My cat knows too. It's quite fun to try to put a 15 pound cat in a carrier.

She better fit in it still. I haven't gotten her to lose weight yet. Yes that is partly my fault but she has no attention span when I try to get her to exercise. Plus she cries when she is hungry and its very aggravating.

Try putting two 25 pound Maine Coon cats in carriers.

My little Bumper kitty knows exactlywhen we are going to give her medicine (we rub it on her ear). It really is uncanny.

My cats are sort of like children to me. In fact when conversations turn to children and others start telling funny stories or discipline problems with their children I find myself chiming in about my cats. Some find this funny others others find it stupid. I have heard that some people feel sorry for people who treat their pets like children. Of course I know the cats are CATS but still.............

You fit perfectly in this thread... I'm not ashamed to say that my critters are my kidlets...

Bailey's lost weight and he's now at a weight that the vets are happy with. I didn't think he was fat before, but they still wanted his weight down. Apparently now, the vets think he's perfect. Must be all the ball throwing we do for him, along with the cutting down of his food.

I need to work more with Asia. I've cut down the food, but that hasn't seemed to cut down the fat...

On another note: Prayers please! I'm trying not to freak out , but I just registered for the correctional officer testing (civil service exam and physical testing). I will be testing Weds, August 13th. Now I just need to decide where to stay - hotel or friends in the area.

Oh, definitely praying!

Hmmm... Hotel? Or friends? Are they good friends who will get you psyched up or psyched out?

Well, my best friend is awesome and a great encouragement. My issues are: 2 little ones (hers in case you were wondering there) and I do better psyching myself up alone than with people. I guess it's my introverted side.

That's what I was wondering about. I usually do better psyching myself up alone as well. I'm an introverted extrovert.

Oooh! I like that! Whenever I say introvert, people think "shy" and I am anything but shy! I'm very outgoing - I just "energize" alone.

Yeah, that's it. Energize alone. I'm definitely not shy either.

Hey! We could right a book for people just like us: the "not-shy people person's who need time alone to get energized"...

I'd stay at the hotel.

Don't you have to go the police academy though?

Thanks DebbieLynne!

As far as the academy, you only do that once you have been hired by a department (at least in Washington state). This is only the very beginning of the process in trying to get hired. It's a very long process...

Well, I have the 2 easiest rooms cleaned, sorted and organized (guest room & guest bath). The past few hours, I've been working on my craft/cat room... I've also almost filled up my trash can and I'm only on room 3... But, that just means I'm doing what I wanted to do - getting rid of lots of stuff that I just don't need to hang onto anymore... I'm constantly battling my organized self and my packrat self and the organized self needs to win...

I had it backwards. I thought it was like college where you you learn first and then hope you get hired. Like here I could go to the community college for criminal justice (they built a complex that simulates a city for police and ems to train on) for an associates and then try get hired in to a department.

That actually makes sense. Weed em out early. Best of Luck!

I'm not sure it works that way in every state, but that's how it works here. Which is really nice because you get paid while at the academy. It's also good because you don't spend all the time and money at the academy only to find out after the fact that you aren't qualified to go into law enforcement (there are MANY disqualifiers).

Well, another day of vacation and another day of projects around the house. I got a lot done yesterday though so hopefully I can stay just as motivated. It feels good to get everything organized and cleared out and deep cleaned.
