(((Sherry))) I think if you're feeling him move that much it is probably fine. When Caden gets active he's really active, but when he's sleeping or something he'll be still for quite awhile. I'm glad you've got some people helping you out - nothing like chicken soup when you're sick!

Oh and btw, IIRC, being calm or whatever only affects the first number (systolic), not the second number (diastolic). That's why they pay more attention to a raised diastolic - it's not prone to being affected by one's emotional state.

That's good to know - I didn't realize relaxation doesn't work for the bottom number.

Lily- I'm glad your shower went well! All those diapers will be a huge blessing. And I vote that you can beat the other lady...I bet you can get Caden out in an hour. And for your BP...the 90 is a little high. Probably a good idea just to get it rechecked in a couple of days.

Thanks, Kati. ...and LOL about getting him out in an hour - I wish!

Myka, they did have me do that and it was the same, so I have to go back Thursday to check again. Really, really, really don't want to be induced.

Kim, I am so happy that you had such a wonderful shower. I want to see this Clifford blanket you speak of.

How concerned should I be about some minimal spotting and cramping? It's been present all day, but just traces, and the cramping has been off and on (although rather painful when it is there). The only reason I am questioning whether I should be concerned is because I spotted throughout the first half of my pregnancy on a regular basis (thinking it was my period), but that hasn't occured in a couple of months now. I have had a stressful week, a busy weekend and then dove right into the work week today as if everything was normal. Should I call my doctor, or just wait until my appointment on Friday? I have been documenting everything...amount of spotting and cramping, what I was doing when it took place, etc.

sounds like you are doing too much Stephanie....don't do as much, make sure you are staying hydrated, and if it continues, call the dr.

Stephanie - I'd definitely call your doc and let him/her know and maybe take tomorrow off to lay around and see how you feel or if there's a change.

Sarah - I am going to work today, so I am going to research my dates again, if i have time. We are not exactly sure when I ovulated but I can't remember all the facts. I will post them later to see what you guys think.
But I am pretty sure I was on Clomid on Oct 3 or just starting it...

Kim - yeah, everyone has always told me I look bigger than what I say I am. So it doesn't surprise me if I am...it just puts a little more pressure on me to get things done!! I am so happy your shower went so well! Please do take a picture of the play mat. I bet it is really cute! I love the Clifford!!

Sherry, get some rest today!!! I hope you feel better!

Stephanie - I second what Donna said, because that is what my doctor told me...with the exception it was 30 weeks instead of 31.

Have a good day ladies...

I managed to stay at 140/90 for the last four weeks of my pregnancy - TOTAL bed rest kept it from going up any further. If you TOTALLY take it easy (and I mean like lying down, feet up), then you should be fine.

Can I join here now? :) I'm 6 weeks pregnant and I REALLY want this baby! Except for occasionally online I'm pretty much pretending that I'm not pregnant -- I'm not talking about it, even with my husband, and I'm just going on about my business. It's a little bit harder now, since I found out yesterday I have a subchorionic hematoma, and so I'm supposed to do no heavy lifting or strenuous exercise -- which are honestly two of my favorite things that keep my anxiety and depression level down. I think if I had gotten those doctor's orders in the middle of a cold winter, I would have surely ended up in a deep depression. I'm grateful that it's at least summer and that I don't need to be on complete "bed rest" (a phrase that makes me want to run screaming in terror!).

You should have seen my husband though when I told him that the baby was still alive yesterday -- he looked like he could dance a jig, he was SO happy! He misses our babies in heaven, I think as much as I do.

As I said in the other thread, my sister announced she was pregnant (with almost my exact due date). I felt really guilty not telling her, so after my ultrasound, I told her. She was surprised! But I think glad I said something. I know she wishes I was a little more into it all instead of "yeah, it's great. let's talk about something else." It's just so hard for me to even think about at this point. And I don't want to tell my parents at all because they stressed me out last time -- always asking how I'm feeling and talking about it and giving advice and shopping for baby stuff even when I ask them not to! I just want to go on about my business. But my husband is making me feel like I should tell them, especially since my sister has told them about her pregnancy -- it will be extremely obvious when I make my announcement that I kept it a secret for a long time. But I feel like it's my body, my emotions and I'm not ready to say anything! Honestly, if my sister hadn't made her announcement, I wouldn't have told anyone until I was closer to 20 weeks.

Okay, I wrote a novel. :) Sorry. Thanks for letting me join.

