I can hardly type this without crying. It was just so unexpected, and such a loving gesture --- oh much MORE than a gesture! How blessed you are to have such thoughtful and caring family! Thank God for all they've done for the family during this time! I could hardly read this post without crying myself. It reminded me of how (in times like these), when I was growing up; people always took the time to console the family and do whatever they could to comfort them. Love like this is hardly displayed anymore. So, it gave me joy to hear how this all turned out. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us. I'll continue to pray about the hardships that lie ahead, that this family is gonna have to face. I'm fully trusting in God to carry them through and also to shower blessings upon them. Prayerfully, the sudden call on your brother's life, will begin others in the family, to thinking about 'WHO' it is that we owe our very lives to! Ronny's death may lead so many others to life. Life with our Savior!

Linda, that was beautiful and not preaching at all. What a gift those friends of Randy and Ronnie gave you and your family! What an example to the rest of us! I can't imagine doing something like that--or paying for all the food, canopies, plates/cups/cutlery and more. Wow! And I agree. We need to be praying for those we love, that they will choose God. Bless you!

Leah, I just came in here to check on you and found your beautiful post. Thankyou so much for sharing that with us. What a blessing to have your family cared for in that way and what an example. I agree with Maggie. That wasn't preachy at all. Just simply beautiful.

Thank you again, Maggie, Zondie, Mike, Beckey & Trish. It's so good to have the support you guys give in here. I went to church this morning and was really blessed by the moving of the Holy Spirit that took place. We had a guest speaker, as the pastor is on vacation, and he wasn't as good as our pastor, of course, but the I felt a strong move of the Spirit as soon as I walked in, and it continued throughout the song service and into the sermon. It was sure good to be there after such a long difficult week. I'm feeling the late night, tho . . . many of my family has always been night owls, and once I get past a certain point, I can run with the best of them. That point is usually 11:00 or thereabouts. Last night I went to my brother's again for one last get-together with some of my siblings before they all return to their respective homes. It was HOT! Finally cooled down around 9:00 to something more bearable . . . . I didn't have any trouble staying awake beyond the 11:00 -- likely due to the 2 HUGE cups of McD's coffee I'd had thru the day/evening -- so I wound up staying until 1:30 or so. Bill was waiting up for me, a little concerned and a lot lonely . . we wound up staying up and talking for a while, so it was after 3:00 a.m. when I finally got to sleep -- I suspect later than that for Bill . . . . I've felt rather loopy all day. I started this before I lay down for a nap . . now I'm feeling slightly better, but sheesh! I can't do those late nights like I used to

I remember the late nights. Actually I still do the late nights. LOL! Back then though, I was a morning person. Not now though. Things certainly change. Before, I could do it because I was young. Now, it's because I can't sleep.

LOL Mike. I do remember those days -- have to admit the memories are rather faint, but still there nonetheless. But I honestly don't think I'd want to go back to 18, or 25 or even 35 . . . maybe -- just maybe 45. But really, all I really want is to have the energy I had back them. However, I'm more like Trish said these days -- I do plenty of late nights, just not by choice. I'm trying to catch up from last week. Seems we ran all week, and the house got rather neglected. So I've swept & mopped the living room, dining room, kitchen and sitting room, did a load of clothes and have the dishwasher running. Now I'm ready for a long break. Can't be too long, tho, cuz gotta come up with something for supper. Have whole chicken breasts thawed, but sure don't know what to do with them One of my brother's friends -- probably the main one in charge of the dinner the other day -- was supposed to come over early this morning & go blackberry picking, but we were having severe storms at that time, so that got put off. Haven't talked to her, so don't know if she wants to do it later this week or not. A friend & I went Saturday and picked 6 gallons. We had to make ourselves stop -- there were just too many for us to get in one trip. I was exhausted a good part of the day from that 3 hour escapade

{{{{{{{{{{TRISH}}}}}}}}}}}} . . . . thank you for being so faithful to come in here, Trish. That means a lot to me. I read your blog -- I keep hoping to hear that you are doing better. It seems so unfair that this pain has gone on for you for so long. I do hope they new doctor will give a correct diagnosis and that you can be treated successfully for it. {{{{{{{PENGIE}}}}}}}}}} . . so good to see you here. Thank you so much for the prayers . . I know prayer is what has been carrying me the last week. Some days are harder than others, but mostly I'm trying to remain thankful for the years we had with Ronny, and concentrate on appreciating what I have left with my other siblings. Nothing like a death to put petty differences into persepective. I'm sorry you don't have a better relationship with your dh, Pengie. I can hear the longing for that closeness in your posts, and know that could be so fulfilling to you and your husband -- and quite healing. Seems to me he probably needs it as badly as you do, but just doesn't realize it. I'm glad you are developing the closeness with your daughter. That will be very important to you both in the years to come. Enjoy that cleaning lady! I've been trying to catch up on housework all day, and sheesh it's been hot! About to get it under control now -- just put the last of the rugs back down in the living room, and am going to mop the bathroom, then empty the water and put the mop away. Ready to relax for awhile . . tho I've still not decided what to do with those chicken breasts for supper

