ORIGINAL: pumpkin Thank you for the responses. It is (the whole thing... infertility, etc...) heart breaking. This, well.. it really hurts right now. I appreciate the prayers. Well, my current doctor says no to PCOS, because when he did the surgery to take out the fallopian tube cyst, he said everything else looked really really good. I don't know... maybe it's time to see another doctor, one who specializes in things.. but I don't know if our insurance will cover it. I guess that's what we do next... figure out insurance things. ((((Gina)))) So sorry that you're frustrated. IF is a hard road. I think it's a very good idea if you can swing it, to see a Reproductive Endo. You could also start taking some fenugreek and extra fiber supplements and maybe lowering your carb intake. Blessings, Kim

How is everyone doing this week? Even though we are not officially trying yet I am already anxious about finding out this month. We had good timing once during my fertile period and it was on what was suppose to be my most fertile day, so I should know Sunday/Monday. The two week wait is forever, I forgot what it was like...

I'm continuing to see my ob/gyn... we feel that that is the best thing for us for now. If nothing happens within another 6 mo to a year, then we will revisit the issue. my cyst is gone. No more birth control pills. Back to clomid / progesterone. I am currently doing OPK's to see when I'm about to ovulate... as it's about that time in the cycle. We've discussed IUI's, and are considering that as well.... which my doctor does in office.

Thanks Kim, The 2 cysts that I've had are atypical for pcos. The first was the grapefruit sized one on my fallopian tube. The 2nd was hemorraghic (no idea how to spell that) and caused by the clomid. Pretty much, no.. not ovulating on my own that we know of. I have been doing a "balanced diet" of sorts, it's a specific program so that I don't overeat on any one category. I have lost about 20 pounds with that, plus I exercise regularly... but... I know without a doubt that I absolutely cannot go without carbs or with severely limited carbs. I tend toward hypoglycemia, and I need a good combination of proteins and carbs, and when I follow that, I feel the best. Too many on either side and I don't feel so great, plus I tend to have issues. Sorry, I seem to have lapsed into weight loss moreso than trying to conceive. On the up side.. the test line on the OPK was much darker today than it was yesterday... although I have a hard time reading them, and so I'm going to take another test tomorrow... and hopefully it'll tell me what I want to know. =) I just wish the results weren't so hard to read... "is the test line at least as dark as any part of the control line?" Goodness... I don't know!

Ugh, Gina, those things are terrible! As if TTC & STC isn't stressful enough! I would just get so frustrated with those things and flip them in the garbage. I finally gave up on them. A lot of people recommended the ones that give you a smiley face if you ovulate. I think I was too mad at OPK's in general by then to try those, though. But maybe that would help you a little.

I don't like OPKs or home pregnancy tests for that very reason ladies....too hard to read. So I thought I would start charting....but that has been a source of irritation as well....cuz FF doesn't seem to be the most reliable. My trial of TCOYF has run out so until I buy it....it's useless. I did find out I will have a small paycheck on the 25th of this month. Previously I had been told I wouldn't get paid until the 25th of NEXT month! Anyway....AF is here....so we're not expecting this month. With moving, etc. I wasn't really expecting...but...it would have been nice since we've been trying for a long time (seems like forever some days). Anyone heard of Soy Isoflavones? Soy in general.... I guess it is used in place of Clomid....thoughts?

hello everyone.. just wondering something... I am past ovulation, but before the time that I could take a test and think that it might be accurate. I think I might be starting a yeast infection... oh joy!... and I want to do something about it, but since today is Saturday, my doctor is not there, and I can't call to ask them what they recommend. I don't think I'll make it until Monday, I think I'll end up at the store and praying that I choose the right thing before then! Anyway... any advice on what I could use? Does it even matter at this stage?

Yogurt, lots and lots of plain yogurt. You can dip a tampon in it and then insert the tampon for about 15 minutes at a time.

for reasons I won't go into, I can't use tampons. I have been eating yogurt the past couple of days though.

Ah, hmm... Can you use a monistat applicator? My MIL has also suggested slathering those parts in yogurt and sitting in the(empty) tub and reading a book. Really though, I'm pretty sure monistat 7(or whatever it is) is safe during pregnancy so I don't know why you couldn't use it right now.

well, after much crying, and about an hour of trying... yeah, I can use the applicator thingy... it's definitely not 'fun' though.

I highly doubt that a test will be necessary... but we'll see how it goes.

Megan, I forgot to tell you... I'm not a huge fan of soy because it gives me really, really horrible menstrual bleeding and clots(think the size of plums). But if you are having "weak" ovulation then it might be a benefit because of it's estrogen-like properties.

Ah, okay. Maybe I don't want to go that route then. I didn't try it this cycle as you are supposed to take it on certain days. No one said anything & I was scared to try something without knowing the full ramifications, etc. Large clots...no thank you!

Maybe next month. I've read that you take it on days 3-7 of your cycle & I'm well past that this month. Currently I'm waiting on O....which should be anytime.....

I have a weird question... How do you judge your cm the day after you bd? I have a hard time getting a true reading...

I've always had a bit of difficulty with that as well.. but then I figure that it's not gonna stick around forever... and I mark on my chart whether there was any 'activity' the night before, so I always know that I *could* be wrong. Anyway, that helps you very little. I'm sorry. I do sympathize.

I know TCOYF has a place where you can mark that the CM is "obscured" because of marital relations. That might be the best way to chart it out. Do you use TCOYF, Yolanda?

no, i don't. I've been keeping a scattered "chart" on FF. I don't temp, just keep track of periods and sometimes cm. Is TCOYF better?

From what everyone says, it is. I was able to see more information on the Taking Charge of Your Fertility charting system IMO. You can try it for free for like 15 days....
