There is a couple at my church and they are now engaged after five weeks of dating/courting. I don't know how well they knew each other before they started dating/courting. Does anyone know of couples who have had very short pre-marital relationships before getting engaged?

I got married 8 weeks after we began dating, but, we knew each other for several years before we became romantically interested.

We got engaged in four months, however, to be sure it was right we set the wedding date for about a year away.

I wouldn't recommend this for everyone, but my husband and I knew eachother for 3 weeks before we got married. It's been close to 2 years now and it's great! My parents got married after 5 weeks and it's been 23 years for them! Quick is not always a bad thing. Some people just know. When are your friends planning on getting married?

He asked me to marry him three weeks after we met. We were married 6 months later. I was still in high school (we were 17 and 19). That was 29 years ago and we're still married.

We were aquaintances for 2 years, got engaged three weeks after our first date and married a year later. He knew he wanted to marry me after 3 days. We just celebrated our one month anniversary!

My hubby and I married 8 weeks after meeting. It's been 3 wonderful years and I'm looking forward to a lot more. Like Josie, I wouldn't recommend that for everybody but for us it was a sure thing. We knew without a doubt that the Lord had brought us together for the purpose of marriage.

Wife and I have been married 38 years and we never even had a date with each other and new each other only casually. She started writing me while I was in the service.Wrote just a few letters back and forth and I proposed by letter. Flew her back to Virginia we were married Oct 16 and on the 19th I went out to sea for 6 months.

It was 10 months from our first date until our wedding. We were engaged around 10 weeks. We will celebrate 4 great years of marriage in October. We were both in our 30's and knew what we wanted in a marriage. Some people thought we were almost too business-like in the practical side of the relationship but it really focused us and convinced us we would be a great match. We still are great together. Karen
