as to the Endometrial ablation I'm not really sure what the point is other than getting rid of the period. I mean wouldn't we still have hot flashes and all the other stuff? From what was said about it I don't see it as a cure for menopause. The person I know who had it was bleeding for days, would stop for a few (maybe 10 days, if she was lucky) and then would start bleeding again. This went on for months - her dr recommended it to her to ease her pain and provide her comfort.

Thank goodness I found this thread. I'm 43 and went straight menopausal when I had hysterectomy last year. I have not had hot flushes but the mood swings could be bad at times. To be menopausal and having a preteen ...we're always clashing. dh has been our mediator most of the times. Dry skin-- I've always had dry skin but since my surgery it has been really bad. My ob/gyn mentioned that it's a part of it since my ovaries were also removed. She suggested Aveeno but that's not even helping-- any suggestions? Is there some vitamins I could take for my skin to at least not be this dry?

Only warm to tepid showering. Followed by creamy baby oil on damp skin. (It absorbs fully......not leaving you a sweat slick in the hot flashes) Drink LOTS of water. I apply petroleum jelly to problem areas. And also a regular hand lotion. Some of these help me.

For over three years, I had excessively heavy and long periods of bleeding. (10 to 20 days, with clots...) Followed by 35 to 40 days of nothing, except cramps. But then I started bleeding two days before Thanksgiving '06...... The bleeding stopped the day of the procedure: January 26, 2007. Thankfully, no menses.......no pain and especially no WHOOSHES of blood and clots. I'm so thankful that the surgery helped. Landabee, Wow, I can't imagine going through that. I am glad the surgery helped too.

I'm not really looking forward Winter this year because of the dryness in my skin.

Jodavi, Do you have thyroid problems? I don't have one and my skin gets horribly dry as a side effect.

It actually runs in the family but it's gotten worst since my surgery and ob/gyn asked if they removed my ovaries and she mentioned that it's one of the effects. I could see my derma but he prescribes creams that insurance would not cover and way too expensive so right now I'm just taking all kinds of creams and moisturizers. My Mom's bestfriend did not have dry skin but when she had the same surgery as mine and went straight to menopausal -- she had the same problem as well.

This is really embarassing and it's only because I trust you ladies so much that I'm asking.....does anyone else experience a vibration in their pelvic area. It feels like I put my phone on vibrate and stuck it in my underwear. It's right in front. And it only last a few seconds. It's extremely random, doesn't matter what I'm doing or if I'm sitting, standing, etc. It's not pleasurable, it's really annoying. I was afraid to look it up on the computer because I was afraid of what would come up on my screen if I searched for "pelvic vibrations."

Almost like a twitchy pinched nerve or something. I like your description of it. quote:
PS I don't blame you for not wanting to google "pelvic vibrations". LOL I'm with you on that one
