Ok I have book ADD, I picked up a 10 cent book yesterday called The Devil's Advocate (not as in the movie titled with the same name -Pacino, Reeves) but very good so far. Novel by Morris West.

I'm trying to read a book by Brian Jacques called The Legend of Luke, but for some reason I'm not getting into it - and I love the Redwall series. It's weird, I love the series and I've never read Redwall the book.

Yep, the game called Riven is the sequel to Myst. I think of that everytime I see Jerry Jenkin's book title.
I just finished Brisingr. If you liked the first two books, you'll like this one. It was worth the wait, lots of new developments and some sad parts as well. Now begins the wait for the last book in the cycle.

I am currently reading a book called "Paul" its a series that Chuck Swindoll is doing there are other books as well like Moses, Jesus, Joeseph etc. and I am reading a new book as well called the "The great ape debate"
Is any one else reading these books lets talk about them oh yeah and of course I am reading the bible and I am always reading "MY utmost for his highest"

If I could ever get my husband to post, he would be glad to talk about those books. We have all of them, and my husband has taken high school boys in our church through the Joseph book on a couple of occasions. Good stuff.

I'm reading Bob Woodward's book on Dan Quayle. While on the surface I was surprised to see Woodward attribute profanity to him, at a deeper level I'm not surprised. (I do think that Quayle was, and is, underestimated, though, and I'd like to visit his Vice-Presidential museum in Indiana.)

I finished The Shack last week and will post a little more later in that topic.
I have been reading a kid's New Testament to my 7 year old daughter almost every night. It reads like a comic strip with pictures and talking bubbles when people speak; however, it is a regular version of the Bible although I don't remember which one.
I read my Bible during my lunch break on most days although never is it enough. I've read straight through the Bible once and most of the books several times. Paul has always been one of my favorite people in the Bible, so I currently started with Acts and will read and study his letters a little more closely. I am now interested in "Paul" by Chuck Swindoll as well as the other books Craig mentioned above.
I just started Brisingr yesterday and like it so far. I'm a fairly slow reader at times, and it is good I have 3 weeks before having to return it to the library.
One of these days I will pick up Chronicles of Narnia agin.

- Wheel of Time (Robert Jordan)
- Death Gate Cycle (Margett Wies & Tracy Hickman)
- LoTR (J.R.R. Tolkien)
- Streams of Silver (R.A. Salvatore)
- The Magic Kingdom for Sale Sold (Terry Brooks)
- Knight of the Word (Terry Brooks)
- Enchanted (Orson Scott Card)
- Belgarath the Sorcerer (David and Leigh Eddings)
- The Serpent War Saga (Raymond E. Fiest)
- The Cleric Quintet (R.A. Salvatore <I think>)
- Spellfire <I think is title> (Ed Greenwood)
- Sparrowhawk <main character can't remember if it is title> (can't remember the author <sad face>)
- Shannara Series (Terry Brooks)
Ok this is to name a few series, please let me know if anyone has any others other than the Bagillion Star Wars series to read :D.

How about the Dune series?
I am reading The Temple of the Golden Pavilion by Yukio Mishima. It is my second Mishima book and it feels much more Japanese than Confessions of a Mask as it focuses very heavily on the daily life of a Buddhist temple in Kyoto. The action takes place more or less around the same time as Confessions, during World War II and the years that followed and it is also a first person narrative about a young man who is alienated from humanity at large. In a nutshell, it is a story about obsession and how to cope with it. Very Mishima through and through.
There are many alusions to Buddhist philosophy and Zen in particular that require some research to be completely understood but overall it is a very strong book that truly causes an impression.

Ah yes, the Dune Series. I read the First three, then stopped as Frank Herbert was putting out others with some co-writting so was going to wait until it started to plateau so I could read them without having to wait for the next one to be released (Like the Wheel of Time <it was Torture <grin>>).
Thank you for the suggestion, will look into starting the series back up.

Finished Kon-Tiki. Got mildly annoyed with Kathleen Norris stereotyping American evangelical protestants in The Cloister Walk last night so put it down for a bit. I find I'm more attracted to the quotations anyway. Perhaps a book on church history or specific saints would be in order.

Well, I'm currently reading Twilight. This is the first book of the vampire series by Stephenie Meyer.
I'm mostly reading the series because my sister liked it so much. This is not really the kind of
book I prefer, but I have to admit that it is pretty good.
