ORIGINAL: Dinana Triumphant and the Booth Brothers were fabulous last night. Both groups sang so well, but I would have to say that one of my most favorite parts of the program is when they sang together - totally unrehearsed - with just the 2008 Singing News Fan Awards Musician of the Year to accompany them on the grand piano! Jeff also gave us a preview of one of the song medleys he's going to be playing at Shipshewana with Dino, Kim Collingsworth and others. David and the rest of the TQ guys also gave us a preview of what David will be singing next week at the SGMA induction ceremony --- Oh, What a Savior! Excellent concert! I enjoyed both groups singly and together. It got kinda fun when they were trying to decide which songs to sing together because they had definitely not decided in advance! They just sounded great on most of the songs, the Lighthouse, Beulah Land, and others that I can't remember. I would suggest, however, that they leave "'Til the Storm Passes By" for Gerald Wolfe. NOONE can sing it like him! I was very happy to hear that TQ had changed their program a LOT and included a large number of their newer songs. Of course, they HAVE to do "White Flag of Surrender" and "I Know I'm Going Home," but they brought in a lot of songs from their newer CDs/DVDs, too. I wrote up some of my thoughts about the Booth Brothers in the BB thread. Very, very good concert.

Saw the Talleys and Greater Vision last night in Aurora, IN. It was outside, by the Ohio River, and FREEZING! I only wore a sweatshirt and oh my. People were out there with comforters trying to keep warm. By the encore songs I think there was about 10 people left in the audience. It was just too cold! On top of that I had to go to the bathroom since 5pm!! I REFUSED to use a port-a-potty! So I didnt get a bathroom till about 11pm! Cold, shaking, and having to go to the bathroom really bad does not make for an enjoyable show! haha. They tried to put big heaters up on the stage for the singers and Lauren had a sore throat so the cold wasnt helping her much. I didnt get any pics of Greater Vision..sorry! My batteries died..put in new ones and those died then too! So much for electronic extra lasting batteries! Here are the pics I did get: http://heatherranah.myphotoalbum.com/view_album.php?set_albumName=album67

Nice pix, Heather. Lauren looks great! I can't imagine how hard it must be to sing when it's that cold! I hope they don't all end up sick!

All I had was a sweatshirt on. Never DREAMED it would get that cold on oct 2! I was shaking to no end and Debra told me I was gonna end up sick! She told mom to get me back to the car before I did wind up sick. Didnt work haha. If anyone has something I'm bound to catch it..the weather changes I'm bound to get sick. I have the weakest immune system known to man. Went to see Greater Vision, Collingsworth Family, and Triumphant Quartet tonight in Circleville, OH. My mom went up and gave Kim a hug afterwords and she didnt remember who she was till she saw me. Once she saw me she knew my mom. She said your only known by your daughter! LOL on our way out my moms like well at least I'm known someway! haha. My mama..shes too much.

They didnt Thursday night either of course by the encore there like like 10 people left and when Talleys were singing then Greater Vision was tearing down and visa versa. I was kinda shocked they didnt last night though. Maybe couldnt fit everyone on the stage! dunno Oh! but they had one group..the Tobler Brothers and they had Mary Jane Carter as their special guest on one song.

We saw Triumphant Qt. at Fairfield, IL, this afternoon. It is the first time we saw them this year, having seen them last at the Miracle Theater in July of 07, and one other time at Dix, IL, in the Spring of 07. Basically, they are about as good as it gets, when it comes to traditional male quartets. They have great voices and harmony, great style, and a ministering presence. I really like (as did most of the crowd, judging from the reaction) "Old White Flag". Another highlight for me was Eric singing "He Loves Me", accompanied only by the other guys and Jeff on the keyboard. That remains one of my favorite songs from the Greater Vision quartets album, and it is the first time I heard Eric sing it live. I asked him about it last year at the Miracle Theater and he told me then to request it when they came back to S IL. I did not get the chance to do that today, so I was pleasantly surprised that they had it in their lineup. I could go on, but the essence is that Triumphant Quartet could be a model for any group starting out. They are a bunch of very talented, very personable, and very professional guys. I look forward to their return to our part of the world.

