Might as well keep this thread alive for a few more weeks, then it'll be April again!

We're taking vacation part 1 in April this year. Any time but August works for me.

I'd love to be able to just fly up to AK and visit friends. Oh well. I'm just hoping to get through a Lenten Wednesday, which usually seems to be about 36 hours long. And my patience usually gives out by 2 pm.

I'm sayin' you can cross your fingers, but don't hold your breath......

Probably ain't gonna happen unless I win the lottery. I'll bet my chances would double---maybe even triple!!----if I bought a ticket.

Mmmmm well if my getting to go depends upon you gambling I guess I oughta say No thanks. I wouldn't want you to become addicted or anything and then blame me for your being broke. Has an image of Mona compulsively buying Lottery tickets mumbling "Gotta buy a winner for ezri! ezri wants to go to Alaska!" her hands all shaky and sweaty as she hands over her last dollar then scrounges in her purse for the change at the bottom so she can buy two tickets...

SCARY huh!

Wowzer! That sounds just like me.

Except I don't have a purse.

And I'm not buying lottery tickets, I'm in the waiting room of my accountant getting ready for him to tell me if I have to pay in taxes more taxes.

Otherwise, it's a perfect description of me.

An accountant? Wow---you must have a lot of $$$ to manage. Our taxes are ssoooooo simple. Two lines:

1--How much did you make?
2--Send it in.

They make it really simple for you when you don't have any money, stocks, bonds, savings, deductions,...........

Not that I'm cheap or anything but...

The last time I opened my purse to buy a lottery ticket, three moths flew out.

When my mom comes to visit we invariably have to go somewhere in her car- when we get in her car my children point out the lottery tickets and my mom starts grabbing them and shoving them under the seat. it is a funny thing to watch.

10yo: "nana? why are you wasting your money like that?" (only a 10yo can get away with a statement like that)

nana says: "It is for education you know!"

then I say: "Well then EDUCATION! you can just send me the 5.00 every time you get the urge- I assure you that we will use the money on something educational!"

then we all laugh and the next time we see her the same thing will happen.

Lots of crazy things happen in traveling. Just last week I was on a train. There was a woman traveling with a baby. UGLY baby! I mean, I'm not one to make comments about anyone's kid -- but this was an UGLY baby. A guy walks down the train -- he's half smashed -- and he stops. And he stares. And the lady says "What are you looking at?" The guy says "I'm looking at that ugly baby." A scene ensues, whereupon the conductor arrives. He says "What's going on here?" The woman says "This man just insulted me!" The conductor says "Now calm down Madam, calm down. We here at the railroad want to make sure that there are no altercations between our passengers and that everyone's trip is as relaxing as possible. Accordingly, if you allow us, please step into the dining car and the railroad will buy you a free meal. And maybe we can find a banana for your monkey."

I do it every day. You are supposed to do it a whole, whole lot when you watch the news!

Just go ahead and let them think they are winning by pretending that you will believe whatever you are told.

They don't think that way...did Hitler believe that his Nazis were pretending?

Fascist liberal types don't think that way.

We are so broke at this point. At this time next week our accounts may be filled, bills paid,...

It could happen if money due is paid on time.

Anyway, I'm just whining!

God has seen us through since hh quit Dumb-Mart and I'm sure we will be fine.

btw...get this! When employers started checking hh's references, hh's former regional manager got in touch with him through the Dumb-Mart manager here. She was armed with store asst. manager job offers from Idaho, Washington, and Oregon.

hh said no!
We will have our Jim/hh home on Sundays and Mondays as a normal situation. He stands an excellent chance of becoming the owner of this Radio Shack's "right hand man" judging from how well his job situation appears to be. He knows more about some areas of running the business than his employer does. That is always nice 'cause then you are deemed more valuable.

Hmmm...I need to keep my chin up. Today is only one day. One day is well...just one day.

Well, I think it's time to take the girl and the St. Patrick's Day crafts and mosey on back to meet my hh at the store.

See Ya later and don't let the 'gater gitya
