Nicole, Waldecks is a plant nursery.

I'm going to have to head back to bed for a while. I took a new antidepressant last night, and I'm still feeling really hungover in the sleep department. I'll talk to you all later.

I slept so much yesterday. Through the night. Up for an hour around breakfast. Back to bed until about 3.30pm. Went back to sleep just after 5.30pm. Had dinner around 7.50pm. Had an early night last night, despite the extra sleep and no antidepressant.

I've woken up feeling pretty sore this morning. Have taken some painkillers and won't be going to church today.

That much sleep is caused by the new antidepressant I got put on. I took it on Friday night, and that was the result. I didn't take any last night, but I'm still hung over from Friday night's med. I'm not even up to the dosage the doctor wants me on yet. Somehow I don't think that's going to happen!

I don't know yet. Dh decided to invite people around for dinner and so I had to put all the furniture back before I got a chance to try it.

I guess I'll have to wait now until next weekend.

LOL well I am sure it will work well! Its so exciting getting new appliances, makes you want to clean, for a few times anyway

Trish- maybe you need to talk to the doc about that tablet. Is there another one you can try?

It's a pity it's not a tablet. I could halve or quarter it. It's a capsule though, and trying to take part of it ain't gonna work.

It's very frustrating though when you don't get to try it out.

My baby is 12yo tomorrow. How did she get so big?

I would speak to the doc Trish.

Awww 12 years old! So high school next year then? anything special planned for her party?

Looking forward to Idol tonight!!

What do you all think about Rudd's new deal for schools, principals and teachers? As a teacher, I think its quite silly (not too sure if it relates to Christian schools or not yet...)

She's having a Laser Skirmish party with her friends on the 14th. We were going to have it the weekend after her birthday but that would have put it on Fathers Day so we decided it would be better to wait another week when her friends would be more likely to be able to come.

As far as tomorrow, we will probably go out somewhere to dinner.

I haven't been keeping up with the news in the past week or two so am not sure what you're talking of Nicole. Can you give us a run down?

That sounds like fun Kylie, I have never done that Skirmish thing before!

Well he wants to do something similar to what they do in New York (which you would think has the greater need for this type of crack down compared to us) but under performing schools can be shut down. Principals of under performing schools can be sacked, and teachers who have under performing classes will also be sacked. Its all to do with the dumb reporting system which I can't stand either. Not all children fit into the reporting system, some children may do fantastic in the practicals of home ec but their writing lets them down, but they will still be graded low because they didn't perform to the "standards" someone has set. Its not fair on those students who struggle in areas. Its also hard on teachers as parents will be able to once more give the responsibility of their failing children on the teachers, like parents have no responsibility when it comes to learning

I am a bit on the fence on that one.

I believe that individualisation of learning is very important and something which the school environment really doesn't make a way for in its current form. That's probably why we homeschooled for several years and I still would be doing that if it were viable in other ways for our family.

And I think that parents should ultimately be responsible for their child/ren's education, something which some, not all, teachers/administrators actually seem to forget. I have actually known schools who believed they 'owned' the children in their care, not a path they want to take with me.

I don't necessarily like the 'education system' as such. I believe it is very good for those who fit the mould but really fails in so many ways.

You are right Kylie, it fits some but not others!

Trish how are you doing?

So anyone watch idol? I was very disappointed with it last night, didnt' think many were good at all. And tonight has alot of great ones, I hate how they put all the really good ones in the same night.

Do you all watch that new show on seven "Packed to the rafters?" that's becoming my new favourite show!! I was pretty disappointed that seven ran with the episodes as normal with Dan still in them. I thought it was in bad taste. It would of been hard on his family and friends.

I really like Packed to the Rafters too.

I watched Idol last night, wasn't fussed. Some that I expected to be really good REALLY crashed and burned.

I was surprised by them running the show with Mark Priestley in it too but I guess on another level it at least acknowledged him and his talent - very sad. I guess my thought on the family and friends is that we don't know if the producers approached the family first so it's hard to judge.

I like Packed To The Rafters too.

Dan, is he on Packed To The Rafters, or on All Saints?

Would have been hard for the first All Saints after the death of Mark Priestly. The funeral is on Thursday. I thought it was hard as in the beginning, I thought I heard the doctors talking amongst themselves about how they thought the first patient was a jumper. If that was the case, then it would have made it all the more harder in light of Mark's death.

I'm hanging in there. Have to see a dr tomorrow. I think I've got an ear infection. I'm forever getting those.

How did the docs go Trish?

Kylie- is the party for DD this weekend?

Dan was Mark's character on All Saints, LOL my friend and I just call him Dan even though we know his name was Mark...

I missed Idol last night, I went to bed at 8!! I prefer once they get into it anyway as usually the people I like don't do so well that one time and don't get through or Australia pics weird and it annoys me.

The party is next weekend Nicole.

We were going to have it the first weekend after her birthday but that would have meant it was on Father's Day, so we put it off a week so that more of her friends could come.

Talking of Father's Day, are we all prepared yet?

Kylie

Hi everybody.

I've got my things for John. Just need to wrap them up and get the card done. We're going to go out for Father's Day lunch later though. So many bills coming in at the moment, so we're having to put it off for now.

How did it go at the drs? Seems I have a viral infection in the good ear. I was expecting that the other needed to be cleaned, but not that. Oh well. If I need them, he's given me a script for antibiotics.

That's right Kylie I remember now.

Father's day, hubby is working, so we will only see him maybe an hour at dinner time. I have presents for him and will get Grace to make a card tomorrow while he is sleeping.

Trish hope you get better soon

I got dh's Father's Day present but I had to give it to him early as it was too heavy for me to get out of the car on my own.

He's been talking for a while about getting back in shape so I got him a home gym set. He often likes to stay up late to unwind after work so I'm thinking that will be a perfect time for him to do some working out.

I hope they enjoy their gifts.

Yes, gym equipment would be a bit hard to get out of the car by yourself.

Kylie, are the kids doing anything special for dad?
