Digital cameras are awesome. Just make sure to buy from a manufacturer known for making good cameras. Like Canon, Nikon, etc. I have a Canon and am very happy with it. For $100-$200 you can get a very nice point & shoot with zoom that has sufficient resolution to make 8x10 prints if you so desire.

SLRs are nice if you really want to get serious about photography. Far more control, higher-quality lenses, etc. But they come with a learning curve and cost more. For most people a point & shoot is fine.

True enough! Even my dinky little 3.2 megapixel p&s can take nice pictures. It's all about the person behind the camera.

Proclaiming ignorance...What's an SLR? Single Lens Resolution? Simple Learning Requirement? Shoot Like a Robot?

Single Lens Reflex. When you look through the viewfinder, you're looking through the camera's actual lens. A little mirror flips up out of the way when you take the picture so the light goes to the film instead of your eye.

It's going slowly right now... it's just waiting on me to get more information and well, I just have to find the time.

LOLOLOL!!!

Well there's a controversial discussion! *giggle*

I think for some people prison works and for others its merely another place to create havoc.

Hey, Rosie, y'know until about a year ago I didn't know you and I shared names!! So I just always call you Rosie! It just fits 'cause you're always so Rosie!!

As far as prison, I think it depends on the person... some people are deterred by prison but some are not. For some, it's a way of life. Others will say "I'm never going back there again" but they don't change their lifestyle and eventually they go back. I dunno... this is just what I see (I used to work in a prison and many of my clients today have been in prison before).

Exactly! I'm actually adamant about using am or pm. Everything at hospice is military time. I'm used to it.
