(CNN) -- The next large-scale military or terrorist attack on the United States, if and when it happens, may not involve airplanes or bombs or even intruders breaching American borders. Instead, such an assault may be carried out in cyberspace by shadowy hackers half a world away. And Internet security experts believe that it could be just as devastating to the U.S.'s economy and infrastructure as a deadly bombing. Full Article

I think my computer gets attacked on a daily basis, or maybe I just feel that way because I am technically challenged. Thanks RC

I tried opening your article but (no lie) my internet security program wouldn't let me. Looks like the hackers got to it first!

Full Article I've been hearing a lot about this, especially with operatives from China, hacking into The Pentagon's databases, or at some other major U.S. military installation.

If general public knew how easy it is to hack, they would freak.

no surprise at all... it's almost always the enemy from within that destroys anything.

It's always astounded me how much ignorance is viewed as a form of security. With all the talk about security, ignorance still seems to be viewed as a primary tool. Maybe 25 years go that might have worked -- at least more than it does today. Maybe it stilll works to a great degree with people who are above the age of 40. But today? More 15 year olds (than we care to think about), who have an affinity and some spare time, can hack.

Hmm. It's very interesting that the most successful IT companies have been run by the marketing types rather than by the technical types. Techies no doubt are great at understanding technology, but it's been my experience that being a techie or even anything close to it is not a precursor to great leadership. Far from it in fact. Most techies tend to get bogged down in detail and really struggle to see the big picture so necessary for a leader to perceive. What's required for good leadership is someone who appreciates his/her people and their skills and input and who knows how to leverage that.

Now this is what they said before 9/11 happened. While a cyber attack shouldn't be taken lightly, we still should not discount the probabillity of a traditional terrorist attack at all.
