During the GT when my vehicle was towed twice that weekend (now I know why I didn't go), I discovered an 80something year old man who had never jump started a vehicle. I showed him how. I have too much practice with this.

I do have this, "Hey Honey"... Can you please put my sliding screen back on the sliders, so it actually slides?

While it's out, clean the sliders really well, top and bottom. The top goes in first and then the bottom lifts onto the slider rail. Give it a spritz of WD40 to keep it sliding well.

If the top is sitting on a roller then your rollers may need adjusting to keep it on the track.

I'd rehang them for you myself but my broken wrist won't allow that kind of strain.

Ah, yes, John, I've been meaning to ask you, how is the wrist?

Not too bad. Using the mouse is a problem as I tend to get sore quickly but for the most part it's just a minor inconvenience. Worst part is that I have to be extra special when picking up the Girl.

How much longer will you wear the cast?

2 1/2 to 6 1/2 weeks (I'm not eager to be free am I?)

I really expect it will be shorter rather than longer. I drink lots of milk and eat lots of cheese and tend to heal very quickly and it's a small fracture so it shouldn't take too long.

I'm going to the beach with the family in August so the cast will be off by 8/2.

Something that is easy to make!

Hey honey . . . I have an insurance adjuster coming to take a look at the haill damage on my house. The WHOLE HOUSE needed siding long before All Hail Broke Loose. However, only the back (good news, the ugliest, faded part) was damaged. Do you think I should walk around my house with a hammer and randomly swing?

(Kidding, kidding . . . I would never do that . . . though I am quite tempted!)

You guys are cracking me up.

I had a major emergency yesterday, and no honey to help me. When we got home last night, we discovered that the AC had died! We had to spend the night at a hotel. The maintenance guy came out today, and now it's nice and cool again. Ahhhh!! I am very thankful to whomever it was who invented AC!!

When the storm hit here a few years back I didn't see any damage on my roof at all. The adjuster however replaced the entire roof (and the garage roof!, and the gutters!).

Show them everything whether it looks damaged to you or not. Then let them decide what needs to be done, you may be pleasantly surprised. They may reside the whole thing so that it matches. Else the mismatch could degrade the value of the enitre house.

Honey, I think I need a new set of tires. I just had them rotated last week, but the car still shakes as if on unbalanced tires. I've never had to buy a full set before - where's the best place to go, and do they still offer lifetime warranties?

Where did you take the car to have the tires rotated?

If the shaking is the same as before and it is the tires then the staff at the place did not examine the tires when they examined them.

Do you have a regular place where you get the car serviced and they know you and you trust them. If they sell tires I would go there.

Other wise I would take it to a national auto parts dealer.

I took it to a pretty decent shop that I regularly go to get my oil changes. That's what they specialize in. I'm a little disappointed they didn't switch the tires differently. They just took the front tires and put them on the back - in the same order they were before. So the worn part is still on the outside. It's time to start shopping around. I'm thinking of Midas, but I've never been there before.

Are all four tires the same age?

No, I usually get one or two replaced at a time. The back two (now) are the oldest. The front two are actually in pretty good shape.

You should buy tires in pairs or all four. I would buy two and put them on the front wheels.

Thanks, Gary. I'd really hate to fork out all the money for four new tires. Do you know if they still offer lifetime warranties? I know some people who've had their tires replaced numerous times without having to pay.
