Tis been a while since I posted in here.

Sunday was a busy day.

In the morning we went to dog day at a water park. We also went last year. Princess loves to fetch things we throw into the water. Ami just runs around and avoids getting wet. We stayed until Princess wore down some of her nails enough to be bloody... same thing that happened last year. She is just not used to running around on concrete.

Then we went to a concert in California with two friends. Christina was bridesmaid #3 at my wedding, and she is now engaged to a man named Jeremiah. I have only met Jeremiah once before at the wedding we went to in May. It was good to get to know him better... he is a good guy.

We ate dinner at Panera Bread. Yay! I also bought a cinnamon crunch bagel to have for breakfast the next day. Christina had never been to Panera before and she said it was good. Jeremiah said when he lived in Kansas he used to go there once a week for lunch. Matt is used to getting drug to Panera whenever we go to California.

We got lost after getting off the freeway. The Google map I printed said to turn right. We turned right and we were driving through corn fields and stuff. Jeremiah is from Kansas and he said it looked just like home. So eventually we turned around and went left past the freeway and we found the place. Whose idea was it to build a major concert venue in the middle of nowhere?

The concert was at the amphitheater in Marysville, CA. I didn't know that the definition of amphitheater was an outdoor place. When we got there it was ever so hot. Everyone was fanning themselves and wiping sweat off their head. Yuck. Then by the end of the night I was cold. Yah... maybe I will not go there again unless it is someone I love.

The concert was Jars of Clay, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Switchfoot, and Third Day. I bought the tickets because I wanted to see Third Day.

We missed 2/3 of Jars of Clay because of turning the wrong way off the freeway. Their set was only 30 minutes.

Next was Robert Randolph. I had never even heard of him. It was AWFUL. His songs literally consisted of the same line being sung over and over and over again for about six minutes a song. Oy. I could not believe that these people were supposed to be good enough to get to play after Jars of Clay.

Then was Switchfoot. I don't know most of their songs so their set was pretty boring to me. They saved singing "Dare You to Move" until the last song, which was the only song I really knew.

Then last was Third Day! Yay! I knew most every song they sang and it was great. At one point the lead signer said, "Usually I have a clock on the monitor telling me how long I have left, but tonight it's not there. The stage manager is signaling me now... it looks like he is saying 2 hours and 50 minutes." So the crowd cheers. Then he said, "Well, you are cheering now, but after 2 hours and 49 minutes you are going to be like, 'I like Third Day, but its time to get home now.'" I thought that was funny.

One blah part of the concert was that both Switchfoot and Third Day both brought Robert Randolph back out to sing a song with them. Come on! He is not that good!

I was very happy with my decision to bring ear plugs. I cannot imagine what my ears would have felt like after four hours of concert without them. I saw other people around me wearing them too.

That was my thought Christine, P could be picking up on something being different w Ami.

Or she could just have had a mopey day. Some animals get emotional just like we do.

That's what I'd wondered.

Sounds like Princess and Ami had fun at the park.

Well, in other news...

the appraisal place has been pretty slow this week. that is not so good. the boss asked me if I could pick up more hours at my call center job next week. I said probably not since next week's schedule is already up. I don't want any more hours there anyway.

Speaking of the call center, my one month anniversary of working there was Thursday. The other people who started around the same time as me have the same opinion as I do: "isn't it pathetic that we are still working here?" Yes it is.

I soooo wish we could have our credit card debt paid off by Thanksgiving so I could quit the call center before then, but I don't think that is going to happen unless a bunch of unexpected money comes in. I have to work on Thanksgiving again this year.

Ike and Hannah are getting quite big, and I am taking them back to the Humane Society on Tuesday. Ike is the biggest kitten I have ever had. He was up to 2 lbs 8 ounces the other day, and Hannah was only 2 lbs 2 ounces. I am sure he has gained more weight since then. These cats are the purringest cats ever too. They start purrring when they get near me even before I touch them, and keep puring even when I leave them. I am amazed at the progress Hannah has made. She started off very grumpy and now she loves us. Grumpy and Tiger (my former two unhappiest kitties) never made such progress while I had them.

Tomorrow I am going to a bridal shower for Christina (who I went with to the Third Day concert last weekend). Her wedding isn't until December 20th, so it is quite early in my opinion. I keep forgetting about getting her a gift, so I have to make my way out to Wal*Mart sometime tonight. They are registered at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, but I am too cheap to go there.

We are having a cold spell here. This weekend is supposed to be raining and only 62-64 degrees... it was that way today too. Kind of blah. At least next week is supposed to be back to sunny and the mid 70's.

I love BB&B. But they are pricey.

That does seem early for a bridal shower. But when I married Eric, mine was in April and my wedding wasn't until June. So I guess it could work. Give them plenty of time to figure out what else they need.

My parents are leaving AZ today to come to California. They'll be here tomorrow.

I'm getting married in ONE WEEK!!!!!

OK. I have projects today. My morning sickness has subsided for the time being, I have work to go do. Y'all have a good day.

My weekend was alright.

Saturday morning I went to the bridal shower. I ended up getting her a set of towels and some of my favorite kitchen gadgets. The shower was... eh. The only other bridal shower I have ever been to was my own, so I don't really have much to compare to. I am so bad at "party" games and it is frustrating to me to play things I have no chance of winning. She got a lot less presents than I got at my shower.

