why am i still single? hhmmm....well for starters i am still establishing my relationship with god so i figure he wants me to work on that before finding a man. on top of that i just moved here 2 months ago so i know no one. no friends..no nothing. and im getting ready to transfer schools and start going full time so i wont even have much time to meet anyone. but anyhow that is why i am single and lately i often find myself wishing i were not. but i guess god has his plan and who am i to question him...so i just keep hoping and praying the right person will come along for me.

I know it's totally shallow of me, but I so often believe it's because my looks are going.
Ok so maybe I'm having a bit of temper tantrum

I'll be praying that God helps you to not get down about this anymore! God made everyone beautiful in their own way, no one can really define what beauty is since we were each made as an individual by God!

Interesting that you should mention this, because I was just talking to someone about something similar this morning. I've been doing a bible study that you might find interesting if you can get your hands on it. It is called "Loving Your Body: Embracing Your True Beauty in Christ" by Dr. Deborah Newman (it is a Focus on the Family book). I've never seen a bible study quite like this - that not only talks about scripture, but also about the source of our body image (societal pressure, media etc.). I think the main thing that I've learned is that beauty is tri-fold - that what makes a woman beautiful is not a body untouched by gravity  , but also the emotional and spiritual parts - the inward beauty that shines outward. They both work together - hand in glove - so that a woman is beautiful. Jesus is so beautiful and attractive, and when He - who lives inside of you - shines forth - through your own unique and beautiful personality as well as your physical self - it can be breathtaking. I was also impressed by the woman in the song of solomon - that her opinion of herself changed - not because she got a chemical peel or a face lift, but because she came to see herself as her beloved sees her.
I know that this is a serious reply to what was probably a bit of a joking comment, but I wanted to respond this way - to tell you that you are indeed beautiful no matter the age - because beauty is so much more than the external - yet we can also learn to love and embrace the external as well.

I don't believe in dating for the sake of satisfying this culture,I don't believe in dating for the sake of dating.
I will remain single until I am ready to court/marry...
I wouldn't mind a close female friend in a year or two to start hanging out with though in hopes that if she would indeed be my wife,we would have become best friends first.

Thanks Jesuschick, I need the prayers. I'm comparing myself today to what I think I should be which is me 20 years ago. In my head it's like no time passed!

Thanks so much rgod and I willllllll look up that bible study! I made this comment in a jesting manner, but there's too much of truth in it. Some people age well, I was a child of the world in all the worst ways in my 20's so I'm reaping I suppose. But of course I got more fish to to swim my way when I was younger and my face was more securely attached to my skull I need to hear the advice and wisdom you guys have (and am glad you are here to give it) and remind myself 'I am His precious child, I am His Precious child'

Good question. We'll,I'll probably be single for quite awhile now,as I just got out of a long relatioship that lead to nowhere. Surprise,surprise. I was engaged twice and never made it to the altar. But, thank God they didn't. I sometimes think that I'm too nice and guys have a hard time breaking up with me and they just continue on and then I end up getting hurt in the end. I'm beginning to think that there isnt anyone out there for me.I know that that's not a positive attitude,but that's how I feel. Right now,I must say,I'm enjoying being single.But,that's not say my hearts desire isn't marriage.
