thanks! That is me!!

Also could use some prayers for trusting God right now in our time of transition... I feel like my faith is wavering a little... too much uncertainty... I need to trust God's timing, not my own. Thanks again!!

I did not realize that it was YI based rash. If it is YI...then the burned flour treatment would work...it will not feed the YI. (you take flour and 'toast' it in a frying pan until it is slightly golden {more golden than usual if whole wheat} and then use it as you would powder or cornstarch). It will absorb the sweat and moisture and keep the thighs from chafing on top of the rash.

You can also wash the area with diluted apple cider vinegar (1 part vinegar to 1 part water)...it often will work better than baking soda baths....it just depends on her PH level in her skin/sweat and oil.

now those methods I can agree with...both of them (esp the "burned" flour..I know that works good from experience. Where I grew up, right by cajun country, that method is used quite often because everyone there knows how to "burn flour".)

I definately agree with the burned flour thing. I discovered that with my youngest and even used it on my niece.

Hi All!! I have to wake the boys up in 1/2 hour or 45 minutes. I feel bad because they really need some sleep, but they are going to the police gun range to shoot black powder rifles! I'm sure they'll have fun even though I know they won't want to get out of bed! A (our English scout) had a great time at youth group last night. He came home saying he wanted to stay here because we have a basketball court at our church (it didn't hurt that all the girls thought his accent was so cute! )! We are going to the pool this afternoon & have a dinner & Court of Honor tonight. Tomorrow is our last organized trip (that I'm in charge of) and then we are going to go back to the laser tag/arcade place so A can spend the rest of his tokens (they won't do him much good in England)! We're supposed to go out to eat too & somewhere in there do his laundry & get him packed up. We have to have him at the airport at 5:20AM on Saturday! I'll be sad to see him go, but glad when it's all over!

Good Morning, I am up with the sun..... well, I am up with the rain and dark clouds. A perfect day to catch up on some zzzz's and I can't sleep.

I'm still crabby... don't know why. I'm wondering if I am catching a bug. My lower back aches, which always happens when I get sick, I'm tired but can't sleep and I'm chilled.

Ellie, Noah was getting YI rashes constantly for a while. The doc. gave me Clotrimazole Cream and it cleared it up instantly.

I put on a pair of 12 months clothes on Noah last night and they were about an inch to small!!! This kid literally went from 6-9 months to size 18 months in in less than 3 months!!! Wow!!! Maybe this is why he wants to nurse so much! And here I was worried that his Syndrome was affecting his growth (which can happen)... I guess that worry can be thrown out!

Hope you're feeling better soon Annie & that you're not coming down with a bug! Glad Noah is growing well!!

The guys was almost 45 minutes late picking the boys up! I guess I was irritated mostly because they really could have used an extra 1/2 hour of sleep! Oh well, I know they'll have fun!

My DH took my two oldest with him to visit someone in the hospital. I am so glad he took them. I hate to say that I am sick of my kids.... but in some ways I am. They are exhuasting me! Their little opinions are doing it.... if I say something is red, they will say it is blue.

I am trying a blog, too. Just started it this morning since I woke up so early with nothing to do (yea right)

Not that I know of.

Question for all you bloggers.... since I am new..... I am trying to change some wording in my blog. It looks like I am doing it right, but then when I hit "view blog" to see if the changes took place, nothing has changed. I am "editing posts", then publishing.

okay, ignore that last question. I guess it just takes a little time for it to edit itself. When I looked just now, it was edited.