Got bugged by two different people about church. The shower was held at the church Matt and I got married at, and which we don't go to anymore. I passed by the pastor on the stair case on the way down and he said, "So will I see you in church tomorrow?" Uhm, no.
And then there was this other lady who used to go to that church when I did. She was so happy to see me, and I haven't talked to her in years now. Honestly I am not even sure why she likes me so much. I really didn't want to sit by her and be drilled with questions, but when I sat away from her she got her purse and moved. *groan*

So, yah, I am not sure if I am glad I went or not. But since I would like to hang out with this person more often, I will say it is better that I went since I had nothing else going on.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Saturday evening we met up with Matt's parents. We had dinner and then went to see Bill Engvall. Wow, his show talks a whole lot about bodily functions. He was in desperate need of a haircut, too. His hair was much longer than it is in his publicity photos.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sunday we stayed at home. Matt went and picked up pizza and wings from my favorite local place. If they ever go out of business I will . But they do have four locations, so I would say the chances of that are low.
We spent a lot of time playing a video game called "Eternal Sonata." I don't exactly see the point of this game, but it is tolerable and has no blood or continuous gun noises.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hannah and Ike go back to the Humane Society on Tuesday. I really wish we could keep them both. They are such great kitties. It is sad that their last day at my house has to be my long working day.
OK. I'm slow. I just realized you named your kitties after the hurricanes. How amusing.
Catherine ... the only bridal showers I've been to were yours, mine, and my sister's. They were all different. It really depends on the bride and the maid of honor. I'm not a huge fan of shower games either, I understand what you mean.
Do you have any video games that YOU picked out? Maybe that could be a good compromise for you two when he wants to play something, play something that you like. I'm not sure what Xbox games you would enjoy, since the Xbox is marketed for the shooting games ... but I'm sure there is something out there.
If you ever have the extra money lying around (or put it on yoru christmas list), I bet you would really like a Wii. And that's something he would enjoy too. I love my wii. I don't play it nearly enough though.
Nerves for the wedding are fine. Stressed over having to deal with the crazy schedule this week. I posted a long update about it in Shar-Mar's thread. I should copy that over to here.
I can be a nervous wreck organising a dinner party, let along a wedding. I know some brides have been on sedatives the day of their weddings to help with the stress. I think I'd probably be like that too.
nah ... this is easy breezy. It's small and just family. I'm along for the ride. It'll be fun. I'm mostly just concerned for my dad. He's grumpy and I fear he will be grumpy the whole week.
My favorite video games are the Mario Party series, but Matt is tired of playing them.
I am not sure what Xbox games I like either. They don't even have Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy for the Xbox. I have played a couple of puzzle or strategy games in the Xbox Live arcade, but that's about it.
And we actually do own a Wii. I have never played it. To me it seems so dumb to be flinging controllers around everywhere having to do all the actions for games. I'd rather have a direction pad and A/B buttons.
Don't knock the Wii until you try it. It's less like a video game and more like the actual activity.
They're using them in seniors' residents as a way to give them physical exercise in a fun way when they otherwise couldn't--like bowling from a wheelchair.
oh they are fantastic.
And the new Wii fit program is being used for physical therapy, and can even count towards physical education in some schools.
I love my Wii. I should really play it more often.
When Brian was in inpatient rehab, they had daily "Wii-habilitation" time. LOL And billed the insurance company for occupational therapy.
LOL!!!
(At first I read that as impatient .... I couldn't figure out how they did rehab for someone who wasn't patient differently for someone who was.)
Well, this morning when I went to take a shower there was no hot water. Ugh... I hope just the pilot light is out and that it isn't truly broken. We already have a broken heater we need to fix before the weather gets any colder.
So my hair did not look so good today since I haven't washed it in several days so it lost all its body. My boss asked, "Why is your hair so straight today?"
So I decided that if my hair looked so bad I would just go get it washed and cut. So that is what I did. Right now my hair is flat but it is moosed and and stuff so it looks good. Hopefully it will flip out when I wash it myself.
So my parents were over for dinner last night. then after dinner my dad spent the whole evening on the computer playing while my mom visited with me and Josh and the kids. My dad will NEVER change.
Speaking of Water ... my water bill comes every 2 months. I always get nervous after about 6 weeks when I haven't received the bill yet. where is it? Why haven't I seen it? Did I forget to pay it? Is our water going to get shut off?? Then of course it comes in the mail in about a week and I can relax. It's really weird that they bill every 2 months instead of every month.
Well, it turns out it was just the pilot light out on the water heater, so that is good! One less thing to fix this month.
Yesterday at work I pinched some nerve in my upper back/shoulder/neck region. I don't understand why I do this to myself so often. I was just sitting there at work and then all of a sudden it hurt. Blah.
Hannah and Ike made it back to the Humane Society. After I took them I went to see the chiropractor. He said, "You are making me feel like it is 5 PM and I just got here." I said, "Yah, it is the crack of dawn, isn't it?" He asked me what I was doing up so I told him about taking back my foster kittens. He told me that he just adopted two kittens from there last night. If he would have waited one more day he could have had Hannah and Ike. That is kinda sad, because if he had them there is a chance I could have seen them again. Owell.
Today is the first time I have taken back kittens and they haven't weighed them on the spot to see if they weigh enough. They also didn't ask me if I had named the kittens, so I asked her if she would take down there names. Weird.
While I was there a lady came in carrying a small dog and crying because it was having trouble breathing last night. That is the first time I have ever seen someone bring in a sick pet while I was there. I never would have thought to take my sick pet to the humane society clinic.
