Electronic Arts will be releasing a new game that has been 5 years in the making. One of its features is that you can create your own animated creatures. The designers felt it was so much fun that they will be releasing the Creature Creator as a standalone product. In the meantime, just yesterday, they released a trial version.

You and your kids will have a riot of a good time creating fantasy animals and animating them.

Here is a link to an animation for a creature that I created in just a few minutes time.

Tom's First Creature, the Grelliesaurus.

I almost downloaded it yesterday. Thanks for putting a creature up to see.

I will probably do one or two more this evening. The initial screen is a bit confusing because an ad pops up and it's not obvious that you have to click on the 'X' in the corner to get rid of it so you can register.

You will have to look for the capability of storing images and movies. Again, it's not obvious how to do it at first; but, once you get the hange of it everything simplifies. I'd love to see what you come up with if you download it.

How much ability do you have within it to tailor the audio to the animations (i.e. footsteps, breathing, growls, etc and randomization of those elements)? Can you use your own samples or are you stuck with theirs?

I haven't downloded the full version yet. I'll do that this evening and let you know.
