I am thankful for a really good time at Drill. We were conducting riot control training, where a lot of the training was what I have done for the Nebraska Department of Corrections. So, I was able to help some others with their training and give good feedback to the instructors. Also, it helped me better play "the bad guy," which I did quite a bit. Although I got banged up quite a bit, I had a whole, lot of fun!
Also, I am thankful that my transfer to the (much closer) MP unit has finally been approved!! I'm not too thrilled that I can't do all of my training all at once. But, at least my transfer is complete and I will start my MP training soon.
I hope to go out for CERT (corrections emergency response team) this year. So, keep that in your prayers.
And, I am also thankful that Sharon and I will soon be married.

I got a job today!!! I've been out of work since the end of April, but have been taking time to look for a job that I really want and felt led to do instead of just jumping into something (which is what I usually do). I felt like such a fool, particularly in this economy, but I prayed and asked God for exactly what I needed and let him take care of the rest. Well, this job is exactly what I want to do, is part time, and pays me exactly what I need to take care of all bills plus have extra left over. I start on Monday and I'm so excited!
I also got mail from a job I left a year ago (before I relocated). Turns out they owed me backpay that will cover my expenses for the entire time that I was out of work. And, I did some volunteer work not too long ago - not expecting pay - but the people I worked for had extra money left over - so they gave it to the core volunteers.
How cool is all that? I was out of work for most of the summer, spent time with the Lord, spent time writing, got a chance to visit family, and figure out what direction I need to go in for my life, and it didn't make a dent in my finances. God is just so good!

I'm thankful for:
1. Weekends that, for me, are during the week...
1. Wonderful friends that help me out when I need it (even if I don't ask for it).
1. That our wedding is in sight...
1. That my transfer has finally been approved!
1. That I have a supervisor that is interested in my progressing (including doing CERT)...
1. That the cats that Sharon and I have are now getting along quite 'puuuurrrfectly' together...
1. And my goofy humor that people sometimes catch....
