Hi there Zondie, Pengie & Marsha! Zondie, I'm sorry to hear about your son . . please know I've already prayed and will continue to pray -- that things start functioning properly and this doesn't have to be done. You are always so bright & cheery, and it's easy to temporarily forget that you care for your disabled son. Please come in as often as you can -- and don't hesitate to remind us to pray for you and your family. Pengie, I'm so glad you & your daughter are able to have this time toghter. It does sound like she's maturing quite well. Contrary to what many ppl believe, hardships don't always twist kids the wrong way -- many times they help them mature into a person who can face the adversities of life without falling apart. They know at a young age that life can be hard, and they adjust their thinking to include that fact. It sounds like your daughter is very adept at this already. Being able to have these talks with you will go a long way to helping in that area. Marsha, it had to be difficult to watch/hear your husband doing that. And yes, you've told us enough in here that I know your boys love you deeply. Boys mature so much slower than girls, generally speaking. I've watched yours maturing thru your posts, and know you must be very proud of the progress they've made. They've faced some tough obstacles with Don, but they both seem to still have deep affection for him. That speaks a lot about the way you've raised them. I'm off to bake some blackberry cobblers . . . Bill wanted to take one of his bosses (who'd expressed a love for blackberries yesterday) a bowl of my fresh picked blackberries. So he did. When he handed it to him, his boss says, tell Linda she belongs to me! . . . I told Bill to tell him it took much more than that to own me. Then Bill also told him I was making a cobbler and would send him a piece. Well, the other bosses wife was nearby, and heard that, so she pipes up & says, "tell her it better be more than a 'piece.' " . . . . . . so, it looks like I'll be making a couple of cobblers today. Owell.

Leah, thanks for the kind words regarding my daughter. I hope she continues to hold up under the pressures of our family life. Marsha, thanks for the high praise - tho I'm not sure I've earned it! Zondie, you and your son continue to be in my prayers.

Hi Maggie, Zondie, Pengie & Trish! How are all of you today? I wound up going blackberry picking again yesterday because it was so nice out -- only about 78 degrees, and no sun. Picked another (almost) 5 quarts. No, Trish, not catering. I don't like to cook that much. Today, I'm cleaning our bedroom . . it was so DUSTY (aa-aa-aa-chooooooooooooo!!) . . got it dusted & vacuumed tho, and the sheets are in the dryer. I took all the knick-knacks to the kitchen sink to wash, and those are now draining on a towel, probably ready to put back in the dressers, etc. I didn't take time to dust all the photos on the walls tho -- guess I'll do that another day.

You had a lot of hair, Linda. I think I was still bald at that age.

Hi Leah. Are there still blackberries to be picked or have you picked them all? Pengie....that was nice of you to spend time with your hubby when he was lonely and needed you especially since most of the time he's not available for you. Zondie...how is your son? Ginny

LOL Mike . . I'm sure your baby pictures are just as cute -- you should find one a post it. Yes, Maggie, I did have a lot of hair, but I'm sure it had been cut a time or two by the time I was that age cuz I have earlier pictures in which it looked longer than that. Ginny! It's so good to see you in here -- We've been missing you! Ok, I'm just up switching beds, so better find my new one or I'll be too awake to go back to sleep

I seriously doubt that, Mike . . . haven't seen many ugly babies in my time I'm off to do Saturday errands . . . hate doing errands on Saturday, but I've put them off all week, so now I gotta pay the piper -- besides, Bill is going to breadfast with me, so that will help me get started.

Thanks Mike, Trish & Beckey! . . . I did have a great day! It was way too hot out, but we got the shopping done, came home & put all the groceries away . . Bill even helped me re-wrap the meat -- I always buy large packages of meat then divide them into smaller packages & re-wrap it all, so it takes me a while to get it all put away. With him helping, tho, it goes so much faster. Actually, he started doing that recently cuz he was in the kitchen once when I was getting VERY frustrated with the plastic wrap (you'd think someone could have come up with a better systerm for that by now, wouldn't ya?) When we finished with that, I went back to town to get some things at Walmart, and to have the AT&T rep copy my phone info from my old phone to my new one -- I had to have it replaced cuz it went bad. That took a little while; then I finished my shopping there, made a quick stop at the Dollar General, and headed back home. Spent the rest of the day relaxing and trying to cool off. It was so hot out today! And it's always 10-15 degrees hotter in town than out here -- feels like it anyway Tonight we had friends in for cards (I won!!) . . then we had homemade, fresh peach cobbler & vanilla bean ice cream. They just left. A good day, and now I'm real close to getting ready for bed.

Leah, I'm really glad you had such a good day. We do that too. Buy meat in bulk, then split it up into smaller portions when we get home. Sleep well, Leah.

Ginny, my son is doing some better. Thanks for asking and thanks for all who's been praying. Leah, I served the exact same dessert to my guests Friday night! And I too, buy the larger packs of meat and re-wrap them for the freezer when I get home. It's cheaper that way, and I love a good bargain or just a way to fit more into our budget. The way prices are raising on everything now-a-days, one's gotta stretch that dollar until the president screams! BTW: I've been meaning to ask, "How's little Garrett doing?" You've not mentioned him in a while. Pengie, I hope you've gotten some rest by now. Tell your dd hello from me and that I still pray for her (when I'm praying for you) also. Hello, Mike, Maggie, Trish and Becky!