I saw The Dove Brothers Saturday night near Shallotte NC! They were as usual wonderful! Sang some of the new Life CD songs, Never the Same CD (I Can Pray) and some older songs from a earlier CD, all were great! All of the guys were in top form! They all seem to get better and better! Loved Jerry M singing "Look for Me at Jesus Feet",love to hear him hit that high note, Can't say enough good things about The Dove Brothers!

I saw Brian Free & Assurance and Cross4Crowns yesterday. BF&A gave a very nice performance. I was glad to hear several songs from their new hymns album. They featured Jeremy a lot and he seemed to be very relaxed and sang very well. This concert was after lunch, so I don't know whether the people just weren't too responsive or whether they were sleepy!! Really, it was a good concert and I'm glad I got to go. Then I wandered on across town to see Cross4Crowns for the first time. I was particularly pleased to see and hear Dallas Rogers again. Their music was new to me and I really enjoyed the service. I think the highlight was Blessed Assurance featuring Dallas. I'll try to get some videos posted pretty soon. I'm still learning how to convert and edit the files from my new video camera.

Had a private concert yesterday with Balsam Range, the bluegrass group that Tim Surrett is a member of. Had 3 sets of 45 minutes each. Those guys are awesome! Got to talk with Tim quite a bit, so that was a thrill to get to talk with one of your SG heroes.....

Saw The Greeson's at Shield Baptist Church in Chickamauga and they were wonderful as always. There may be a few singers out there that are technically better but I don't believe there are any groups that are more Spirit filled as they sing the songs of praise and encouagement. There is no doubt that these are people with a close relationship with their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Joey, Karen and Darrel Demastus' son is getting better and better each time I hear them and is the featured singer some of their best songs, There's Still My Joy, I Shall Return, and Sinner's Prayer Tony Dykes is looking much better and gave a great testimony about his bout with cancer. His cancer count which was at 352 in April is now under 10. If you get a chance to see them in concert you will get a blessing. They have their anniversary singing coming in November on the 7th & 8th At the Walker County Civic Center in Rock Spring, GA about 10 miles north of Lafayette. They'll have the Primative Quartet on the first night and the Singing Cookes and Testimony Quartet( out of Chattanooga) with them on the 2nd night.

I'm still trying to get caught up on my videos and comments from all of my September and early October concerts, so I've posted a review and video links of the Golden Moments concert featuring Brian Free, Garry Jones and Ivan Parker over at www.sgconcerts.com.

Saturday I saw the McKamey's two times at Dollywood. Also saw Tony Gore, he sang my favorite Tony Gore song "Watch And See". Saw The Gospel Enforcer too. Was a very good day of singing, makes me want to see more groups. Which I am going to do Mondays and Tuesday's at Dollywood.

I went to two concerts for THE OLD PATHS on Saturday. The first one was in Lawrenceville, GA at Meadow Baptist Church's Open House. They are moving into a new building on October 26th. The concert was great. The seconds one was in Loganville, GA at Sanctuary Baptist Church (formerly Oakwood Baptist Church). Those of you familiar with Mark Fuller, he was the piano player for Oakwood in the late 90s. THE OLD PATHS were great. The concert was hosted by Danny O'Day (WCON in Cornelia, GA). The other groups there were: Gospel Way Singers, Leah Murray (from Sanctuary Baptist Church), Brian Burchfield & Mark Fuller. I only enjoyed Mark Fuller & THE OLD PATHS. I really enjoyed hearing Mark sing 'Remind Me Dear Lord', written by the talented Dottie Rambo. I hope to get to see THE OLD PATHS again October 18th in Dacula, GA at Heartland. They will be performing with Gold City.
