Angie, it could be a yeast infection. I've had those in my belly button before and they sound exactly what you're describing. Try using an OTC antifungal (athlete's foot stuff) and make sure you dry it realllllly well after you shower.

Angie, ouch! That's gotta hurt, what with the itch and the stretch. Never had that, but it does sound like a yeast infection, like Donna said. Hope it clears up soon! I had diarrhea last night. It was hard to sleep. But it was weird, I don't have the cramping stomach pains, just the runs. My bottom is so sore. I am so tired too. Hubby is on a day trip to another church for the 'local' ministerium meeting. It's an hour and a half away. We have dead zones all around us. The best number he could get for me was the pastors home and he doesn't live nearby. Oy. I'm a tad concerned about that. Plus baby has been pushing on his doorway. It's weird. Like instead of the normal jabs and punches on my cervix the whole area feels like it's bulging. He must be pushing on something and thereby pushing his head down. Oh, another contraction. Doesn't hurt, much, just very mildly. Probably worrying for nothing. Well better get going on the day, got tomatoes to put up. I know after baby comes there won't be any canning in this house!

My doctor told me the baby would be growing a lot in the next few weeks, so I guess that's normal, just uncomfortable. Gabe thinks it's extremely funny to throw things on the ground and ask me to try to pick them up My husband (and a lot of other people) thought it was funny that I could balance things on my stomach (like bottles, glasses, etc.) It really didn't help that I could do it in the 4th month...I had to put up with it for a long time (I thought it was cool at first, but quickly grew tired of it!)

What's nice about having a toddler and being pregnant at the same time is that you can ask the toddler to pick things up and they love it!! At least mine does. She feels so important helping mama. Hey, it is a help!! Oh Erin, I hope it does!! I wouldn't mind at all!

Kathryn - Are you feeling better today? Sorry you had a rough night last night. I went to the doc who told me it could be an allergy outbreak. So at the moment he suggested I take Benadryl to subside the itch. If the rash doesn't go away in the next week, I am to give him a call and go back in for further diagnosis. I got the topical stuff, and it really isn't helping. Ugh! I have the oral medicine and am going to try that.

Wow, Kathryn, great job with the canning. I have never had homeade ketchup. Thanks for the heads up, Kim, about the liver problem. Since the topical benadryl didn't work, I took some oral when I got off work yesterday. Oh boy, it layed me out flat for over an hour, and I was till groggy all night.....making it quite tough to think and follow through with my son and his homework/studies. I took a second dose before bed and the rash is nearly gone. I don't have the itching like yesterday. I am sooooooo sleepy this morning. My body doesn't react well to medication. It takes me a 1/2 day to work it out of my system and feel "normal."

I'm glad the meds worked, but man I've had those drugged feelings. It's not fun. It makes it so hard to wake up!

There is also something called PUPPS, it looks like a rash or allergic reaction and causes massive itching. I think Rachel(Isaacsmom) had it when she was pregnant the first time.

Now that I think about it, my friend got a terrible rash towards the end of her first pregnancy. I don't think anything really helped it. Other than ice packs to sort of dull the itch. I think it went away shortly before she had the baby. I have an embarrassing question. I've been going #2 a lot, I mean A LOT! One day it was runny, but now they are just soft. It's not like diarrhea, but I'm just going a lot. I don't feel sick or stomach crampy, I mean I have period like cramps, but I think that's just the name of the game for me these days. My question is, my bum really hurts. What can I do for it? Other than sitting on ice packs....

Kathryn, there are prep. H medicated wipes (truly a God-send) that have witch hazel on them and are like the moist flushable wipes, but more expensive.
