but alas, the only food or drink that I've consumed yet today is a banana and some filtered water. I read a novel where a character (English) said: "A banana and a water biscuit are all a sane and sensible person needs in the middle of the day." I may need that Baptist nap, too, or more brain food... first glance I read it as water buffalo, then correctly as biscuit, but it took few moments to recall what water biscuit is even tho' (English) should have tipped me off sooner..... and I had fish (salmon) for supper last night ... guess he hasn't filtered thru yet...

ORIGINAL: Kerrlaw1 Did you see the "Christian Lion" video I posted in the Lion's Den? Oh I'm glad you brought this up again! I spent several minutes this morning watching and re-watching that video. I also found THIS, which you may enjoy reading. Almost missed the article. Thanks, it was great.

Thanks for linking that article, Sharon-Marie. It was great! I'd seen the video and wondered what the story was. Now I know.

ORIGINAL: WhiteRoseBlessings My pleasure, Lioness! Interestingly, the event actually happened back in 1969; but apparently, from snippets that I've read this morning, this story was in the news recently. Although I didn't realize that; in fact, I had not heard of this story at all until this morning when Kerr posted the video link in your thread. And to add further to the story, there's a book out now about Christian. That book is a movie, Shar-Mar. I hadn't realized that it wasn't a recent story. See how styles come back? Those guys in the video looked normal to me.

ORIGINAL: CoeurdeLeon That book is a movie, Shar-Mar. Oh sure. Show me that at least between the two of us, that you at least know the difference between a book and a movie. I got a clue by the word "Starring". quote:

I had a hard time deciding when I first saw it this morning. I finally chose upon it being not a recent thing because of the color quality of the video. (not book) Ha! I've watched that video half a dozen different times and STILL never thought about it being old. I think we're pretty evenly matched yet.

Now, his story is to be told in a new book, written by the Australian John Rendall who, along with his friend Ace Berg, bought Christian from Harrods in 1969. Apparently, according the article shar-mark linked, there will be a new book. I researched to see if the new book is out yet and I can't find it, so my guess is he isn't done. He wrote a book about the experience before, but it has been out of print for about 30 years.
