Probably Toy Story, though Ratatouille is a close second.

Bambi

Finding Nemo

horsepill -> RE: Best Animated Movies of All Time (6/19/2008 6:38:56 PM)

So many to love...

Toy Story 1&2 (I've heard there's a 3 in production? Woo-hoo!)
Over the Hedge
The Incredibles
A Bug's Life
Snow White & the Seven Dwarves
A Goofy Movie
Jonah: A Veggietales Movie
Chicken Run

raspberry331 -> RE: Best Animated Movies of All Time (6/19/2008 8:30:41 PM)

The Brave Little Toaster
Toy Story 2

aldrine -> RE: Best Animated Movies of All Time (6/20/2008 2:21:40 AM)

over the hedge...toy story1

DreadPirateRandy -> RE: Best Animated Movies of All Time (6/20/2008 4:30:25 AM)

Fox and the Hound.
Jungle Book.
Lion King.
Toy Story.

I keep it old school.

A lot of the newer Disney's stink. I haven't seen Emperor's New Groove, but if it's anything like the TV show, I assume it sucks. Finding Nemo was OK but I can hardly stand Ellen Degeneres. The Incredibles was just annoying. Cars is probably the only good thing they've put out in a while.

Here's to hoping that Toy Story 3 and Wall-E won't follow the lame pattern.

uncabeeil -> RE: Best Animated Movies of All Time (6/20/2008 10:56:26 AM)

Fantasia
Dumbo
Nemo
Monsters Inc
Both Toy Stories
The Incredibles
Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
The Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner Movie
Gulliver's Travels
Shark Tales
Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings
Wizards (also Ralph Bakshi)
Heavy Metal

This is just too funny! Neither one is more than 15 years old and you call them old school. Some of my choices must seem like ancient history to you since they were made in the dark ages of the 50's ,60's, and 70's.. Thanks for the chuckle.

gambit -> RE: Best Animated Movies of All Time (6/20/2008 11:17:27 AM)

Toy Story 1 & 2
Heavy Metal
Roger Rabbit
Prince of Egypt
Incredibles
Tarzan
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
Pink Floyd: The Wall (the animated scenes)

Well, I was at the age of 4-5 when they were released. For me, it is old.

Shrek
Over The Hedge
Jonah
Lion King
Roger Rabbit
Madagascar
Enchanted

friend2every1 -> RE: Best Animated Movies of All Time (6/21/2008 1:25:56 AM)

A couple fom left field (animator for 10 years)-

Castle of Cagliostro
Triplets of Bellville
Iron Giant
American Tale
Laputa
Sinbad

jazzact13 -> RE: Best Animated Movies of All Time (7/5/2008 7:03:48 PM)

If my knowledge is right, "Snow White..." was the first animated movie, so it probably needs some props, if for no other reason then that it was the first. And although I haven't seen it for a while, I think it still holds up well after all this time, too.

I would probably also go for "Beauty and the Beast". The dance scene was beautifully done, and the story was good, too.

Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings

I finally got to see Bakshi's Lord of the Rings last night. It may be a while before I can form a strong opinion of it.

Beauty and the Beast
Toy Story
The Incredibles
Iron Giant
Shrek
Spirited Away (and I could add another half dozen Studio Ghibli movies to the list)
I haven't seen all of this one yet, but just by seeing 1/2 of it I can see it's worth a place on the list...Grave of the Fireflies

Props for The Cowboy Bebop Movie.
I've never watched the series, but that was quite an impressive animated action film.

aslouie -> RE: Best Animated Movies of All Time (7/11/2008 11:49:04 PM)

Shrek 1 & 2 (I haven't seen part 3 yet)
Jin-roh: The Wolf Brigade
Akira (should be seen as the Citizen Kane of anime, pre-CGI!)
Ghost In The Shell 1 & 2
Animal Farm (the original, 1950's feature)
Appleseed (the CGI, Shinji Aramaki remake, though I haven't seen Ex Deus Machina yet)
Beauty & The Beast
Cowboy Bepop: The Movie
Ninja Scroll

aslouie -> RE: Best Animated Movies of All Time (7/11/2008 11:52:33 PM)

in addition...

Nemo
Dead Leaves

I have yet to see Wicked City* in its entirety.

*some anime that crossbreeds a James Bond spy thriller with supernatural horror.

but I think R.O.D. (Read Or Die) is kinda entertaining, just gotta see the original Japanese language version![&:]
