I don't mind penguins. It's their fish breath that gets me.

I never been close enough to a penquin to smell their breathe at all. I do remember having a famous penquin photo that I mailed out to people a few years ago.

I've never had the opportunity to see a penguin close-up, but I've seen several documentaries about them. They're fascinating birds.

Trish's reference to their breath reminds me of a cartoon character (which one presently eludes me at the moment) whose teacher was Miss Fishbreath. Could it have been Calvin from "Calvin and Hobbes?"

I've never heard of Miss Fishbreath. I tried googling it, but didn't get anywhere.

I live farther south! Perhaps you could come here. (Of course, I think the winter days are too short and too cold, and I've lived in one part or another of Virginia all my life.)

.
.
.
........ this is wonderful musing!!

I've often told humbleinspirit to come live in my town!!! But it's not big enough for him!

It surely would be fun to end up in the same town as another Crosswalker... ya know?? ;o)

I seriously do have the hankerin to move... I've felt this way for at least 3 or 4 months now... it makes me wonder what God has in store for me!!

Further south? Well, there's still always Australia.

I did consider Australia at one point... just wasn't workin' out!! I'm still keeping my eye out for a visit, though!!!!

How funny to go from Australia to cooking fish breath!!!

My weekend was good... I didn't really do anything particularly amazing... but maaaaan o maaaaan.... it was just nice to do things at my own pace... and not have major obligations.

I'm thankful this is a short work week....

Oh yeah!!! I got up and walked this morning!!! It felt wonderful to get back out there and connect with God... my head is sooo filled with stuff... it took me at least 15 minutes to calm down and listen to him speak.... yowza.

Isn't it amazing how he can pack sooo much love into a couple of words??

I don't have a WOD or a VOD or even a TOD.... I'm just glad to be here....

Love you guys!!!

oh yes... I just wanted to

((( Sharon-Marie )))

... because I really appreciate her lately!

Well, My Word!!!

That was VERY nice of you, Rachel (and quite very timely also)! I thought it was a group hug; imagine my surprise when I actually read it. Thank you, very much! {{{Rachel}}}

BTW, have you done any searches on findyourspot? I'm still in the research phase . . . which is my main project this winter . . . to figure out where I'm relocating to.

Good morning, Rachel. I'm glad you had a good weekend.

The first part of my weekend was OK. I went dancing Friday night, although it was pretty routine. Saturday afternoon I attended a panel discussion on singleness and marriage sponsored by an outside ministry but hosted by my church. The discussion raised some interesting points. I'm wondering if it dredged up some personal stuff for me as I was absolutely miserable yesterday. I was on the verge of tears while shopping at Kmart and the grocery store last night. For me, this is very unusual behavior.

I'll have to check out the site you and Shar-Mar were talking about. I've started thinking about where I should relocate when I retire - that is, if I can afford to retire.

What state is "AS"? Do they mean Alaska or American Samoa?

When I retire I am going to stay where I am at, most of the time. But I would like to spend winters in warmer climate like South Texas.

AP stands for either the Associated Press, accounts payable or, if used as an address, Armed Forces Pacific.

For the benefit of Rachel, myself and others, here is a list of American state, territorial and other postal abbreviations.

Looking over the city name associated with "AS", I think they mean "AR" or Arkansas.

DS - did you put a link in your last post? I couldn't find it.

OK . . .

AL - Alabama
AK - Alaska
AZ - Arizona
AR - Arkansas

Say, do any of y'all remember the song where it's just the states being sung, in alphabetical order? I don't know why but I love to sing that song!

CA - California
CO - Colorado
CT - Conneticut

Sometimes, I sing it while I'm washing the dishes.

DE - Delaware

FL - Florida

GA - Georgia

HI - Hawaii

BTW, did you know that you can do findyourspot apparently an infinite number of times?

ID - Idaho
IL - Illinois
IN - Indiana
IA - Iowa

I've been taking the quizzes on findyourspot for probably just about a year now (maybe longer; maybe shorter; but roughly a year).

KS - Kansas
KY - Kentucky

Sometimes I change some of the variables to see what different places pop up.

LA - Louisiana

It's actually been quite an interesting project; I've learned a lot.

ME - Maine
MD - Maryland
MA - Massachusetts
MI - Michigan
MN - Minnesota
MS - Mississippi
MO - Missouri
MT - Montana

Surely I'm not the only one that knows this song. EVERYONE sing with me!

NE - Nebraska
NV - Nevada
NH - New Hampshire
NJ - New Jersey
NM - New Mexico
NY - New York
NC - North Carolina
ND - North Dakota

If I remember correctly, I learned it in grade school; I'm thinking around the 5th grade . . . but 5th grade was a few years ago for me. Over 30 of 'em, in fact.

OH - Ohio
OK - Oklahoma
OR - Oregon

And the reason why I remember the abbreviations is because it was very much drilled into me when I was going through the Legal Secretarial Program . . . versus the poor girls who were doing it illegally . . .

PA - Pennsylvania

RI - Rhode Island

Ahh, memories. The last time I was in any type of formal education was during my Legal Secretarial Program . . . which was 20+ years ago.

SC - South Carolina
SD - South Dakota

Uhm??!!! Over 20 years ago???!!! Why surely that can't be right! I'm only 28 as it is.

TN - Tennessee
TX - Texas

Hey! If you're gonna fib about your age, fib big!

UT - Utah

Say, how many of y'all remember when the abrreviations were 3 letters? i.e., FLA for Florida

VT - Vermont
VA - Virginia

And going back even further, how many of y'all remember when telephone numbers were only 3 digits?

WA - Washington
WV - West Virginia
WI - Wisconsin
WY - Wyoming

Well, this has been fun; I hope you've enjoyed it as well.
