I watch it every weekday morning along with Little House on Hallmark....I've also gotten into watching "Seventh Heaven" which I never watched when it was originally on.

If I'm home and in the mood to watch TV, I have it on Hallmark from 8 am to 7 pm. The Waltons all the way through to M*A*S*H.

I like the show a lot though I haven't seen it in a few years as I'm just always doing something else when it comes on in the mornings. I remember as a little kid going to my grandparents house every week and eating dinner then watching that show with my parents, grandparents and my aunts and uncles ... it was a lot of fun.

Oh and I remember Father Knows Best ... I love that show too.

We can't get anything beyond series one of The Waltons. I don't have a credit card to be able to get any of the other series. Oh well, I'll just have to try and remember the series.

Who was the actor who played John Boy when Richard Thomas left the show?
Why did Richard Thomas leave?

Afraid I don't know the answer to either of those questions. Hopefully someone else does.

Oh, The Waltons was one of my favorite shows! My great-great grandmother's middle name was Walton. Her whole name was Alice Walton Green Tyssowski Tappan. I have a family photograph with her, and the photograph includes 5 generations! My cousin Lee and I are working on ways to convince our cousin to have access to the genealogical information that includes Gran.

But I did enjoy The Waltons, and wish / hope / pray for a simpler lifestyle.

I think that is my big attraction to the show too.

There was an interesting episode "The Abdication" on this morning on the Hallmark channel...It showed them filming a movie up on Waltons Mountain and the assistant to the director was played by a young Stephen Collins aka Eric Camden on "Seventh Heaven". He was trying to do a British accent and really wasn't succeeding.

I missed it today. I would have loved to see Stephen Collins in his earlier years.

I LOVE the Waltons!! I've seen them all on DVD but really should watch them again. I bought some at Target a few years ago,not sure if they still sell them or not. Wasn't John-Boy always Richard Thomas?

I have them all too, what they've released so far, anyway. The 7th Season will be released at the end of April.

They replaced the actor for John-Boy, not sure when. I know JB was wounded in England, and when he was returned to the states for recuperation, voila, different actor!

I guess I was mistaken, thought I'd seen 'em all but I haven't. Didn't realize there were so many seasons. No wonder I thought John-Boy was always the same! Wow,I have to get the rest!!

I believe there were nine seasons. At the end of the sixth, JB, who has been working in NY, has been assigned to work on the Stars & Stripes in London . . . waiting for the seventh season now.

[image][/image]I watch the Wlatons regularly and have a question. Has anyone noticed that John Boys pants are always dirty while the rest of the children seem to be clean?

Hmm. Can't say that I have. Definitely something that's escaped my notice!

I join you all when you say you loved The Waltons. I loved it when it was a current show, and I love it today. I drink my morning coffee and watch it on Hallmark. A great way to start any day!

Okay...I'm in my (late) 40's. Fess up ladies! Did any of you have a 'crush' on any of the guys on the show? Me? Yep! Back then, Richard Thomas rocked my world. Surely I am not alone in this???? Anyone else?

Can't say that I did. Not back then anyway. At the time, I wanted John Walton (Sr.) to be my father.

Now, though, I feel differently about him.

After watching the Waltons many times I was surprised to learn that Ralph Waite never won an emmy for best actor in a drama series. I think Oliva won three, gradma won two , grandpa won one and John Boy won two. I hope I am wrong about Ralph Waite he did such a good job. Can anyone clear this up?

I haven't done the research, but I think you're right. Sad, isn't it? He was the rock of the show and of the family.

I never liked John on the Waltons. His hair always looked greasy.

Grandpa, however, was the star of the show for me. When Grandpa died, I was heartbroken. I still remember when it was on Thursday nights. I always liked Mary Ellen, even though she was a snip when she was younger.

Yep! I'm 43. I had a crush on Jim-Bob.

I always liked Jason and Ben.

I remember the "other" John Boy. He didn't resemble Richard Thomas' John Boy at ALL.

Click here and see the second picture on the page. That shows the "new" John Boy in the back row:

I was struck with how BEAUTIFUL Mary Ellen is.
