Let's see.

The final season of ER. I tuned out the past few seasons but it will still be said to say good-bye. (Yes, I know technically it's not a new show, but it will feel like it to me.)

Life On Mars. I used to live in Britain, where it was a huge hit. I never saw it there, so I'm looking forward to seeing the American incarnation.

Crusoe. It looks gorgeous. According to the preview I saw a in a movie theater the other day, they actually filmed it on a tropical island. The lead actor was showing off his treehouse set, and said, "I wish I could live here!"

I have wanted to check out Pushing Daisies. Is it out on DVD yet?

Besides that, and since I work 2nd and have to watch my stuff on the internet, I am holding out for one show only . . .

HEROES!!!

Just watched the entire 2nd season in one sitting. Less holes that way . . .

Coming in mid-September. TV Guide had a dvd inside a couple of weeks ago with the pilot on it.

I'm really looking forward to the new season of Lost, but that's a winter (Jan.) premier.

Returning shows:
House
Bones
Pushing Daisies
Chuck
Heroes

New shows:
My Own Worst Enemy
Fringe

I WOULD have put True Blood on the "new shows" list but I think Alan Bell and HBO have ruined it.

Ah, yes. I'd forgotten about Gordon Ramsay. I like the look of his new show, too. Does make you wonder, though, if you'll ever eat in a restaurant again.

And "Worse Enemy' looks intriguing, too. Wasn't there an old Jimmy Stewart movie that was somewhat similar? A group of criminals kidnap him thinking he's a fellow criminal. Turns out he's not, and he spends the rest of the movie trying to outrun the baddies and discover who they're really looking for.

That doesn't sound like what I've heard about the premise. Here's TVGuide.com's synopsis:

The division between a suburban father and his superspy alter ego breaks down after an implant in his brain begins to malfunction, leaving his two identities fighting for dominance.

I think it sounds like a good fit for the Monday SF&F/Spy block on NBC, with "Chuck" and "Heroes" (both this show and Chuck would qualify as "lite" SF as well as spy shows).

I just meant the teaser, where it shows a gang of thugs on his doorstep and the hero saying, "Who, me? I don't who you're talking about!" That's pretty much the opener of the Stewart movie.

Oh, I love references to movies and other TV shows. I wonder if this show will do those often? One show I'm going to miss from the summer is Middleman. I haven't seen the last episode but I hear it's got tons of Star Trek references. Every week was like that. The week before it was Doctor Who and Die Hard. Of course Chuck did that from time to time too - my favorite was the Sandworm Halloween costume (from Dune).

The new show I'm looking forward to seeing is "The Mentalist" with Simon Baker. I have liked him in everything he's done.

I am looking forward to the return of "Friday Night Lights." That is a great family show which really doesn't have much to do with football. I'd watch Kyle Chandler in just about anything.

The last season of The Shield just started.

Other than that, Smallville and Heroes, though some of the stuff (dialog, plotlines) in Heroes is getting a bit ridiculous. I don't know if I'll be able to stick it out for the whole life of the show.

Dan, yeah, but you still think Smallville is on track? I'd take Heroes any day over Smallville. Espeically since Lana is still going to be there, at least part of the season.

I watch Survivor & CSI, but they are not my gotta see list.

But CSI is losing Grissom, so I don't think that I will be watching anymore.

I didn't start watching Smallville from the beginning, so I'm not as invested in it and I haven't cared too much if it's jumped the shark. I honestly can't even remember most of what happened last season.

I've been more disappointed with Heroes, because I thought it had a lot of potential, but it feels very dumbed down. Smallville just seems campy and overextended like so many other shows.

Can't wait for Amazing Race.

The only new show that I can think of that I want to watch and give a try is Crusoe.
