Alright, the "I Love America" concert was awesome! This church has about a 500 member choir and an 80 piece orchestra. We sat in the balcony so L5 looked like they were only 2 inches tall But, with the cameras and projectors, we saw everything just fine. The show started with a bang. L5 came out with "Strike Up The Band" as the choir and orchestra came in...the choir is so big that it took the whole song for them to fill the seats...it seemed that they weren't quite going to make it, but they did. Then the orchestra did a Patriotic medley that had everyone clapping and tapping their toes. L5 then came back and sang their acappella "America Medley"...standing ovation! The choir sang "This Land Is Your Land", very nice, and then the music director turned and asked everyone to stand as we sang "The Star Spangled Banner". L5 came back out and sang "I Stand Redeemed". Not a Patriotic tune, but it seemed to fit very well. The choir sang the songs for the Armed Forces as a member of each branch carried in their respective flag. It was very moving...this always makes me cry. L5 then closed the music portion of the service with "Truth Is Marching On". The orchestra and choir joined them. It was incredible! The only thing is that the choir drowned out the quartet at the end of the song. Then Pastor David Dykes gave a moving sermon titled "America At The Cross Roads". Very challenging and encouraging. But, to top off the evening was an encounter I had with Glen Dustin after the show. I have told you guys before that Glen and I have seemed to make a personal connection with each other, well, this time he saw me and called me over to say hi and then told me that he saw me in the balcony and he wanted to be sure that he said "hi". I know this is a small thing, but it really made an impact on me. Knowing that he spotted me in the back of the building from the stage in a huge building that was nearly full...I don't know just seems out of the ordinary. It’s things like this that sets SG apart. These artist take the time to get personal with the fans. It really enhances their ministry. It is very humbling that out of thousands and thousands of people that Glen meets on a yearly bases, he remembers who I am and the area I live in. This man is dedicated to ministering to individuals.

Wow! Thanks for the review! So glad you had an awesome time. Sounds like one that should have been taped. Don't you always wish you had the concerts you personally attended were on tape? I know I do. Especially the last one where we saw Roger. I will remember that all my days... Yes, the connections we make are special. You would think that they would get tired of being the public person, always having to have a smile no matter what may be going on in their personal life, or just being plain tired. I just pray these guys never think, well here he comes again! Happy Birthday from us too Scott!!!!

L5Man, it sounds like you experience with Glenn the same thing that my son and I have with Frank and Tim! It is hard to put it into words sometimes just how this makes you feel. Earlier this year when Frank had Scott Fowler dedicate a song from the stage to my son for his birthday was something we will never forget. I love all of those guys but there has been a connection with Frank since the first time we saw him. And now, we have one with Tim as well. Each time we see them it is like getting together with old friends.

That's why I try not to come on too strong and take too much of his time. :) I don't want him saying, "That guy just sucks the life out of me!"

Wow! Where have we all been? I just found this 6 pages deep.... We will be seeing L5 this Sat night! Can't wait!!!!! I need some prayer folks. I tried to get my neighbors kid to go with us. He is 14/15 and being raised Catholic, and showing signs of taking on worldly attributes= swearing. His parents are good people, but not the best roll models. I thought this weekend would be the perfect opportunity to expose him to the real Jesus. I was informed with a lame excuse last night not to go. Just pray I get the chance to talk him into going. He is the type of kid that absorbs everything about a room when he walks in. I just know that he will take in everything he sees and hears. On your knees folks, this is a soul at stake!!!!!! I love this kid and I know if he gets the proper influence God will have great things for him.

Thanks Jeff and Tina! I knew I could count on you guys! I really worry about this kid (Bobby) I think its a good chance he will want to be a cop like his dad. The pressing reason I am so concerned with his eternal destination. We will probably leave Sat morning at 11 or even noon. Should get up there by 4pm, and DINNER!!!!! at 5. We should get back home about 2am. Please pray for our travel safety.

Well, the speculation begins again. Who will take Tim's place?

Well, I know one person it won't be and that is Matthew Holt. Actually, I know two that it won't be, Scott McDowell.
