lw9: One thing that's also important to note are the people teaming up with Bentley, such as John Paul Jackson, Ryan Wyatt, and Rick Pino at the 'Abiding Glory Conference' in September [listed on the FFM website], and those who commisioned Bentley on Jun 25th including John Arnott, Bill Johnson, C. Peter Wagner, Rick Joyner, and Che Ahn. Most of those names won't be a surprise for some of you, and there were many other 'leaders' involved. Just google if you want a full list of participants in that or any other event held with Bentley.

Straight up: Anyone sharing the stage with Bentley rather than speaking out against him is putting their stamp of approval on his false teachings, his violent behavior, and his false prophecies. They are willing participants in Bentley's vile deception. All I can suggest is to make a note of these people and stay well away from them, their 'ministries', and anything else they have their hands in.

quote:

Soxfan: That group you listed above are ALSO false teachers. That's why they won't speak out against Bentley.

Of course, and you and I have spent so many hours comparing the scriptural truth to the false doctrines of the above individuals. Having them openly support Bentley helps cut to the chase a whole lot quicker. If someone can see how false Bentley's teachings and practices are, they can then easily connect the dots to the above list without further research to know they are false as well.

There are probably many who don't know much about the above people and assume they're ok, or they may have even participated in their 'ministries' without even knowing it, such as attending general conferences, seminars, concerts, etc. Hopefully people will become more aware and cautious of the events they attend or guest speaker they listen to.

I just received a news letter from a local church who is having the pastor of ignited church (where lakeland revival was hosted) coming to our town. Keep those who entertain the thought of going to this revival service in your prayers. I pray that other local churches wont be affected by this garbage also.

This is the only "good thing" I will attribute to this Lakeland Circus.
Since I have checked this so-called move out, my eyes are completely
open to all the charlatans before him. Some I have supported financially,
some I attended their meetings, some I have taught their false doctrines.

I've had a lot of REPENTING to do. But thank God that our eyes will be
opened if we truly have a "love of the truth." To what measure we hunger,
that measure we will be filled. If we hunger after our own lust, the false
teachers are there by the thousands to take advantage of us. If we hunger
after truth and righteousness, we have the privilege of being abused for
the sake of our Lord and Saviour. Bless His Name.

I keep thanking those who have contributed to this thread.
You will never know how much I appreciate what I thought was nothing
in the beginning. I truly thank the Lord that I can now truly shepherd the
flock here against such ravenous wolves.

Thank You from the bottom of my heart to my brothers and sisters.

No.... thank you, Lapidoth! You've been one of the biggest contributors here, providing everyone with evidence that cannot be denied. You've done an incredible job! Due to time constraints, I'm not able to participate as much as I'd like, but it's wonderful to see so many others posting the truth.

My pastor and his wife are going to Lakeland. They believe that there are fleshly issues but that most of this move is of God. They hope to bring back an impartation .

There was a service last night as they had just returned from Dudly. It was quite a question and answer session as many church members were asking lots of questions about the whole thing (we must be a very suspicious congregation)

At times in the service I felt very close to God but no closer than I could feel at home by myself. And I was really too shy/skeptical to let them lay hands on me. But as for evil? I couldn't readily discern any.

(I just wanted to share this with you, I am not offering up a solid opinion on goings on because obviousely we all already know the serious issues. I am sitting on a fence with caution right now.)

We have been waiting for a move from God for years and I would hate to chuck it out when it arrived just because I didn't understand it. Right now I am wishing I was as sure as some of you guys...I will keep praying about it and reading my Bible.

You need to get sure ASAP. Before this "impartation" is brought back - RUN! I went through this thread (and some other sources) and compiled a LOT of information, for my own benefit. I didn't need to decide one way or another on this mess, seeing him in action did it for me. But I needed to get my ducks in a row and be prepared to discuss or warn friends who were curious about this. I got 20-something pages of links and quotes and I could keep going. If you'd like to see that, PM me.

Fleshly issues? But it's from God?
I pray their eyes will be opened while there
and they DO NOT bring back the "impartation."

The things of God cannot be "imparted."
That is a doctrine of the WoF, prosperity crowd.

