Hi {{{{{{{{{Trish}}}}}}}}}} . . . I'm so sorry you continue to have problems with your health. It sure seems like some ppl have an awful lot of burden to carry I wish I could say the sewing has been going great, but truthfully, I've not done any yet today . . . my SIL called this morning and invited me to go to a greenhouse with her. We've not been together one time this spring/summer -- usually by now we've made at least 2-3 trips. And I'd never gotten all my plants, or even most of them for the summer, so, in a moment of weakness, I consented . . . turns out the greenhouse we chose had just started a 50% off sale . . . now I am several $$ poorer, and many plants richer . . . I'm waiting on a sewing customer to show up then I'll go get some of the plants potted or stuck in teh ground, water & feed them good, and come in and collapse . . . maybe after resting I really can get back to my sewing -- we shall see I did manage to get the floors swept & mopped before I left, so have a little bit to show for the day

Hey Leah! I think I'm going to try to sew Miss Evelyn a simple summer dress if I can find a pattern easy enough.

I'm doing good. My seasonal job is done for now and I'm trying to get back on a more normal sleep schedule. It's not easy though...I tend to want to nap throughout the day, and then I can't get to sleep when I go to bed. I think I just need to start setting the alarm and make myself get up early and get busy.

When I tried to work nights, my life was such a mess. I spent most of my 'off' time trying to get enough sleep to work. Nothing got done. I could not have handled it with kids in the house, for sure. I'm a morning person. If I want to really accomplish anything for the day I need to AT LEAST get started in the morning, then I may be able to keep going. If I don't get started til afternoon, I won't get anything done. I love naps! . . . short cat-naps (power naps nowadays) can get me thru many a long day

Hi there, Pengie! That sounds like a pain in the jaw -- Ouch!! I hope the packing does it's job quickly. They had wonderful hanging baskets on sale there yesterday, but I honestly don't do so well with hanging baskets. I think it's a combination of not having the greatest places to hang them, and not watering them daily. They sure were tempting, tho -- $7 apiece . . quite a bargain! I didn't sleep well last night, and finally just gave it up around 4:00. So now I've finished my Bible study time and think I'll head outside to plant the rest of my flowers then TRY to come in and start sewing. I've said that the last 2 days and it hasn't happened yet, so we'll see.

I don't do power naps. I need a proper sleep, or as closely to it as possible.

Hi Pengie! So much for getting up early (today at least)....I woke up around noon. Maybe I should go dig some holes in the yard or take the kids to Sea World or something so I will be completely beat when it's bedtime. Tonight we have church, though.

Leah, hope you've gotten all your plants situated by now. And at least; some sewing done. I can't grasp how anyone could pass up a $7 hanging basket! They start at around $15 and go up from there, around here. If it's one that I don't want to hang, then I simply re-pot it! Oh, well; I guess you've got your hands full enough anyway, right now. But I'm still shocked!!! Pengie, I'm sorry if I made you cry! I sure didn't mean too. God knows you've probably shed enough tears to fill a river. Forgive me, sis. But I assume you're as tender hearted over animals as I am. There's a commercial on T.V. that brings tears to my eyes, over abused and abandoned pets. In Heaven we'll never have to see such sad situations! Ain't that WONDERFUL!? Hi, Beckey and Trish!

