I could still have hair that long. It would jut start a little farther back on the skull than it used to.

Yeah, just like there's all sorts of parts on people's hair. A right part, left part, centre part and departed.

LOL! That's what WHN days too. Several years, he buzzed it as close to his head as he could get. He said he was tired of watching it go little by little and decided to get it over with...lol. Now he loves how easy it is and won't grow it back out. That's okay though...he's one of those men who looks great with no hair

Eric was excited to look in the mirror and examine himself and decide that his hair is receeding. He hates his hair. He doesn't shave it too close, but it's short enough he doesn't have to deal with it now.

My co-worker, a former marine, started shaving his head with a razor and shaving cream when he got out of the marines. He said when he realized how much hair he didn't have it was just easiest to shave it all off. So he shaves it on Sunday mornings before church.

wow, that is close! I like a little fuzz. :)

one time Daniel layed the scissors flat on his head and cut. I had to buzz it way down.

I was shocked to see all the new smaces!

It takes a brave [image]http://anchoredbygrace.com/gtchat/images/drillsergeant.gif[/image]man to shave his head with a razor. I know I'm way too [image]http://anchoredbygrace.com/gtchat/images/dancingchicken.gif[/image]

That does sound like a big step, Marsha, but I know you've talked about your hair thinning a lot, so can't say as I blame you. Have you tried on wigs to see if you could wear them -- I am quite sure I'd have ahard time with that cuz I get so hot . . . . . oooooohhh I like the new smilies

with thin hair, a wig might not be so hot. I know my gramma wore one, and she had very thin hair. The wig is made differently than when I was a kid, they are a lot more ....... oh man.....
ventilated?? I can't think of the word I want.

I haven't been to a wig shop. The mail-order ones don't look natural. Guees I figure unless my life ever takes a dramatic turn, it doesn't matter anyhow.

I'm sooo p***ed today. Don, living in his bi-polar state, sees everything is his own, twisted way. He tells people I caused the boys' problems by not letting him discipline the boys. He only tried when they angered him; then he hit too hard. I still think if I'd handn't interfered, they'd be much worse than they are.

Sometimes I wished I'd gone for the divorce when the boys were babes.

How long does God allow trials to go on?

How's come some people have perfect genes, happy lives, great sex with great spouses, great parents, great inlaws, great or no kids, while the rest of muddle thru'?

Marhsa, that's a question we all ask occasionally. We all have those things in our lives we aren't happy with and things that come along that devestate us. How long it goes on is the length of time it takes God to work His perfect plan in our lives and how ever long it takes to mold us into His image.

At our last camp training, our director shared a story of refining silver. It was about a group of ladies who were studying the scripture that talks about us becoming refined as precious gold and silver. One of them got curious about the actual process and visited a silversmith to watch him work. She was so surprised how careful he was with the lump of metal he held over the fire...he never ever took his eye off the metal through the entire process, even when it was painful and hot for him to be so close, he never turned away. She asked him why and he said, "you have to be very diligent to watch the metal...too long in the fire and the silver is damaged beyond repair and is worthless, but, if it isn't held in long enough, it can't become precious and valuable to me". She also saw that after awhile, he would lift the metal and look it over...sometimes he would put it back into the fire, and other times he would lift it out and set it carefully aside, for some polishing after it cooled down. She asked him how he knew when it was ready and he smiled and said "oh, that's easy...it's ready when I can see my image shining back at me"

Marsha no matter what you are facing, God's eyes are on you, and He won't let you stay in the fire any longer than than you can handle. His refining process in each of us is a little different. We don't know why, we just have to trust that he knows each of us and what is needed to make us more like Him. Don't forget, you are in his constant sight and under His careful watch, and He will take care of you during the process of refinement. And when he feels his goal is accomplished in you, he will carefully lift you out of the flame and His image will be shining in you....I see it already :)

I don't know how else I can encouragre you except to tell you to hang on and trust God to know what He is doing in your life. I am praying for you today.

(((Marsha))) Sorry you're feeling this way right now Marsha.

One thing I think I've learned and continually is confirmed for me is that many, many times what I think I saw as perfect genes, or great sex or seemingly perfect kids, husbands, in-laws etc in other's lives, is not always or really as it seemed on the surface. I have had several instances of this just in the past month with several people.

Sometimes, it really does "seem" unfair that others seem to have harder struggles than others, but then we are not able to "really" see what goes on or what someone is dealing with or dealt with in their lives by surface observations. I have been surprised many times to hear someone's story and have it be one that I would never have thought for that person.

Praying for you Marsha.

Marsha, Sharon said what I was going to say. Things just LOOK like they're perfect because we don't know the "perfect" person or couple well enough to see the imperfections. Even people we think we know really, really well can be really good at hiding what they don't want you to see or know.

Wonderful posts Karlie & Sharon! . . . and I'm not going to try to add to that, Marsha, but instead would just like to send you some of His promises. I know you own a Bible and can look up these verses for yourself, but sometimes it just helps to have them in front of you without having to search.

These are a few of my favorite verses and some I've found in a devotional I keep on my desk. The first is my own personal favorite, and one I find myself quoting when I feel things are just a mite rough -- or a whole lot rough. I hope these help.

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

"Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know," says the Lord. Jeremiah 33:3

A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all. Psalm 34:19

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for God who promised is faithful.
Hebrews 10:23

And we know that in all things God wordks for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isa 41:10

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart, says the Lord. Jeremiah 1:5

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me. The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me, your love, O Lord, endures forever -- do not abandon the works of your hands. Psalm 138:7-8

Hold to His promises, Marsha . . . let His strength be your strength, His peace be your peace . . . and know that many prayers are going up for you today.

((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((MARSHA))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

I'm sorry you're feeling so down right now. I agree with what the others have said.

I have some of those things that you have on your wish list, and yet I still struggle with trials. I know what you mean about asking how long the trials go on. I've been asking the same question. It seems to go on forever, but I know that God won't take me beyond what I can handle, although I'm sure it comes pretty darned close sometimes!

Hang in there, sis. There will be a time when it gets better. I don't know when, but I hold onto the hope that it will.

Great Verses Leah!! I thought I had posted this post before but must not have followed through after I had copied and pasted those verses in another program.
