Well there are "bands", but they are more often than not a collection of highly skilled session musicians that are nameless, faceless hired guns to most fans. In much of contemporary urban or black gospel it's the soloist or vocal group that is the focus with musicians being relagated to background status. Considering the heritage of musicianship from the days of Motown to more recent bands such as EWF, The Gap Band, Ohio Players and even Living Colour; why aren't we seeing more urban instrumental groups?