Trish, I used to laugh at my mom over her propensity for power naps, tho they weren't called that then. She'd sit down to watch TV or just to rest, drift right off to sleep, then almost immediately wake up -- we're talking sometimes less than 2 minutes. But she'd be refreshed! Jump up and start working again . . . it was just beyond me how she could do that. Then, somewhere along in my late 30s, I discovered that I could do the same -- and it worked! I was 40 when I was going to college. The college was east of us, straight down the interstate, so on the drive back -- mid-late afternoon -- I'd be facing the sun. More than once I 'woke up' ON THE INTERSTATE. I finally decided I could not take anymore chances like that, and started going into the library at school, finding a secluded corner sofa and taking a short nap before starting home. It took less than 5 minutes for me to revive and be able to drive home safely -- fully alert! That is when I truly discovered the "power" of a 'power-nap' and I've been doing it ever since. I've literally had power naps standing up in an elevator Beckey, get busy on those holes! . . . but then you'd just have to fill them back up . . . I know! go buy you some plants! Season's over, ya know, so everything should be on sale! . . . seriously, I hope you sleep better tonight. Zondie, I am still kicking myself over that basket. But I know I've taken them home before and had them die on me for lack of proper care, whatever that is, and I'd already spent way more than I should have been spending. But yeah, it sure was a good buy And yes, I did get all the flowers planted this morning, and tho not much sewing, I did manage to get a jacket to the point of a fitting, and even took it by for that fitting on my way home a while ago, as well as delivered 4 other pieces to the lady that I'd completed. I got a call early this morning to help out with my friend again, so I sat with her for the afternoon. And we both had a good nap! --not exactly a power nap! . . . but boy that felt good, after the night I had.

LOL Zondie! You're right, it's no more than dozing, but it really does work for me. I read one time -- several years ago cuz it was when Mom was still alive and taking these short 'dozes' -- this man said when he felt himself in need of a nap he'd set in his favorite easy chair, place a pie pan beside, hold a spoon in his hand directly above the pie pan, then sit back & relax. When his body relaxed, he dropped the spoon & it would hit the pan, waking him up, and his 'power nap' was done. I just went . . . then I had to read it to my mom cuz that's exactly how she would many times nap -- not with the pie pan, but just that short & quick . . she got such a laugh out of that & said, yes, she knew just how he felt cuz that was really all she needed. I hope my mom is enjoying another laugh now as she watches me (who used to playfully make fun of her) do the same thing

I agree with Zondie, I am thankful God kept you safe, Leah and I need at least 30 minutes before I I call it a nap. Zondie, I believe with all my heart that my dad knows what goes on in my life. At least in part. I had an unusal experience one day several months after he had died. It changed my life and turned me around. I was with a friend and we stopped at my father's grave. As I spoke his name. we both saw Jesus walk my father to the edge of heaven to speak to me! I asked him what was God like, and he said . . ." Bright . . .Shining . . . Glorious . . .Magnificient!" Then he asked me how I liked my Bible study! He knew what I was doing! He also knew how much I loved Him and missed him. He told me to "live for God". Then Jesus walked him back into heaven. Both my friend and I shared the entire experience. We drove to a small restaurant just to sit and let it all sink in. When they first walked out, I did what it says in the Bible, -test the spirits. So I asked if they believed that Jesus was the Son of God and that He died and rose again and now lives in heaven, and they both said yes. So I know what I saw was no trick. While we're asking questions . . .does anyone believe our pets go to heaven? I just have to believe Little Bit is there . I went into a major crying spell last night. I was alone in the dark and my lap was so empty. For 13 years I've had my best friend, now I don't know what to do. Oreo tries, and he is a good dog, but there was a special bond with Little Bit. She saw me through some very tough years. At times she was the only comfort I had. I've ordered a mahgony keepsake box that has a Maltese on the top and is lined in velvet. I plan to put Little Bit's collar and a picture in there. If there is room, I'm also adding her pretty little dog sweater she wore in the cold.

Good morning Zondie, Pengie & Maggie . . seems you all three visited me whilst I was snoozin' away last night . . . and oh boy, was I ever snoozing -- felt so good! Zondie, I do think our loved ones can see us, and would like to share more about this with you later -- right now I've got a very busy day, but I've already done some research on this and when I have time to read a little more and put my thoughts together, I'd love a discussion about it. I have to get my driver's license renewed -- yep, still messin' with that . . see, that's why Bill keeps reminding me about these things, cuz he knows I procrastinate until there's no time left. Today's the last day Also need to pick up my last 2 weeks' pay and get it to the bank . . I'm overdrawn Then I really should go to the gym and want to go to the library -- no, must go there too czu I ordered some books and they are in. There are simply not enough hours in the day sometimes Now I gotta go doll myself up for that blasted photo on the driver's license . . . I'll try to post in here again this evening about your question, Zondie.

