I've sat here for three minutes trying to figure out how it's Tuesday today! I should have just gone on to the second sentence to get the context!!

I've been sitting here thinking it was Tuesday too! I should have read on into your post as well.

We're going to the pool down the road in a few minutes. Hope you're all having a great day!

Ohhh, the pool sounds heavenly. I wish we could go to a pool this afternoon . . . . it's so stinkin' hot.

Awww, Roberta! Just think this time tomorrow you'll be hugging your "baby"!

Oh man! We got some nasty stuff going on here. Our sewage is coming out of our bathtub/shower drains. It's so gross. There is plumber coming out sometime today to fix it. It seems like something is plugging up our pipes WAY down in there because everything goes down the drain really slow. Our washer won't drain either, so I can't even do laundry yet. And, the worst part was Jimmy's bathtub seat, bathtub toys and Timmy's toothbrush was in the bathtub when all that poo water came up out of the drain. I got Timmy a new tooth brush, and I have to clean and bleach everything else. So gross!

Good afternoon ladies!

We are having a nice day. Better now that dh has gone to work on the house. Is it bad to say that? He has been so incredibly cranky the last two days. He is in pain due to his back, and also annoyed at a contractor over some issue, and it's all just been spilling out onto us. <sigh> It is very unlike him to be this unrelentingly irritable so I think his back must be hurting more than he's telling me.

The boys had their fill of playing in the dirt, and school, and now it's naptime. I heard back about Asrat's school that by law he has to work through Kindergarten, but that it's fine if he finishes it by October, so that's good. The instructer even suggested just focusing on the papers that are required to send in, and not bother with the lessons.

Tomorrow we are having company! Someone I actually met on CW long ago (but she left after a particularly nasty bc thread ). She has three little ones almost the same ages as mine, and it is going to be so nice to have them here!

Well, that sounds like a compromise. He just has to send in the bare minimum to prove he knows the Kindergarten work, then he can move on to 1st grade. And come October, you have a whole fresh set of materials to work with!

Hats of to you and your boy for making such a good team.

That does sound odd Maggie since he doesn't even have to go to school until he's 8 by Sept 1

Grrr. Isaac and I are a little shaken. We were leaving the grocery store and I had a stinky cart with a wheel that kind of stuck -- I was pushing it in the parking lot, we hit a huge hole (which I didn't see) and the cart tipped over! It tipped about 3/4 of the way over -- it fell into someone's car. The lady was in the car and she jumped out and helped me tip the cart back up right and push it out of the hole. The thing was heavy with the kids/stuff in it! She was so nice, I checked her car but she said "Oh! Please don't worry about my car!" as she was sympathizing over Isaac. Poor Isaac had gotten his hand smashed between the cart and the car. He was bawling. His hand is fine, her car was fine, Isabel was like "What the heck is going on?" I pushed the cart to my car, hit another smaller hole and the cart started tipping again. I was able to catch it, and I pushed it into the store and told the manager it had a bad wheel, and that I hit a hole in the parking lot and it tipped over with my kids in it. I told her nicely, and she had a concerned look on her face but she didn't say anything, just "OK . . . .". They probably think I'm going to come back and sue them, LOL. I'm not worried about it now, the kids are fine, the lady's car was fine, and she was so kind, thankfully. Isaac cried all the way home, I think it scared him. I just wanted them to know to get rid of that faulty cart. (And hopefully the craters in the parking lot!)

Rachel that is terrible news.

I also had a bad shopping trolley (cart) yesterday, the pin was almost out of the wheel at one stage. A lady got me another one but I was kind of annoyed she didn't try and help me unload all my shopping into the new one when I had two kids and obviously wasn't very well (coughing, sneezing etc).

Christina- that sounds rotten, hopefully they can fix it all up for you.

LOL Maggie my hubby is rather snappy at the moment too, he is on day 9 of the 10 day shift of 12 hour days so he is snapping at anything. Hopefully his 4 days off will help!

That is so sad! I can't tell you how many times I've read in baby books, parenting magazines, parenting websites that babies should NEVER be left unattended with pets! My cats loved Timmy when he was a baby, and I don't think they ever would have hurt him purposely, but I ALWAYS kicked the cats out of his room when I was putting him down to sleep. It's just what you do, no matter what, always, any cat or dog, no matter how friendly they are or no matter how much the pet avoids the baby!

What in the world were those people doing when this happened? The baby had to have cried when he first got bit. Yet, another reason I always use my baby monitors!

Makes me angry to hear stories like that.

The pool was heavenly. We were pretty hot today too (mid 90s). Hubby got there after work and got to swim with us for about an hour and a half! We were tickled!

Aw, Christina! Please tell me the plumber came today and fixed it.

