I guess I could be considered one. But not really. I like doing a lot of guy things, but I also like doing a lot of girl things. Like for me, I dirt bike, four wheel, snowmobiling. A lot of girls freak out if their hair gets messed...I dont. I honestly don't care. My hair is straight. So if it gets messed up, it goes back to being straight haha. But on my girly side, I like shopping (if i have the money. i don't like browsing the mall just to look), i like makeup, and i LOVE chick flicks. My future husband better sit down and watch some good old chick flicks with me. Or else. *flexes muscles* So what do you guys think about tom boys?

Once, I glimpsed my ideal woman. She had on scuffed-up, low-cut jeans and a beat-up cropped T whose "Reagan Conservative -- Get Used To It" lettering on the front had been mostly laundered away, and she had just slid out from under an old Ford F-350 diesel with the hood up. She was still balancing the hot, dripping oil filter in one hand. And she had a smile on her face. I walked over to say hi. Then... *POP* It was only a dream. Anyway... > So what do you guys think about tom boys? A++

First thing, I am older than dirt. If I had a granddaughter that was a tomboy who also loved Jesus with all her heart, that would be great!

it is a question of femininity, and some girls pull this off rather nicely.

Some women can be in jeans and workshirt, and just finished mucking teh stables and be perfectly feminine. Others can be dressed to the nines and still come across as a not feminine at all. It's an internal characteristic that shines out from them. I've always liked the tomboy type. She's got to be willing to play and gether hair messed up and get dirty sometimes. (Few things are as attractive as a pony tail pulled through a ball cap)

I really like tomboys, I mean to date. However, if I don't like her without make up then I won't date her, which is good because I will have to eventually see her without make up I guess. Its just that some tom girls don't really take care of themselves physically and it has turned me off before ( I mean from dating them) however, some tom girls haven't turned me off, even without make up. I once was around a tom girl I really liked. Then she started belching real loud. She did it so loud I started gaging. BTW, I am kinda a sensitive guy - which is one reason I like some tom girls. tom boy = tom girl = girl who is sporty/like guys.

I guess I'm not a straight up tom-boy. But it's like, I don't care doing guy things as well. Ya know?

I've always viewed the issue of tomboyishness like this: "I want a girlfriend, not another one of 'the guys'." Gentle and nourishing is a natural feminine characteristic. It isn't necessarily a bad thing if a girl wants to be rough or whatever, but it shouldn't be what defines them. I personally wouldn't be attracted to a woman that acted more like a dude than a chick, it would feel too much like dating a buddy instead of your significant other. But she couldn't be so feminine that she would whine if I got water on her or something. There is a line between too girly and too boyish. Girliness should definitely outweigh the boyishness, though. Femininity equals attractive. quote:

Very much so. But like, a lot of girls freak out if they get mud on their clothes or their hair gets messed up. I'm definitely not like that. I don't care if I get mud on myself or whatever. Haha.

Hello beachcooky Quite frankly, if I were young and single, I might just try to get to know you. You seem to be unihibited and confident that you are female. So, keep on boogying through life. I think you'll do okay.

Me personally, I'm not too crazy about either extreme. I prefer somewhere in between tomboyishness and ultra girlyness (for lack of a better expression ) I guess probably something like the way you described yourself. I think it's a cool when a girl gets into some of the stereotypical guy things, but I prefer her to be girly enough for me to actually remember that she is in fact a girl. I once dated a girl that would probably in that "in between" category and I feel like that's mostly what attracted me to her in the first place. (We broke up for reasons that had nothing to do with tomboyishness or lack of.)
