Change of Heart was the first novel I read by Jodi Picoult. It wasn't a bad read, but yeah, you could really see where it was going long before it happened.

I am reading Jerusalem & The Holy Land, a DK Eyewitness Travel Guide; and Living in the Light of Eternity: Discovering God's Design for Your Life, by K. P. Yohannan.

I am really enjoying the travel guide, and have just started the other one so can't comment on it yet, except that I have a great deal of respect for the author.

My library doesn't have Pink, I'd really like to find it and read it. The one I'm reading now is the third of the series with Made of Honor and If the Shoe Fits. I really like her writing, and I find it very relatable.

I'd be interested in hearing how you like "Shack".

It was recently given to one of my daughters by a Sunday School teacher. I have leafed through it and looked it up online. It seems only slightly short of blasphemous to me.

Mac OS X Tiger Edition, by David Pogue. I may have posted this book before, but it's a stop-and-start kind of read.

"Walk the Land" by Judith Galblum Pex A Journey on Foot through Israel

A journal type book of walking the Israel trail by a couple in their 50's. I am 1/2 the way through it and am enjoying it. They live in Eilat and lead a Christian fellowship.

Our family went to Israel in May of this year. So this type of book brings the countryside back to us.

I finished Kings of New York and Son of a Witch. Now I'm reading Water for Elephants and The Kite Runner. I think both of them are going to be too sad to read at the same time.

Good book. Quite different from what I'm used to reading, but a very good read.

I finished The Kite Runner and Water for Elephants over the weekend. Water for Elephants was more uplifting at the end than the other, which made me mad and sad all the way through.

I'm about to start Middlesex and I'm halfway through The Jungle. (For the 1,038,029,394 time. ) Also have What is the What on the back burner.

My 16 year old's summer reading assignment was A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bryson.

Of course, mama read it too. Gotta make sure kiddo does the work...

I can honestly say that it was the first scientific history book that I enjoyed. I actually laughed out loud a few times. It is a heavy but engrossing read.

(Of course, be forewarned that it is science that is not presented from a Christian world view.)

A Short History of Nearly Everything