I’ve had several people in my church community and many more outside it, ask me what I make of Todd Bentley in Florida (and mixed in there is often the name John Crowder).

These questions, from good people in my church, and other friends, are enough for me to take it seriously and offer some responses.

By way of method, I’m not going to deal with them directly. I don’t want to offer an assessment or critique of Todd Bentley and/or John Crowder. Instead what I want to offer is how I plan on navigating this movement, and the next one that comes along.

Being in the association of vineyard churches for 20 years, means I have seen several movements like this come and go and many are connected to these current ones.

So what follows below is more, what I have learned from some of those experiences. They are in no particular order, just as they occur to me.

Some people think the Lakeland revival is "winding down". This is
far from the truth. Todd Bentley is still there every night - and
recently announced that from Aug 23 he will be taking the revival
all over the USA and also overseas - with huge meetings everywhere.
Here is how he puts it on his website-

"Already we’ve had successful excursions to “test” the waters in
places like Dallas, Concord, and Louisville. The Lord has shown
me many more potential wells to uncap in the days, weeks,
months, and perhaps even years to come—38 in all right now,
including places like Knoxville, Atlanta, Spokane, and into
Birmingham, England, and other key areas..." (~www.freshfire.ca).

Meanwhile I continue to get emails from all over the world telling
me that vast numbers of Spirit-filled people everywhere are being
sucked into this movement - often entire churches at a time.

I have been realizing that we are not being effective at getting
our message out - or even being heard. It is not enough to have
the book on Amazon or the videos on Youtube. Thus we have
decided to make this special offer - at no charge.

*I understand "deception" to mean all sorts of counterfeits of the

counterfeit healings and miracles even, false teachings, false
prophecies, counterfeit visions from the enemy, counterfeit
experiences of heaven, fake appearances of Jesus and, please
note, many counterfeit appearances of angels which will really be
fallen angels come to deceive any believers who are open to them.
Of course Christians can have such experiences genuinely from
the Lord but there is also going to be an increase in these
counterfeits as we move towards the end-times, as the enemy
attempts to "deceive if possible even the elect", (Matt 24;24).

Since there never was a "revival", there isn't an end to it.
Sad part, is, there is no end to the spreading of the doctrines
of demons.

My prayer is that the people of God will be awakened and aware
of these falsehoods heading their way.

Todd Bentley Fires Blanks in Texas

quote:

The pre-show features a soft rock band, the same band that seems to pop up at every revival, singing the same religious phrases 30 or 40 times through cheap-sounding concert equipment to whip the crowd into the kind of spirit-shaking frenzy that only an epileptic seizure could replicate. Just off to the side stands Bentley, psyching himself up, changing positions from lying on his stomach (ground meditation?) to pumping his fist to the blaring beat of the drums.

LINK

quote:

"I've come here to help spread the fire," Bentley says. "BAM! BAM!"

Four or five BAMs later Bentley utters an ear-shattering KABOOM in Miller's direction and the Denton preacher falls over backwards, shaking and twitching like a slab of bacon that's been thrown on a hot griddle.

Bentley goes on for another two hours about his divine medical miracles, supernatural surgeries, religious root canals and raising of 30 people from the dead, including one poor soul who asked his family to play his revival at the funeral and started knocking on the inside of the coffin. Unfortunately, there won't be any such miracles performed this night. No one in a wheelchair is pushed to the stage. No cancer survivors walk up the stairs to thank Bentley for kicking the carcinoma right out of them or a recently departed zombie for returning him to the land of the living. Not one crutch-clutching crowd member hobbles to the stage to get the holy head-butt from Bentley himself. Truth be told, I was a little disappointed.

I was listening too yesterday's edition of Way of the Master Radio online this morning. They had a gentleman outside the place for the Todd Bentley service in L.A. doing open air preaching. It was hard to hear everything on it, but they had people mocking and booing him. A couple of ladies began to bow down before him in mock worship, and one guy, even tried to cast a demon out of the man preaching!

By the way, this wasn't just street folk that was doing all this, but people waiting inline for the Todd Bentley service.

He was preaching the gospel very plain, without apologies, and they were objecting too it, and were even offended by it.

