OH that's cool. Yeah, there's just something about a clean house that makes you feel much better. I plan to start as soon as I get home, otherwise I'll get sleepy and it WILL NOT get done.

Sounds like a pretty cool mag.

And yes, sounds like Lisa needs to plan a Lisa day.

Think of the interstates - I10, I75 and I95. I10 runs east/west through the panhandle. In the panhandle, anything to the south of I10 is NOT southern (meaning, it's all transplants from the north).

Honey Child, I was born in Florida, and I am a Southerner. Just because I live on the south side of town doesn't make me a Yankee transplant.

Oh good grief, Skrey. You are about a quarter of a mile south of the Interstate. I don't think she necessarily meant geographically.

Speaking as a Northerner stuck in the South her assessment is pretty spot on. The further south you get of our town the more northern it feels and the further north you get of our town, the more southern it feels.

I was wondering how much you got from the system.....figured you'd get some - especially as it was winding down and expanding. Glad you got some.

RE: Habanera. That was funny not just because it was funny, but because I sang Habanera this last spring as part of my repertoire!

Ha! Perfect! Glad you liked it. (And I had bork...borkbork bork stuck in my head the rest of the day! )

By the way, your button avatar cracks me up. I feel like that's the theme for the day on some mornings!

Here's some YouTube awesomeness I stumbled on this afternoon. Hopefully 'twill bring a smile to those who need it!

Ode to Joy

Habanera

Muppet Show Star Wars Episode (Part 1)
Part 2
Part 3

Enjoy!

-Robb

I enjoyed them immensely. Thank you! (Love the new avatar!)

You're welcome! And thanks! I'll probably keep it for a little while then go back to normal. Although I might give him an "I <heart> NY" cap in honor of my vacation when I get around to uploading pics to my Photobucket account. (I have nearly 4000 pics and videos to sort through, so picking out the highlights will take some time!)

How do you put a cap on Beaker? It would either have to sit on top of his hair, or smash it down, but either way, you can't hide that hair!

Maybe a t-shirt?

what is debian?

I'm glad you asked. hehehe
"Debian is a free operating system (OS) for your computer. An operating system is the set of basic programs and utilities that make your computer run. Debian uses the Linux kernel (the core of an operating system)...

Debian ... provides more than a pure OS: it comes with over 18733 packages, precompiled software bundled up in a nice format for easy installation on your machine." -- from debian.org
It's a free alternative to MS-Windows(tm) for the PC. It's available for other architectures, like Sparc, Alpha, and PowerPC.
It's a metadistribution of Linux, so it has all the same benefits: multiuser design (files have permissions based on who owns them), modular construction (having access to run some things doesn't give you, or programs you run (intentionally or not) free reign over the machine), peer-reviewed (anyone can check the source code to find and fix bugs, vulnerabilities, etc.), free (free as in cookies and free as in speech, anyone can modify the source to fit how they want their individual machines to run), stable (because the peer-review process squashes most bugs very quickly), secure (your browser (almost?) can't take over your machine when you run as a normal user, and you usually run as a normal user), and reliable (It's not uncommon for machines running Debian stable to have uptimes exceeding 30 days (and often exceeding 100 days without a reboot)... My LAN server has currently been running for 5 days, 22:12 (Since I got back from being out of town)).
Screenshot of Koko, my laptop
Screenshot from a user who prefers bells&whistles to lightweight
I hope this helps. If you want more information, post in the computers area and point me to your post. I'll talk as long as you want about this wonderful computing experience.

Um, it's chat; you were asked a question; you responded.

No need to hide - you did what you were asked.

Oh man, oh man. So much to respond to...I guess I will respond to what I remember...

:-o!!! I didn't know you couldn't have thunder without lightening...

Thanks for explaining Debian. I'm not a computer knowledgeable person myself...at least not to the extent of talking about it...and holding an intelligible conversation..

No rain today. Stink!!! Jesus will have to come a different way! ;)

Again...that depends on where you go. You'll find it more in the panhandle then you will in the peninsula. You know?

And to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of Southern hospitality so I generally shy away from it anyway.

Hey! Why can't I say that Texas isn't part of the south but the Floridians can? It's an injustice, I tell ya.

TX ISN'T part of the south - it's a mix of EVERYTHING - just depends on what part of TX you're talking about.

There, feel better??????

(sorry I had to go to sleep and miss all the fun - we could have run with this line of thinking - for a while! LOLOLOL)

Much better!

yea, I would have to say that southern accents are quite awful for the most part...

I'm a northerner tho and I can't understand half of what some southerners say sometimes. Especially my brother in laws brother, from Alabama...most times I think he is a girl...

His name is Daniel and I think he is saying Susan...serious

And I would love to have a date too...with some young man...

My posts probably look like randomness because I don't like to take the time to copy things in and respond to them...
