Yes, it does feel good to remember the fun things. Also today, Jeff's sister gave him some poems that his mom had written. (Several poets in his family btw, including Jeff).
Here's a prayer she wrote when I was pregnant with Josh...after losing the first two babies.

She had a few others written too on his 1 and 2nd birthday. It was neat to read them after all these years. 
What a precious poem.

Jeff's brother arrived today, so all the sibs were together this afternoon going through pictures to choose for display at visitation time and to decide who will do what at the service on Thursday. In going through the things Pearl saved they came across a poem that Jeff wrote to his mom and dad, he says it was either before he left for the service (he was drafted during Vietnam era...but did not go to Vietnam) OR after he returned. He was surprised there was no date on it.
Since I will be typing it up for him (it's hand written in very light pencil) I'll do it here so those interested can read it too. I was quite touched by it myself. You don't hear too many expressions to parents like this.

It's been a very long 2 weeks or so Trish and am now dealing with deep chest cold that came on all of a sudden (it seems) on Wednesday. The day after my physical and while sitting with my mom in the hospital. My mom was taken today to a nursing home for physical therapy, as the anesthesia took her longer to get it all out of her system and she was so lethargic. She's doing much better now and hopefully won't have to be at the Lutheran Home very long. They have an excellent reputation for their physical therapy program.
I'm just feeling overwhelmed and down a bit and that's why I haven't been posting much. I have so much to do and right now I don't feel good. But none of what I feel even comes close to what Angie overcomes each day so I don't intend to stay in my pit very long.
Speaking of Angie...She is having a scan this coming Monday. I haven't talked to her yet, but I am assuming then that her surgery sites are healing well.
Thanks for checking on me Trish. (((((Trish))))) I continue praying for you and John and Joan.

((((Catherine))))) I read in your thread that you took one of "those drives". I had to smile a little smile actually, at having that in common with you, especially when I was your age. I had a specific "route" I took when I needed to think things over, cry, or just plain need some solitude time.

Hi Mike :) My sister was sounding real bad Wednesday morning but her cold is much better already. If I am not breathing better tomorrow, I think I am going to urgent care.

I've taken the decongest/antihistimine but I also picked up a couple of packets from work of a cold tab that has an expectorant. I have to be careful, as my blood pressure has been high, and my doc is concerned about that and prescribed an additional diuretic (sp) which actually I don't think I need.
I would go to urgent care for a breathing treatment. I had one once before a few years back and it really helped.

Thank you all for the hugs and prayers. I am doing better on the cold thing and didn't go to clinic but am still considering talking to my doc this week. With the heat and humidity, the breathing thing is still not great so I get headaches.
I mentioned in Ben's thread this morning that my niece Angie is getting a CAT scan today. Prayers for her would be appreciated, for strength, calm and patience. It's hard to wait for results, (she sent an exerpt from a blog by a man who has been through many procedures, because he describes very well, what she feels when facing these scans and tests. She is geared up though to do whatever has to be done next.
