Maybe faith level wasn't the right words. Maturity maybe?

I did not word that well RC. If we are Christians, we will follow these commands without complaint. However, He does leave us the option of not following them, of course we can then expect to hear:
Luke 13:27 and He will say, 'I tell you, I do not know where you are from; DEPART FROM ME, ALL YOU EVILDOERS.'

Does that help clarify?

I really Love the way you put it.

Some people have taken what Jesus said out of context. Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was and he answered: "Love God and Love others as yourself."

He didn't say these nullified the rest of the 10 commandments, but it is what it is based upon (its foundation).

Some take it as nullification of the others. In that, they think all I have to say is to God is that I love you and talk about Jesus. But I can be as rebellious as they come. Living a "Life-style" of sin. And keep on saying, I love you lord.

Lets make it practical. Supposing you are married to someone who tells you always that they love you. But they cut you down with their tongue on a regular basis, abuse you physically, and whenever you as them to do something for you they never do it. But bless God, they still love you. Even worse, they are carrying on an adulterous affair with another person. When you find out, you told them you are willing to forgive them and let thing go back to the way it was. And all they way to you is, "I love you" and go right back to doing what they want.
I think, it wouldn't take a genius to figure out that, that person doesn't love you, he/she doesn't even care for you. He/she only cares about himself.

That is what applies to our relationship with God. If we say we love Him, we will do His will. And He is worthy of our love.

Jesus said the same thing in the book of John.

John 14:15 - If you love Me, keep[a] My commandments.

John 14:21 - He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

In other words, Jesus is telling you like in Psalm 78:35-37, talk is cheap. Show it.

And this is what God did, he showed His love to us (John 3:16 - God so loved the world and he gave His only begotten Son...), even though he didn't deserve anything good from Him. In fact, when He did that we deserved condemnation and Judgment. Also, he did good to those (all humanity, me and you) whom He was angry at for their lawlessness and rebellion.

How much more should we be willing to love and obey the God who is so merciful and kind.
He gave us life for goodness sake. He justified and bestowed a kingdom freely upon those (me, you and all humanity) who do not deserve it. Just like that Adulterous woman in the book of John (John 8: 1-11), it should be our joy to obey Him.

I will like to warn you, if you do not truly Love him (shown in your obedience), He will withdraw His Mercy and Grace, and give you justice by condemning you to Hell. That is the truth. I am sorry to say it, but it is what the bible teaches.

If you are not I love with God, after listening to all of this (I mean ALL), you might start to appreciate Him:

What rules do you live by?

How well do you follow the rules?

What are your rules based upon?

Please define what a legalist is to you.

The Legalist arguement again. This is rediculus. This arguement is just used by a bunch of unsaved people to silence those who are telling them the truth.

If God didn't want us to live a life-style that is pleasing to him he wouldn't have told us to do so in several scriptural passages.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (New King James Version)

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,[a] nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5: 19-21

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery,[a] fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

No, we who tell you the truth that God commands you to repent are not legalist. Legalists accordig to the bible, are people who think they could be justified by keeping the law (Galatians 5:4).
But we are justified by Faith in Jesus Christ, because we have blown it. Now, having been justified, we now obey His commandment to us to Repent (Acts 17:30-31, John 8:11, Luke 13:1-5, etc...)

To put it simply, Repentance doesn't save you. Jesus saves you. But not repenting, will damn you to Hell.