What an awesome experience you and your friend had Pengie! The first night after my dad died, everyone had left and my family was sleeping; I got up because the realization of his death had overwhelmed my heart again. I was standing in my kitchen (alone) and just about to lose my senses, when I heard dad's voice. Not audibly, but in my spirit (I guess). Anyway, he said, "Now sis, you know better. Out of all of the children, I know, you know better." That's all he said. But when dad passed, I was the only child confessing Christianity and he was reminding me that...he knew, that I knew; that he was with the Lord and where he always preached that he wanted to be! It was just what I needed at the time. I calmed down and begin to allow God to comfort me in my grief. And for your question about animals going to Heaven...Yes! I believe they do. Even though they don't have a soul that committed sin and had to be forgiven for it, I believe that God takes them to His Kingdom when they die. He is their Creator too! And I don't think that He would create such beautiful creatures and then just discard them all! We've enjoyed them here and I'm sure we'll get to enjoy them there too! The Bible speaks of the lion laying down by the lamb, remember? Natural enemies, made to live in perfect harmony there! That thrills my heart!!! Although, I do think (somehow) that the animals are outside the gates of Heaven. You know...the land that the angel told John that wasn't to be measured. (I think that maybe it is to big to be measured! IMHO.) The dimensions of the city were foursquare and measured to be 1500 miles long. So...can any of us even imagine how big the earthly part of Heaven will be? I don't think so. Read Revelation about Heaven's description again, and I think you'll get all your questions, more than satisfied!!! God, is better than any word we can come up with, to describe Him! (I guess you've already noticed how I love to talk about Him and His wonderful Kingdom! Sorry, if I carried on too long.) Hi Maggie, I'll try to get some time to drop in and say hello, on your forum before long. Right now, I've noticed a big discussion going on that I don't want to interrupt. Leah, thanks for acknowledging my question. I'm looking forward to hearing back about the research you've done on this subject! Hope you're having a good day!

Your experience too, zondie. Amen. Pengie, I realized later that I didn't address your experience when I posted . . please forgive me for that. I'd started to post earlier, typed part of it and lost it, then by the time I found time to start over, I'd forgotten what everyone had posted . . . . I do think that is a beautiful experience. Thank you for sharing it wiht us. I have been trying to research this idea of us seeing things from heaven and I'm not having much success -- probably because I've not had much time to spend on it. I would like to discuss it, and would love others' input on it, and I'll continue to search for scriptures & commentaries on it. I did find a beautiful article by a nun that I saved and even printed out for my sil today. We enjoyed going thru it together, but we weren't any closer to understanding more about this, Zondie, than we were before we started. I mean, this nun obviously believes this can be done, but she doesn't give scripture references to back up her belief. Hope you enjoy the article, tho -- we have, tho we're not finished studying it. I've had a lovely day with my sil, bil & Bill. They came this morning for a short visit, and to bring me a beautiful bouquet she'd put together for me to give to my secret pal for her birthday which is this week. They wound up staying & visiting until after 2:00 at which time we all realized we'd not eaten since breakfast, and for me & Bill that had only been toast w/ butter . . . Oops!! That's not quite right . . we'd all had a serving of my lemon cake/pudding after they'd arrived . . . . anyway, we were getting hungry, so I fixed us some hot dog & potato chowder and cornbread, and we had a great meal together, then visited some more. It's been a wonderfully cool day (threatening rain, but only a few drops fell now & then) so we've spent most of it in the backyard swings. I went to the attic this morning and dug out our chair cushions and the swing cushion, cuz I'd not done that yet this season. Then I was in the swing by the time they arrived around 11:00, and remained out there after they left around 6:00. Just came in a few minutes ago when Bill asked if I'd like to go to the drive-in. Yeah, that would have been nice, but there's seldom anything on we would want to see, and tonight is no exception. Owell, it's been quite an enjoyable day anyway, so I'm quite willing to spend the rest of it here
