I called Rhonda a few minutes ago to check on Mike. He is doing pretty good and will hopefully be off of his oxygen by next week. He is also hoping to get back in the studio on a very limited basis starting next week if all continues to go well....Praise The Lord....!!!

She says he still has a long way to go but is well on his way.

She spoke often this morning of the faithfulness of the Lord and how He has brought them through all of this.

I could tell a HUGE difference in Rhonda this morning. She sounds so much better than the last time we spoke so that is a good sign to me. Her spirits were much higher today.

I'll let you know if I hear any more.

Missy

Just talked with Rhonda and Mike is back in the studio on a limited basis. He is doing pretty good, but continue to pray for him and the family. Mike has a considerable amount of medical bills and has been out of work around six weeks.
There is going to be a benefit singing for Mike at Bethany Christian Church on Highway 61, Carrollton, GA on August 7 and 8 starting at 7:00 each night. August 7, Lamp Music Artist Ricky Atkinson, Higher Hope and The Old Paths will be there. August 8, Lamp Music Artist Hopes Journey, Enlisted, The Shadrix Trio and Josh & Ashley Franks will be performing.

Mike has been transferred to Emory Hospital in Atlanta. His blood pressure is improving and he is more stable. They will be doing surgery sometime Monday, unless there is an emergency and has to be done sooner. Please keep Rhonda, Mike and the kids in your prayers.

Update August 3 from Cindy Mize.

Mike had surgery today about noon and came through the surgry very well. His vital signs were good enough to allow him to go to a regular room - not ICU - after surgery. He will be in the hospital from 24 to 48 hours following surgery. Hopefully, he will be home at least by Wednesday. He will have to have this same surgical procedure done again in ten days with another 2 day stay in hospital. If that surgery does not take care of the problem, he will be facing a major surgery to correct this problem. Mike has scar tissue and polyps from the ventilator tube used during his first hospital stay immediately following the accident. Again, the family extends heartfelt thanks for your prayers and concert for Mike during this very difficult time.

Rhonda is keeping Cindy updated on Mike's condition and will continue to provide information. Just continue to PRAY FOR MIKE.

Just curious how the concert went last night. Sure wish I could've been there but there was just no way this time.

Jeremy Chupp just called me and told me that they (Old Paths) weren't able to get there due to being broken down in the bus on the way back from Maryland. I sure hate that because I know they were looking forward to it. He said they just got back in town this morning and were supposed to have been back at the beginning of this week.

Anybody that went last night please give us an update.

I didn't go last night but understand that there was around 175 there. Don't know how it went. We are planning on going tonight. Talked with Doug awhile ago thought they might go tonight, but he said they wasn't. Think there were pretty wore out after being parked on the side of the road all week.

The Best I can tell thats about all busses are good for unless you can afford a new one. Calvary's Way parked ours over two years ago but hey, I do go to Wal-Mart in it every week to keep the batts charged and the grease stirred up.

Benefit Concert was great last night. Mike & Rhonda was there, Mike really look good and he certainly enjoyed the concert. They raised over $1800 last night and a $1000 the night before. Probably had more people last night than Thursday night. We didn't go Thursday night, but I guess there was close to 200 there last night. The groups were excellent and a very great program. Josh Franks emceed the program. The benefit was promoted by the 3 wise men.

Yes, they were great with the new guy. First time I had heard them with him. He has a great voice, think he will go somewhere in Gospel Music. Can't remember his age but he was young.

Mike is to undergo the second surgery this morning (Aug 14) around 8:00 - 8:30 am. Please keep him in your prayers. Hopefully this will be the last, but there is a possibility that they may had to do another later on.