Hello everyone. I finally caught up on the posts! It's sure good to hear from all of you! Leah, you amaze me with all that energy! You're always into doing something! That's really a blessing though, huh? I know of some people who'd love to be able to stay 'busy', but their health won't allow it. So we need to count our blessings and be more thankful; that's for sure! Those blackberries got my mouth to waterin'! I love blackberry cobbler! I don't get to go picking anymore though. (Don't stay away from the house very long at a time, coz ds may need me.) But other people around here usually have them for sale. And since this season brought in a plentiful crop...I'm guessing that they'll be around before long. I don't know what you finally came up with, to do with those chicken breasts, but I have to share with you all what I fixed for supper for my family tonight. We had, (what I call), a garden meal. Fresh green beans and new potatoes, cole slaw, corn on the cob, sliced cucumbers and tomatoes, fried bacon and cornbread. (Bacon...coz it was requested, usually the meal consists only of fresh veggies!) It's a country meal that God blesses us to have during the Summer, that we all enjoy. (He's so WONDERFUL!) Usually, when I have new potatoes, I fix them with gravy. But I did that with the last ones I had, so I just fixed them with the beans this time. Do any of you like the garden meals? Or is this just a "Kuntry Thang"? BTW: I'm keeping all of you who are sick, in pain or going through struggles in their lives, in my prayers. Pengie, even though you're going through tough times...it's so good to hear from you!

Hey there, Zondie . . . your "garden meal" has MY mouth watering! We have had meals very similar to that. Bill MUST have meat of some sort, tho, so I'd fix the bacon or something similar also. I love green beans & new potatoes -- we had a huge roaster pan of those at the funeral dinner Thursday -- so good! As far as my chicken breasts, I haven't fixed them yet. I went in to do so, opened the fridge for something and realized I had a chicken-rice casserole left in there along with some other leftovers, so used those for tonight. So now I get to ponder how to use the checken breasts for tomorrow. I'll make two meals of the, most likely, cuz it's a big package -- even then, each meal will serve us at least 2 nights. I don't cook every night of the week. Thankfully, Bill likes leftovers, so I nearly always make enough for 2 meals. I will likely get up early in the morning and go pick the berries. There are so many of them over there, and I can't stand to think about them going to waste, so will keep trying to get as many as I can. I had them on my cereal this morning, snacked on them all day, then had some on my ice cream tonight Zondie, I don't know where you get that I have much energy -- I really feel like I have so little. What I do apparently sounds like much more than it really is. The floors are the new wood laminates we just laid this spring, and are very easy to sweep/dust & mop. Actually, today I spent a good deal of time reading, before & after cleaning. I read 3 days worth of Bible readings (got behind on that also) this morning, spent some time in my prayer book, then still had time to read quite a lot in the Ted Dekker novel I just picked up Saturday. It's the 2nd in the series, and really is good. Thank you for all your prayers, Zondie. They are much appreciated -- and needed!

{{{{{{{{{PENGIE}}}}}}}}}}}} . . . . complain all you want here. We'll listen and pray -- besides, it's always a delight to log on here in the morning and find a post from you. I can imagine that must be very, very frustrating & discouraging for you. Why don't you & your daughter go out together once in a while -- would that be a possibility? I'm sure it must be very lonely for you. Good morning everyone. I'm waiting on daylight to go blackberry picking. I think it may be coming a bit late this morning -- it looks very overcast out there. I did see a handful of starts scattered amongst the clouds when I peeked out at 5:00, but it looked pretty cloudy. Not a whole lot of air stirring either. The temp says 76, so I'm going to try it, but I think I'll only take one bucket, forcing myself to come back when I get it full.

3 days and counting what, Beckey?? Oh! I bet it's your daughter's birthday, huh I like the berries fresh or in a cobbler. Made some jam 2-3 years ago, but we're not big jam/jelly eaters, so these I will just freeze fresh. I just enjoyed a bowl of them with sugar & milk on them -- ummm ummmmm good!

How wonderful that you have that. You are a good mother, obviously. My husband verbally abused our sons, as well as myself. My boys are 17 and 20, at that independent stage. Still, their love for me shows enough to keep me going.
