So far so good. She's all about getting back to eating real food like people used to eat.

Thanks. That's what In Defense of Food is about as well. May have to check both of them out.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is reading or has read "The Shack" by William P. Young.
I thought it was an extremely good work of fiction that had many contemplative truths in it's pages.
I don't think I have ever read anything that was quite as bold or intimate in relation to the personification of God.
I don't want to give away the plot line but I'm just dying to talk about it with others who have read it.

Here's her blog to get a feel for her writing style. Her style is easy to follow so far.

Thanks, Steph. It looks like In Defense of Food is actually a follow on to Real Food. Guess I should read both of them.

I just finished reading, "Adam," by Ted Dekker. Love anything by him... start with Blink of an Eye, Three, or his Black, Red, White trilogy and you'll be hooked!

I am currently writing my second Christian Fantasy novel, "Ryann Watters and the Shield of Faith," and hope to have it out by Christmas! Book 1, "Ryann Watters and the King's Sword," was published by Creation House, May 1.

Thx,
Eric Reinhold

currently reading God's Grace and the Homosexual Next Door. Excellent! Recently finished The Scripture Principle and Reason Enough both by Clark Pinnock. Recently bought The Dawkins Delusion but gave it to someone who was reading The God Delusion before I got a chance to read it myself. Also recently read a book by Probe ministries with a title like Creation, Evolution, and Modern Science (Ray Bohlin?) and borrowed Edge of Evolution by Mike Behe. One to try sometime is Getting Past the Culture Wars: Regarding Intelligent Design. Good night.

I'm reading "God's Behaving Badly" by Marie Phillips.

It's fiction about the Greek gods living in London today. It's a very funny book, but the language is offensive at times so I hesitate to recommend it.

Merlin by Stephen Lawhead. It's book 2 of his Pendragon series.

Lexie, if you like that type of fiction, you should check out If at Faust You Don't Succeed and A Farce to be Reckoned With by Robert Sheckley and Roger Zelazny.

"Sisterchicks In Sombreros" (3rd in a series of 7 by Robin Jones Gunn)
* this series cracks me up...and makes me want to get away with my bestest gf right now! and i love how there's always a couple really excellent 'ah-ha' moments...and they way gunn expresses them really touch my heart. plus...she has a very unique way of saying things to help you visualize and really relate to the characters.

"The Holy Spirit" (Billy Graham)
* i've read this before...but the past 6 months have been a great time of spritual growth for me...and i was drawn back to it. i'm only starting ch 3, but it's already been a great source of 'remindering." i'm even doing it as a 'study" with another CW friend, via email. (i'm very excited about that!!)

"Miracles" (C.S. Lewis)
* would you believe i've never read any of his stuff? i know...i'm so behind. (lol) i can't wait to get into it.

I'm reading "Absolute Surrender" by Andrew Murray right now. Although I like reading some contemporary Christian books, I often prefer books by the 'old dead dudes' that you can usually only find in the classics section of your book store - like Andrew Murray, Charles Spurgeon, etc...

why didnt you like it????

Well, for one thing, it was too long-winded. For another thing, pretty much the only people I liked in it were Meg and Beth. I don't know, it was just...not my style I guess.

We should start a thread in Morality and Ethics: Is stellaluna evil for not liking Little Women?
