Yes, it is the Feast of Tabernacles, and Ohio and Ontario isn't that far away.

Ezri,

Oh, well that explains why I heard that this is true and also why it is no longer true. Very good.

Also, sorry about the beau problems. As you know, things didn't work out here either. LOL!

We had only allowed Michael and Sam to declare themselves an item for 2 weeks when they began making plans to run away and get married!

*sigh* That sin nature is a big problem....

This is the second day in a row I have been down. However, I took a hydrocodone when I went to bed last night, because I had had a headache all day long and I can't get to sleep when I have one, and I got about 9 hours' sleep and don't remember any dreams. So thank you for praying.

I am going to shower now or I might stay in my nightgown moping all day long.

This is . . . no lie . . . a call we just got - my child (3 mos old) is putting her finger in her mouth? Is that normal?

That is downright scary. Do you ever refer people to parenting classes? I'm not big on the parenting classes offered by the state, but that parent is truly in need of some foundational guidance on child development.

Ezri, I'm sorry for what Trill is going through, but am glad she is working through it in a godly manner. These things can either tear down or build. It appears that Trill is being built and strengthened. Praise the Lord.

Jen, hope you are feeling better. I need to get back on my B's and the like.

Jerry called at lunch-

he had talked to the fella that took his place as Chairman of the deacons at the old church.

At the end of the selected representative of the 1/3's rant one of the past deacons simply asked her if the chairs were a part of worship. She actually said yes. The man that is currently chairman of the deacons told Jerry that the gasp from the deacon board was audible. She immediately realized what she'd said but then went into defense and manipulation mode.

Jerry told our friend that he was sorry that it took our leaving to bring it to this but it does seem that the deacons and their families are acknowledging the problems within the church and actually standing up.

Yeah, since my job ended I really haven't been taking my vitamins. I know that is part of the problem. I have trouble caring about it three times a day, though.

Ezri, Hopefully they will follow through and do something serious about the problems. It doesn't seem like it should be that difficult to come against a bunch of old ladies. Sorry to put it so bluntly, but really that seems to be the crux of the matter.

Jennifer, You have got to take care of yourself. You are the most important person in the lives of two young men who need a healthy mother.

Shadow, Thank you for the prayers for VBs. It went really well. I did have to take one child aside and be stern with him. I talked to him mom later and told her that I thought I scared him beause he doesn't remember who I am. When i told her what I said to him, it was the same speach that she had just given him this morning. She said that THAT was what scared him. LOL! He probably thinks that his mother and I are getting together to come up with the same speech.

Ez, that is too funny. I an just picture that Gasp. Give Trill a hug for me. I am so proud that she isn't letting him tilt her lovely, level head.

Here's a question for you all: How do you pluralize a name that ends in "es"

As in something like Frances? I would either say "The Frances Family" or "The Frances' would like ... "

Yeah, it's something like that. I think I will use Frances as a substitute for the actual name. Frances' would be the possessive though. The family whose little boy just had surgery is getting meals from the church. I was trying to type "Franceses" but that looked funny. I just used their first names. Part of the problem with that is the woman has a name that could be spelled a couple ways. She spells it one way. We have another woman with that name in our fellowship group who spells it differently and I can never remember which is which. I should just use the Frances Family.

Yeah ... I didn't know what context you were wanting, so I put both ... in case it was something like "The Frances' would like to extend a thank you to all involved blah blah blah" But in your case, Frances Family would probably fit best ...

I was emailing with someone else about arranging meals. Our fellowship group is trying to do a lot of it. My budget is really tight right now but I'm a SAHM (at least most of the day). Our YP and his wife both work but have more money. We worked out a plan where I cook and they pay for it.

Names don't follow the regular rules. Like, one Jenny, two Jennies is wrong--it's two Jennys. And I know that you can drop the 's' after the apostrophe on a name that ends in s...so, Frances' and Frances's are the same.

But if it were the Frances FAMILY, then I would say that rather than attempting to pluralize Frances.

I know that if you have two Miss Jones then you get the Misses Jones.

Is that enough nonessential info for now? I need to take my vitamins...LOL

That makes my brain hurt...

Speaking of brain/Brian, has anyone heard from Donna? I know there was a link to another thread, but I don't remember where that was.

I am so tired! i've been napping almost every afternoon. I'm actually taking tomorrow as a rest day--only a short swim. I asked my coach for the day off. I think he nearly fainted that I'm asking for a rest day!

It's in Personally For You. Brian is confused and combatant and she is having to stay by his side 24/7.

That is correct. It is not a plural. It is a family. Now if you had two families over for dinner and they were both named Frances, you would say you were having the Franceses Families over for dinner. However, it would make more sense to the listener if you said you were having both Frances Families over for dinner.

I will just take this moment to remind everyone, offenders and non-offenders alike, of my pet grammar peeve, lol. An apostrophe NEVER MAKES ANYTHING PLURAL.

One mom, two moms. Not two mom's. I saw that in about five successive posts in a thread the other day.

And I do try to put a punctuation mark at the end of my sentences, even if I am following that sentence with an emoticon, just for Donna's peace of mind!

I just have to say God is so awesome. I was just blessed with curriculum books the teachers edition and the children's book for all four of my little monkeys.

Thanks Jenny. That does relieve some of the knots in my stomach. I was good until I got the intent to home school form for the state then I got scared. At least now my parents are taking me serious that I really am gonna ruin my children. I finally told my mom what harm can I do in a year.
