I think that shiatsu massage is good and has helped me a lot. I see a Chinese herbalist sometimes and she is amazing. She feels my body for heat and she can tell heaps by just the shape of my body. I don't see any harm in practising yoga for flexibility and general well-being. Once when I spoke about the harmlessness of yoga on here I had Benny Hinn telling me it was demonic. I like Benny Hinn, but I don't always agree with him and when people say things without basis; just blind superstition because they don't fully understand, or someone has baffled them with some far out explanation of a simple practice and they now feel threatened so they demonise it.
So if you have a comment, please give it some foundation otherwise it won't make sense to me. I mean we were given the herbs of the fields for healing (biblical), yet many Christians haven't a clue about herbs and alternative medicine.
The Chinese talk about the meridian (main part of the body through which the energy flows) and 5 elements and it has sound thinking behind it. I think if it is used for good and is honourable and pure and not used as an idol or a source upon which to depend, then it is good.

If it helps at all I do speak about my belief of Jesus Christ to the practitioner and am always ready to give account of my hope in Him.

There is something to it, it may be able to be backed up by medicine and research (the herbs). Acupuncture seems to work and they have known about it for years (maybe thousands?)
But the tai chi stuff, I am not sure.

It never fails to amazing me, how many people will write off Chinese medicine, with it's centuries of existence, as fake; but will put all their faith in taking some medicine that's only been around for a decade or two.

I think it has its place just like traditional Western medicine. They have done studies on accupuncture and have used it in surgeries instead of ansthesia. I think that as long as you know it is just medicine and not some god other than Christ working, then there should be no problem with it.
I know that in massage, you can really get into alot of things that are not what we as Christians believe, but if you are going in for a massage for tension, or pain, or just to increase blood circulation and remember that it is not some sort of god or let them pray to a god that is not our God over you, then no problem.
My massage therapist does do different types of therapy that I will not do because it does involve prayin and chanting. I just refuse that, but I won't stop going to her because she gives the best massages and that is all I am there for.

Like what kind of things that we don't believe? I don't know much about medicine but my therapist does not chant or pray or anything, she is quite clinical about it.

Doc did acupuncture on me before I left work tonight. I've had various alternative therapies and only once did I ever feel uncomfortable, and the lady that was administering the therapy was from my former church. Go figure. I haven't been back to her. But she's the only one that has ever even come close to making me uncomfortable.

I enjoy doing yoga stretches. I don't do chanting or meditation or anything like that, but the stretching/breathing exercises themselves feel great and are challenging and strengthening.
I'm completely open to herbal medicines. I'd much rather try that before synthetic drugs.
I'd try acupuncture and massage therapy for sure.

The only problem I have with Chinese medicine is that it calls itself medicine. The word remedy might be better because - unlike western medicine - it doesn't allow criticism or testing. All science is open to new theories and it's always ready to question its own results.
If a remedy is old, it doesn't make it necessarily better than new ways of healing. Western medicine changes all the time because there's new information available. A good example of methods western medicine gave up quite a while ago is venisection - a very old remedy but I've never heard anoyne wants it back. 
But if it works for people, I have nothing against it. Just the word medicine bothers me. :)

I am a strong believer in alternative medical treatments. I am unable to take the vast majority of medication on the market, and have gone to alternative practitioners for most of my life and never had any problem. Only good, positive experiences that have cured / treated / solved whatever issue I have sought advice on.
My experience has always been that they are concerned about treating the root cause of the issue, not masking it. Their belief is that the body more often than not is capable of healing itself, and that God has provided the herbs and plants for healing of physical ailments.
I have never once ever experienced or even heard of any alternative practitioner who prays to any little "g" god. In fact, my experiences have been with practitioners who are strong believers in the one and only God.

If it is old and still around it is for a reason. It has proven itself a herb with healing properties. Western medicine changes so much cause they rarely get it right.

I've always got help from western medicine, never from any alternative therapies. Thanks to an excellent surgeon I can walk today! But like I said, the main thing is that people get better.

I've practiced yoga. I found it no different than other relaxing, toning stretches. It was enjoyable and I should do it again. Nothing evil about it.
I've taken herbs. God created them. If they're taken carefully and properly, they can be wonderful.
I've had acupuncture (administered by my medical doctor) and it was interesting and relaxing. Definitely not dodgy. There was, in fact, absolutely nothing spiritual about it. I think there are still many things we do not understand about the human body and all of its functions and abilities. Just because we don't really fully understand something does not make it evil.
My parents have also had acupuncture, for pain relief. It helped them a great deal.
