What wonderful news about Ashley, Leah! Getting involved in the church at such a young age, is absolutely gonna be so rewarding! I'm thrilled for her!

Pengie, (first) I say 'thank you' for sending your blessings my way. You're such a 'Sweetie'! Thumbelina is adorable! She's not 'Little Bit' nor will she take Little Bit's place; but I'm sure as she develops her own personality she'll become just as precious to you! (Your dh gets a star for this action!)

Ron, I'm glad to hear about your mom's little companion, Bridgett. Hopefully, she's enjoying happier days again! Maybe you want to consider getting your DW a little dog; if that's what she's hinting at. But I wouldn't consider turning loose of that beautiful Husky (pictured in your avatar), if that's what you have now. My sister had one for years and they're irreplaceable, if you ask me. We love 'em!

Not to leave anyone out of my thoughts...

Hello, Maggie and Trish! Hope you ladies are doing o.k.

Hi everybody.

Got a voice that comes and goes at the moment, but I'm managing.

How about all of you?

Thanks Ron, and to you too Zondie. I know she isn't Little Bit, but my heart is big enough for Little Bit and Thumbelina too ( and let's not forget my ever faithful Oreo!)

I need help this morning. This is hard to ask, but we need prayer, no my husband needs prayer. You see we discovered $1000 was illegally withdrawn form his checking account and the bank can't trace the source.
We needed that money to pay the mortgage, groceries and assorted medical bills. My husband has spiraled down into a deep depression like I haven't seen in years. He only got out of bed twice yesterday to use the bathroom and never ate a thing. With his Bipolar/depression illness, who knows how long he could be down? Or where it could lead?

I know he is a tough and sometimes cruel man who places way too much focus on money. (Last night he told me he had nothing to live for) But, if you think of him (or me) today, would you please say a little prayer?
Thanks!

Lord Jesus, please bring that money back to them. They need it! And Pengie needs her husband to be well. Amen.

I'll keep praying, Pengie.

Father God,
I lift my sister Pengie and her husband up before your throne tonight. You know the situation more intimately than she can describe it to us, and even better than her husband is feeling it.

Lord, you are the Alpha and the Omega. In you all things had their beginning, and nothing shall be unless it is in your will or can serve your purpose.

Lord Jesus, I know Pengie's husband has had -- nay, is still having -- struggles with the issues we have been told about. But I know in my heart that he is trying! Honor his heart Father. If it is your will that they recover this money, I am confident that they will praise you for it! But if it is not, maybe you will show them that in You, all things live and move and have their being. Give them this opportunity to more fully trust in you Father God! Bless them more abundantly than a mere $1,000. Help them to know that you have their every need in the palm of your hands.

In your precious name we pray, Amen!

Small bit of explanation about my avatar: I am a big fan of author Fr. Martin Bell, who has written several collections of short stories. One of the constants in Fr. Bell's stories is the image of God portrayed as a great silver wolf. My screen name "Hatfield" is also from one of those stories. With the author's permission, I have posted "The Legend of Hatfield" in my FCN blog, Hatfield's little corner of the WWW So the story is the story of every man's journey in search of God. Fr. Bell shows that we will not find God at a destination, in the process of going through our lives, He will find us. So my avatar is me. I have my hand upon the wolf's back to show that I am a follower of God through His Son Jesus. I am wearing a sword because my life is full of challenges that I need to face. I will leave you the challenge of figuring out what the bunny is. (Hint: Its another of Fr. Bell's stories )

My real life dog? Her name is Rosie. She's half dalmatian and half chow-chow. She has the body of the dalmatian, but she's all one color, dark grey.

Thank you all so much for your prayers. It means so much.

Maggie, I didn't post this in your thread because you are already so burdoned. Thank you kindly for taking the energy and focus to pray for us. I know this is petty compared to your struggles. I continue to pray for you and your family, too.

Thumbelina is a spitfire! Bouncing here and there. Taking on 80 lb Oreo (who is VERY gentle with her, lol). Running my cat, Reesie around. She has pretty much taken over the house! She adores my daughter.
Thank God she sleeps well at night and potty training is coming along well.

Pengie, it's so good to hear you enjoying Thumbelina -- she sure sounds like a little spitfire . . . . . new pets are such a spirit-lifter, aren't they

Thanks Maggie. My husband has been moody and gloomy, but seems to be coping. How we are going to pay the bills . . . I don't know.

