LOL, um, no. I think the only cup useable during intercourse is the Instead, 'cause it sits so high.

Anyone have the website for The Keeper??? I think my diva is starting to leak again. I'm NOT happy about it. I hope I don't have to buy another one again and that this is just a heavy cycle for me.

My last one was early too, and I've been a hormonal mess for the past week (I'm in the CD20's). I have no idea what's going on, but its getting old.

Alright. 2nd month in a row with abnormal leakage.
I'm ordering a new one. I think I'll go with a different brand this time.

I bought a mooncup.
I don't have latex allergies, but something about the color of the Keeper turns me off.
I've been through 2 Divas in 3 1/2 years. That's only $2/month, so an average of $0.25/day to use it, but I don't want to buy them this frequently.

Do Divas wear out quicker than Keepers?
And can the Keeper be boiled, or only the Diva?

Only the diva can be boiled. The Keeper and mooncup are cleaned in water/vinegar.
I'm not sure if one wears out faster than the other. That's why I'm switching (that .. .and the Keeper is US.)
The Keeper is latex, the Mooncup is surgical rubber, I don't remember what the divacup is.
BUT ... what I do know ... the Keeper's website says 10 years. the Diva's website compares teh costs to a year's worth of disposables, so maybe they only guarantee it for a year??? (But they don't give a projected lifetime of it.)

I wonder if the Keeper folks have extended the potential life of their cup; way back when I bought mine I don't remember it being a full ten years (somewhere between 5 and 10 comes to mind), but my memory might be bad too. Back then the Keeper was the only option that I knew of also. OK, was just reading and it said they've been making them since 1986, so maybe my memory is bad.
I've talked to my daughter about menstrual cups. She thinks she might be allergic to latex so I should mention that she should be careful what material one is made from if she ever gets one. Or figure out if she actually is allergic to latex.

Interesting... I've had my Diva for well over 2 years, close to 3 now, and have never had any leakage that wasn't due to my fault. I love it!

I boil my Diva and I've never had any leakage that wasn't my fault, and we're going on either 2 or 3 years now.

I only boil mine when I think about it, which isn't that frequently. I wash it off in the shower with plain water, do my best to clean out the little holes, then just let it air dry.

I clean it every time I take it out (unless an emergency in a public restroom arises) with anti-bacterial soap and water. Every cycle, when I'm done, I boil it, as per the instructions on teh website and that I got with it.
I got a UTI one month I think from not boiling it the previous month (my UTI lined up with my cycle perfectly). So I make sure I boil it.
My first diva I know I left in the pot too long and it melted. The next month I leaked like crazy. I've been very careful with this cup not not boil it too long or with too little water, and yet I've had 2 months in a row with really bad leakage. My only other thought is that it's not fitting right and maybe I need a bigger size. But I've not ever had a kid so I don't need the bigger size. I dunno. That's why I'm trying a different brand. Maybe it's not fitting right.

I"m glad to know I"m not the only one who killed mine by boiling it! Mine was obviously dead and I had to buy a new one.

I do Kiegels regularly.
I question my anatomy down there. I think I have a tilted uterus and short canal. I KNOW my cup goes up too high, but for the life of me I can't get it to sit any lower.
(I just re-read my last post up there. I was talking in circles.)

My cup sits high, and I like it that way. That is the place where I have no leaks and don't feel it!

I've tried the Instead cups the last couple cycles, and I just find they leak a lot. And they are messy to remove and dispose of.
Are the other cups any different in those ways?

The instead are disposable and I thought should be changed every time you empty. That could be why they leak a lot.
Yes, there is mess in cleaning out the non-dispoasable cups. However, I think they aren't any messier than tampons or pads.
BTW --- my Mooncup arrived this week. That step is REALLY big.

the instead fits in totally different than the diva or moon cup type cups. The Instead wedges between the pubic bone and the area beneath the cervix and collects the flow. it is not uncommon that there be a bit of "leakage" when you urinate when using the Instead and I always had to empty and dispose of the Instead when I had a Bowel movement as the pushing would invariably dislodge it.
The Diva Cup sits differently- Here is the answers.com page on Cups- if you scroll way down there is a drawing comparing the Instead, Diva, and tampon.
this gal uses a champagne glass to demonstrate how to insert the mooncup UK. She does a decent job with it, though she does talk a bit about cultural issues... Her method of cleaning between cycles is closest to my own.
There is a learning curve and I'd say not to give up or consider it a fail or unworkable until you have honestly given 4 cycles go at it. It takes most women that long just to get past the touching during that time of the month. Once you get the hang of it the mess subsides.
