Hi Ladies. I'm new to this forum. I've been having some trouble for a bit now and really need some support and prayer. I especially am interested the posts from wareeaglekd as interstitial cystitis has been mentioned as a possiblity for me. My story - a year ago, my period went crazy, was very, very heavy and I went into a depression. My dr. put me on Yasmin - birth control pill - to take continuously. I had to take breaks here and there due to spotting etc. I took one of these breaks in June for 5 days, then started back up on the pills again. Within a week I got a bladder infecton. The infection cleared but the pressure on my bladder never went away. No pain, but I felt like I continuoulsy had to pee - even right after I had! Went back to the dr. and she did a pelvic exam and said my uterus was very enlarged. She sent me for an ultrasound (note- I'm from Canada, so all these appts. and things take forever). I suggested that the b.c. pill might be causing my enlarged uterus, so I wanted to go off the pill, and she said it might be a good idea. The ultrasound revealed NOTHING. Uterus normal (I small 1 cm fibroid). Now that I have been off the pill for 5 weeks my moods are all over the map - depressed, tired, not sleeping. The dr. gave me Detrol LA for the bladder, which helps, but I still often take meds to sleep (sleep is a big issue for me). The dr. is baffled and did another pelvic and said it feels pretty normal (NOT TO ME!!!). Now I'm not sure what is going on. I still feel like the pressure on my bladder is internal. I feel bloated. But I also am not sure of anything now, as my moods are all over the map due to the hormonal upheaval. In fact, prolly none of this makes sense at all!!! Anyway, if you have any words of wisdom for me at all I would appreciate it - and if you could say a prayer for my bladder issue I would be very grateful. Hugs to all. Mary

Hi again. I think I need to give a bit more info and then you gals can tell me if you have felt anything similar. When I got the bladder infection, everything in my pelvis felt like it dropped. That feeling has never gone away. I feel like I have a bowling ball inside of me. There is worse pressure on my bladder when my bowels are full or I have a lot of gas (sorry - so , so graphic). What is troubling is that the ultrasound is not revealing any of this, so that is why my dr. thinks it might be interstitial cystitis - or a problem of the bladder, rather than of the uterus. She is sending me to a urologist (Sept 9) and has set up an appt. with a gyn - but for the heavy periods, not for the bladder pressure. Is anyone else dealing with this sort of pressure in their pelvis? God Bless, Mary

ORIGINAL: stampinlady Ladies, How do you deal wth mother problems when you know your hormones are getting wacked out???? I've read Boundaries and The Mother FActor and they opened my eyes alot of things, but how do I deal calmly? It is hard initially to deal with guilt dumpers and manipulators. (I don't know if that is your issue) It is doubly hard to deal with them with raging menopausal hormones. I have found that daily meditative prayer in the book of Psalms really helps me to cope with the day to day irritation that seems to be magnified at this time in my life. Just know this: it is harder at the beginning when you begin to make changes in how you deal with others. They are often exponentially worse in their dealings with you and "ratchet up" the antagonism. It is worth it in the end to create and maintain healthy boundaries. You cannot change others. But you can change how you react to them, and how much you allow them to steal your peace. I promise to put your name in my prayer box.

Jalanda, Thank you for what you said in the why I don't post thread. I think you are right...age has a way of calming us down, tempering us so to say. The things that I used to be so adamant about no longer seem as important in the scope of life. I am secure in my knowledge of who I am now, I am confident that my choices are just that...MY choices, and I can't push my issues onto someone else. Again, thank you. (((hugs)))

Jalanda, I'm just glad you post in at least one thread I post in too. I'd miss you if I didn't see you once in a while.

Thanks Kath! The dynamics of my participation on this board has greatly changed in the last two years. I do much more lurking than posting. But this thread is a must!