Maggie, having company tomorrow sounds so fun! I'm really blessed to have several posters from here who live within 30 or 45 minutes of me. We get together a lot. Hope you all have a wonderful visit!

Rachel, what a bad day at the grocery store...good grief. I bet you were seriously happy to get home.

And that news story out of Tulsa is just so heartbreaking. We had a cat when GB was born, but we found her a new home because GB was showing signs of allergy (turns out it wasn't the cat ). I never turned my back on them if they were in the same room and the cat went downstairs every night while we slept. We just never took any chances.

You'll be OK for the court date, since you know you were well within your legal rights. Do you have to go straight to the court date or is there someone who can take care of it beforehand? When we got our ticket, I went to the MTO (our dmv) and met with a prosecutor who got rid of the ticket for me (since we were in the right) and I didn't have to take it to court.

Lexie- My sister and I were looking over the ticket I was given. These are the things the officer got wrong on the ticket.
1-The time of day. (She put down one hour later than it really was, which means that I was already in church.)
2-The flow of traffic. (She out moderate, when there were only a handful of cars on the road. It was light traffic)
3-The intersection where she pulled me over. (She was off by two blocks.)
4-She put that I have brown hair when I am a blonde and it says so on my lic.
5-My height. She put that I'm 4'7", when my lic. clearly stats 5'7".
6-The spelling of my sister's name. (It's sis's car)
7-She checked the box stating that I am the owner of the car.
8-The name of my sister's insurance.

I called my brother. He is a former police officer. He said that I need to take the ticket down to the police station and point out all the errors and that they'll probably get everything dropped because they don't want something with that many careless errors going to court.

Rachel - what a terrible trip to the grocery store! I'm glad everyone is ok! Does the store have it's own owner? Would you call the store owner to let them know what happened? Even though everyone is ok, the owner may want to know so they can check/replace carts. I find the managers never care about that stuff, but the owner does.

Roberta - wow, that is a lot of errors! I'm sure they'd be embarrased enough to take care of your ticket! It's a good thing you checked all that (they don't put that much info our tickets but I still wouldn't think to check it all).

Akeelah was supposed to start swimming again last night and then we got a call to say that there was something wrong with the filtration system so they were cancelled (just for last night hopefully). The instructor said that they were offering dry land lessons - my response - "how do you give a dry land course to a baby?" They were going to teach first aid to the parents and let the kids colour, so we didn't go. Hopefully everything is ok. We missed the last 4 days of her last lessons because she was sick, and she was making such great advances.

Yes, they did finally at 5pm.....After dishes were piling up. I was making dinner at the time and didn't have time to sanitize and wash the tubs after he left either, so no one got a shower or bath. I feel sticky and yucky!

Well, I'm glad the plumber came Christina, hope everything is clean to your satisfaction soon.

And Rachael! My goodness what a trip to the grocery store. Everyone still ok?

Well, I did a few chores while Nathan was sleeping. I've been feeling so lazy lately, but Nathan must be sleeping lightly, because I kept disturbing him. Once he actually cried for a few minutes, but I didn't go up right away, and he settled down.

So, now I'm being good/bad and keeping quiet here at the computer. But the laundry is up to date, the dishes are well in hand, the main living area is vacuumed and the kitchen floor is swept and mopped. There are more things I'd like to do, but the house is in basic order.

I'm SO glad you got that fixed. Because I'm one of those germaphobe kind of people, I can't imagine how icky cleaning that was/will be.

I'm so glad you wrote that! I broke a plate Saturday morning (got it out of the microwave and it was hot and I just let go). Even though I vacuumed and mopped in there, I found a little sliver this morning and I need to remop it...almost forgot. Thanks!

glass is a pain!!!! I always find the little slivers forever!!!! Jack broke a bowl this morning so I need to get in there and get a wet paper towel and get all the glass up (or make sure it is all up...I think hubby might have done that at lunch time for me).
I had all these lofty plans about how much cleaning I would get done this morning....then I spent an hour on the phone with Erin, and half and hour on the phone with Donna....and all my lofty plans went out the window!!!! Oh well...I guess I will clean later after nap time. At least I got the crock pot started with dinner in it so that's one less thing to have to deal with later

Yup, all are fine, thanks!

Hubby is getting off work early today, yay! He has to take off early to get to the license bureau to get his drivers license renewed. (always fun). I got mine renewed a couple weeks ago and the pic looks like I'm drunk, LOL. They really need to say "one, two, three" before they take the pic.

Oh my goodness....Life has been so hectic around here since I got home. Hubby is on vacation, and we're just here and there and everywhere!

My trip was so so so awesome. There are pictures where I usually put my pictures, for those of you who know where that is.

I will post a little more about my trip later, God showed me some amazing things this weekend. I am touched forever!

It sure is good to be home. I missed my hubby and my baby a LOT.