Wouldn't it be wonderful that wherever the Todd Bentley show rolls in, there would be people outside the event, boldly preaching the gospel!

If you are interested, you can go to the way of the master radio website. Hour two has the most telling stuff.

They are suppose to get some pictures of what took place online up as well.

Isn't that sad?

People are so wrapped up in the false signs and wonders,
they BOO the preaching of the Gospel. I will pray that other
brothers as that will indeed be there to preach the real
gospel at each event.

"It's an adulterous and wicked generation that seeks after
signs and wonders."

"When I return, will I find (biblical) faith?"

Bentley is called "LEAST" in the kingdom of God.
That unknown is called "GREAT" in the kingdom of God.

It is very sad that so many people are blinded by signs and wonders that they will abandon the truth of the gospel for its sake.

It was interesting when the man tried to pray the demon out of the open air preacher, they were both trying to out talk each other. The demon casting guy was saying, "We command the spirit that influences this man to go!" over and over, with a few other things added. While the open air preacher was firing back, "You tactics aren't working sir, it don't work that way, I'm in Christ, covered by His blood."

The demon casting guy finally gave up, with the open air preacher announcing at the end of his talk that Todd is a false prophet preaching a false gospel and appealing for them to repent and turn to Christ before its too late.

I just would have liked the crowd to have been miked for a more clearer response. But what I heard was quite sad.

This nation, and churches need prayer now more than ever.

I have never been to Florida, but when told about this 'revival' I checked it out on the internet. I have seen videos of the meetings that you speak about, and I have made videos about/against this nonsense.

What is wrong with people?! The few who are genuinely born again are TOLD to check out if people like this false prophet is a man of God or not, 1.Jn.4. I knew immediately it was false, but yet thousands would rather throw out all discernment and believe in wickedness that is plainly unlike Christ. How on earth don't people see it?!

This man Bentley is not just another ranting godless churchman, but he is without doubt demonically inspired. He is moving in spiritual powers that are nothing to do with the Lord God of Israel, just like Copeland, Hagin, Hinn, and Cerullo. Tragic.

Well said Rev. Hughes! I think what's wrong with people is that the church at least in the U.S.A. doesn't teach sound doctrine. No sound doctrine you get the Bentley's,Copeland's,Hagin's,Hinns, etc. You're correct in that discernment is almost gone. After all we mustn't "judge" anyone or anything! I don't know how things are in Britain I'm sure you have your share of flakes as well, things are getting worse this side of the "pond!"

NOW, very evident, it is people who are following EVERY WIND OF DOCTRINE and DOCTRINES OF DEMONS. YET, they are still in 'church' and oh, so SPIRITUAL... I repeat. THIS IS THE FALLING AWAY!

It's great to hear from a UK Pastor/Preacher speaking out against what's going on. Myself and family live in the UK as well and haven't yet found any preacher speaking against these false revivals yet. The Lord led us out of a megachurch here, in Peterborough. It was purpose driven with a diluted gospel. We had been deceived for 10 years, partnered with the copelands, but the Lord answered a prayer of mine about reaching the lost. He led me to wayofthemaster.com and that was the start of the Lord opening our eyes to all these deceivers. I now read my Bible, which is what I should have done before. Be great to know where in the UK you're from?

I totally agree with my compatriot Justin Hughes!

I am frankly astonished by the number of mature Christians I have met, including a number of friends, who think this demonic stuff is from God! How anyone with an ounce of discernment can imagine that this violent lunatic is of God I don't know. Someone said to me that Bentley kicking people in the stomach is OK because Smith Wigglesworth did it! Try saying that Wigglesworth might have got it wrong...

I see that Bentley is coming to the UK to unleash what 'God' has got for us. I'm sure he's going to unleash something...

We had the same thing with Toronto, where mature Christians I loved and respected started telling the 'holy' spirit to make people stick to the floor...

Still, the Word of God tells us to make sure that we don't get deceived too (Galatians 6:1). None of us is above deception, so we all need to stay alert.

May God bless all those who are standing up for the Truth of Jesus!!

I'm not surprised. His freak show is being exposed as nothing more than snake oil sales so now he's bailing. There have been a number of articles showing that his healing and ressurection claims are completely false, so now he's taking his money and running!
