CoeurdeLeon_ -> Snarkiness 101 (5/12/2008 10:27:19 PM)

For all those who post in Theo and elsewhere, I thought we could use this thread to learn and explore ways of being snarky without looking like it.

We'll learn to come up with creative responses such as ~

My, that certainly is an interesting perspective.

and

I have no doubt that you are quite sincere in that mistaken belief.

We'll even draw from Shakespeare...

I'm afraid you are too cunning to be understood.

Have something you'd really like to post but know it's not going to fly? Post it here and get it off your chest while we fine-tune and tweak the language into something that, upon the first read seems innocuous enough but, upon re-reading, elicits a "Hey! Wait a minute![sm=aside.gif]" response.

utilityfielder -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/12/2008 10:45:53 PM)

What popped into my mind was a saying by an old radio personality that I used to listen to:

This is too intense for the dense.

CoeurdeLeon_ -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/12/2008 10:47:44 PM)

HA! Like, perhaps, "You may find another thread more accommodating because this is too intense for the dense"? I like it![sm=biggrin.gif]

bluestone -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/12/2008 10:48:16 PM)

"Perhaps you could pm me an explanation for your scripture interpretation, sometime in 2015."

"I am sorry, I don't have a copy of the New Idiot Translation"

"Did you learn those fine points at the Red Skelton School of Theology?"

phosadaud -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/12/2008 10:48:49 PM)

I often want to say:

I think you are the only person in the history of the world to ever interpret that Scripture that way. What a unique perspective you have.

bluestone -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/12/2008 10:53:15 PM)

"And you have been pastoring for HOW many days??"

phosadaud -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/12/2008 10:54:02 PM)

Just for the Lioness:

[sm=smile-l.gif] <- Pretend that's a globe.

That's ^ my favorite![sm=thumbsup.gif]

phosadaud -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/12/2008 11:00:15 PM)

When will your psychiatrist be adjusting your meds again? You might want to ask him to do it sooner rather than later....

CoeurdeLeon_ -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/12/2008 11:00:29 PM)

For OPs who start threads complaining about someone else's stupidity but who don't even spell their own thread title right....

BTW, this site has a lovely spell-checker feature that you might find useful. And you do have the ability to edit your OP and title...

And we're probably the only 2 people who get it! [sm=purplelaugh.gif][sm=purplelaugh.gif][sm=purplelaugh.gif]

This is so much fun! [sm=funny.gif]

phosadaud -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/12/2008 11:08:23 PM)

You must have the "read-between-the-lines" Bible because I can't find that in my plain ol' Bible...

^ This is close to mine.

They make a pill for that.

Ps103 -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/12/2008 11:52:49 PM)

I like Himself's standard line:

"How intriguing."

utilityfielder -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/12/2008 11:58:21 PM)

A favorite of mine:

And your point is?

Focusing -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/13/2008 12:01:40 AM)

One I've used for years ... That's different.

zmanfan38 -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/13/2008 12:04:15 AM)

A long time ago, one of my circles of friends had a silly thing we did. You use your index finger to pull down a bit on your lower eyelid and say "do you see anybody in there who cares?".

Eventually it evolved to just pulling on the eyelid and not having to say a word.[sm=purplelaugh.gif]

deliveredarling -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/13/2008 5:59:14 AM)

I'm just so humored that I was invited to participate in this thread. Apparently, someone feels that I need help with my snarkiness[:D]

I am wondering which comment I made that needed help or is this for help in the battling arena. Now that I have an option for this, I can't think of a single line.........[&o]

car2ner -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/13/2008 6:51:40 AM)

ROFL............................................Rofl (spew) great, now I have to clean up before work...

I still like when we were reading out of the book of 2nd Conclussions followed by Accussations 1:1.

Here I come to save the daaaaaayyyyyyy!

bluestone -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/13/2008 8:32:32 AM)

How nice of you to take the time to tell us we are all wrong. Please feel free to get back to your busy schedule. We don't mind.[;)]

armydude -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/13/2008 8:45:00 AM)

You have earned my undying admiration. After all typing must be hard while wearing that jacket.[8D]

CoeurdeLeon_ -> RE: Snarkiness 101 (5/13/2008 9:27:01 AM)

You guys are good at this![sm=Llol.gif][sm=Llol.gif][sm=Llol.gif]

How about, I regret that urgent matters, like dusting my fusebox, prevent me from giving your post all the consideration it so obviously deserves.