Noah and Hannah's AWANA closing was last night. AWANA starts back up September 8th, so by the time they start again, I will probably have my baby!!! I haven't gone past my due date with the last two and with my big babies and if my BP goes up again, the doctor agrees with me that they won't let me go over this time either.

Anyone know...is Labor Day the 1st or the 8th this year? I don't have a normal calendar to tell me such things.

Sarah/SG, I can totally understand not wanting to tell people just yet. The last two pregnancies, I have kept it to telling only those I would want to know if something happened to the baby. It's hard enough to deal with a loss, and then to add insensitive people on top of that... Praying this baby stays strong and healthy in there! Wow...an end of the year baby!

Cool...I could deal with a Labor Day birth. Eek...that means school here starts the week of my due date. I will not worry about that now. I will not worry about that now. I will not worry about that now.

It'd be fun (and fitting!) to have a labour day birth!

Skillful - I can totally see why you wouldn't want to tell anyone until further along with your history. I would do what you're comfortable with and decide not worry about what other people think! If you decide not to tell anyone else until much further along, they might be upset, but they'll get over it! Your pregnancy and baby is not about them and the sooner they come to accept that, the better!! I do think it's kind of neat that you and your sister are due so close together - that'll be fun!

Sarah (SG) - I'm so happy that everything went so well with your u/s! We were praying for you. I understand not telling people for awhile. We'll definitely be doing that if we get a "next time".

Manda, we'll see what they say Thursday, but I don't know how in the world dh would deal with me being on bedrest...

Stephanie - I agree that it would be a good idea to at least call the doc.

I have a question about BH contractions. I don't remember having them with Nadia, I don't even remember having 'normal' contractions during labor, so this is totally new for me. Do BH contrax start at the top of uterus, tighten all the way down to your pelvic region and then feel like something is pushing on your bladder? I got them for the first time a few days ago and couldn't figure out why I had to pee RIGHT NOW. But they've happened since then and I think that's what they are. They don't hurt, I just know my belly is tightening up. And then, they just kinda go away. Never more than like 4 in a day. And I'm trying to drink more water. But is that what they are?

Kathryn...yes that's what they are. Basically they consider BH to be any cont'x that don't lead to the ultimate end of pregnancy....so some BH will be like real labor, and some will not feel like real labor. I never had one BH with my first two....but with my third I had them constantly from about 6mo or so on. Weird how every pregnancy can be so different.

I changed my baby name poll....check out the thread HERE to vote.

Skillfull- my cousin became pregnant out of wedlock. Because the family was pretty upset, my aunt and uncle waited until they were almost 5 months to tell anybody!!! But they wanted to have people excited for them and so they waited until they knew people would me more excited about having another baby. The two children though are 3 weeks apart with my cousin's baby being the older of the two.

Welcome, Sarah (Skillful)! I completely understand not wanting to tell anyone yet. Since we lost a baby in December, we only told parents before the first sonogram (and I kind of wish we hadn't told my in-laws ). After we saw a heartbeat, we told siblings, grandparents and 4 close friends. We won't tell anyone else until my next sonogram at 11 1/2 weeks.

Oh, he'll cope just fine. My DH hadn't even ever been grocery shopping on his own when I got put on bedrest, I had to make a grocery list detailing the size, brand, and aisle where it could be found We also did one of those Dinner making franchise things so that he didn't have to cook, and he washed the laundry and I folded it... It does work, even with pampered, household chore inept husbands

Ok, DH is not totally household chore inept, he was in the Marines for 4 years but he has not done any of those things since we got married.

Since ya'll are talking about bp, I'm curious about what happened towards the end of my pregnancy. My normal bp throughout was 120/70. The last five weeks it crept up from 130/80 to a high of 140-something over 90-something. Should that have been a concern? My doctor didn't think so, but I also know he wasn't always real attentive to things.
It didn't cause any problems with me or the baby obviously, but I'm just wondering if it's normal to some extent or if I need to watch myself closely with my next pg.

Amber, it sound like that wasn't a big increase from your normal, so would be less worrisome than someone who starts out lower anyway. My usual non-pregnant BP is between 80/50 and 90/60...so to 140/90 is a much bigger jump.

When Brian goes to the store, he ends up calling me on the cell and I have to guide him through it that way.

Lily, if you have to go on bedrest, your husband will be just fine. Men are more resilient than they pretend to be.

I am thankful that my hubby can do any thing around the house. His Mama taught him well. It was great when I was very pregnant and had days that I couldn't do much.