On a happy note, Thumbelina got a clean bill of health from my vet today! She weighs a whooping 2.7 lbs @ 12 weeks old. (and she still keeps up with Oreo!)

I can just imagine what that looks like, her trying to keep up with the larger dog. Must be fun to watch.

Oh, it's a hoot! He just trots along and she runs full speed slong side, those little legs going as fast as they can and her long white fur flying in the breeze. Oreo just barely breaks a stride.
He has made a great puppy-sitter, though. She is trying to do all the things he does. Good thing he is well trained

Had to call the vet today, as my puppy got a little sick. Thank God it turned out to be miner, but it did cost a vet bill. (Money we really don't have right now.) The DR fixed her up just fine and now she is back to her bouncy self. She just had a little tummy trouble.

Speaking of tummy trouble . . . it looks like my almost 17 yr old daughter is already being diagnosed with endometriosis. She even has cramping and vomiting between cycles. The Dr is trying hormone therepy, but it looks like a laperoscopy may well be in her near future.

Had an aunt pass away this week. She had been blind her entire life. My mother said to me "Now she can see."

Hi Pengie . . good to see you here cuz I was just wondering today how you were doing. I'm sorry to hear about your aunt, but your mom's right -- now she can see. I'm glad Thumbelina is ok too. I'm too tired right now or I'd tell you about my daughter's new dogs -- maybe tomorrow.

That's terrible about your daughter . . I've always heard endo can be so painful. Hopefully, they will do something right away so she won't have to suffer thru too many more months.

Ok, I'm up in the middle of teh night and really sleepy, so must get back to bed.

Hi Leah, Pengie, everybody.

Pengie, sorry to hear about your aunt. I agree that now she can see.

I'm trying to imagine seeing Thumbelina keeping up with the other dog. I'm glad she's doing better now.

I really feel for your dd. I've had endo, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I hope they can do something about it asap.

Hi Leah and the rest of you dear ladies! I 'took' a minute to login so as none of you would think I wasn't coming back!

I've (again) been SOOOO busy!!! I'll not go into everything going on, just let ya know I'm (we're) doing a little 'Winterizing'; inside and outdoors. I'm worn to a frazzle! Any of you getting things ready for the cold weather? Like, maybe putting the Spring clothes away and bringing out the warm stuff? I like Winter clothes a lot better than I do the Summer ones. I like covering up. I'm past the age to wanna show much skin.

Pengie, I'll be praying for your dd. I'm sorry to hear that she's suffering with endometriosis. I'm told it's 'very' painful, my heart goes out to her.

I agree with your mom! PTL! My sil had a grandma who was blind her entire life, also. I went with her to visit one time and was totally amazed! This little woman was cooking and without any help! They told me she insisted on doing things herself and hardly needed assistance with anything! Went one more time after that (before she passed away) and she still remembered me---by my voice! I'm so glad they both can see now! And can only imagine what and who they're viewing!!! GLORY, TO OUR AWESOME AND WONDERFUL GOD!

I'm anxious to hear more about Thumbelina Pengie and the dogs your dd got, Leah! Gotta 'git'. Have a blessed Sabbath, everybody!

Here in TX, our winter clothes are pretty much just our summer clothes with longer sleeves or sweatshirts over the t-shirts. LOL!!! The only real winter clothing item we have to get out is our coat.

Although, I do have to buy new sweats for the kids every year. They have a habit of growing every year....drives me nuts, but what can you do?

Hi there Trish, Maggie, Zondie & Beckey! Good to see you all in here while I was playing hookey

Winter clothes . . hmmmmm . . . . well, I don't wear a lot of long sleeves in the winter, so I will put very little away, and have very little to get out of my clothes; but there will be more of Bill's to exchange. Guess I better plan a trip to the attic soon. The harder part of winterizing around here is getting the storm windows back up on the 3 doors. probably do that in the next weekend or two.

I have a friend here this weekend, and we've been having fun! Yesterday we spent two hours at a health food store with the store owner who did a thorough consult with me -- free of charge!. I got some vitamins, enzymes, supplements, etc., and a detox system that I'm hoping that what I bought will put me on the road to better health -- and take care of this skin problem -- diagnosed as hand excema, so I won't need to get the injections I'm scheduled for the last of November. I called for the appt last Friday, and that was the earliest I could get in, but I so dread going for them that I'm going to try this first. Anyway, we'll see.

Gotta run . . . . in the words of Zondie -- everyone have a blessed Sabbath!
