Today, I opened my Bible randomly to read my morning lesson. This is the passage I opened to, and I ask, is there any better hope, than hope in the return of our Lord Jesus to set up His Kingdom? Oh, I can't wait for that day!!

Psalms 110

1 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. 2 The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. 3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. 4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. 5 The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath. 6 He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries. 7 He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.

Passage for 04/25/2006

quote:

Romans 5:
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

how often do we loose site of the fact or don't display that God loves the unbelievers just as much as the believers?

Jeremiah 31:31-37

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. 35 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: 36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. 37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.

That is very sad to her about Zola Levitt, I have enjoyed listening and reading his material.

Whoever said they enjoyed the verses from Lamentations 3 had a delightful thought. But look at the verse before it for a great thought, if you have ever thought of it. It is of God's (great) mercies we are NOT consumed, because His Compassions fail not and are NEW every morning, just as they were that first day of creation there in the garden. Check it out and think about it.

I hope you all don't mind, or that I am out of order or something, but I would also like to express another of my favorite Bible verse, Romans 5:8. I have a hard time keeping it quiet. It was this verse that helped show me I was not good enough for heaven by myself, even if I was a good moral preacher who did great things in life. That verse says, But God commendeth (or showed) His love toward us in that while WE were yet sinners, CHRIST DIED for us.

It was at these verses when I heard them read to me that I actually heard the Lord include two additional words in that verse. Those words in my mind and heart and soul were heard when the assistent pastor said these words, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ, (NOT HENRY), died for us. Now he did not say them, but in my mind they were clearly heard. But it was still a few minutes before I would yield my proud life to Him. That's my glorious story and I'm glad to stick to it!!!!

Romans 8:
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

I went home early yesterday for an emergency dentist appointment (they have to pull all four of my wisdom teeth) so I didn't get to post yesterday.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes with your right hand you save me- Psalm 138:7

For in the day of trouble He will keep me safe in His dwelling; He will hide me in the shelter of His tabernacle and set me high upon a rock- Psalm 27:5

I have two impacted wisdom teeth. They hurt bad, but not so bad today. The dentist gave me Vicodin, (which I do not like-makes me loopy). I have at least two more weeks of this before the consultation with the surgeon to remove them.

A reminder on this glorious Friday of the things that Jesus did for us:

quote:

John 21

25Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

Here's two pieces of food for thought:

The Lord, He is the one who goes before you, He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed- Deuteronomy 31:8

And these here are two of my most favorite verses of all time:

I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to seperate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

Passage for 04/30/2006

quote:

Romans 9:
13 Even as it is written, Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.
14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.
16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that hath mercy.

Romans Chapter 12

12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
12:4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function,
12:5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.
12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;
12:7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching;
12:8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
12:9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.
12:10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;
12:11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
12:12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; Rom 12:13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.
12:14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
12:16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.
12:17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.
12:18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
12:19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,"* says the Lord.
12:20 Therefore
"If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
If he is thirsty, give him a drink;
For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head."*
12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

I think that a lot of christians need to read this Chapter, especially my church right now.

Today I received a devotional and the verse in it was perfect for this thread.

Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments. Deuteronomy 7:9

We will always go through periods of darkness and doubt. That is the fault of being human, but we can rest assured that our God above human feelings and faults, and isn't affected by the doubt that we cast in our hearts.

Passage for 05/02/2006

quote:

Romans 11:
28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
