I would like to introduce you to a dear friend and the newest resident here in the PFY Neighborhood........Everyone welcome Esther!
Welcome to the Belfry!
A long, long time ago I was feeling very, very crazy. My brain and heart were extremely confused, anxious and panicky and piled right on top of all the other things I worried about was being insane and of no use to God. Crying out for wisdom and mercy to the Father did not bring wisdom or the answers I felt I needed. But God DID answer…with the following scripture.
2 Corinthians 5:12-13
We are not commending ourselves to you again but giving you cause to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who boast about outward appearance and not about what is in the heart. For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
A thought that was smarter than me (and therefore likely from God ) burst into my mind: God would be perfectly satisfied to use me in a state of insanity! That worry could be put aside, and the decisions and actions I felt necessary in the absence of wisdom could be left to God to unravel.
And then came the realization that the passion that drove me to be beside myself should be God Himself…not all the worries and concerns and life-altering puzzles nor even my own deeply ingrained sinfulness.
Further, decisions and actions I took based on that passion might look crazy to other people, but He would know my heart, and that’s what mattered.
From that moment on I had a new name…”besiderself”.
I may be crazy…but then again, I may not. And whether I am or not, God may actually be using me to speak to others’ lives.
This is also true for you, Dear Reader. If you’re feeling the insanity, join us here. Your insanity will bless us, and ours may bless you.
I’ll be posting all kinds of things here: my to-do lists for the day (one way I hold off the insanity). My favorite songs…linked to sound files whenever possible. Thoughts about my Bible reading. Whining, venting and complaining—hopefully seldom but offered to God here to use as He sees fit. Stories about my children, students and other funny things that happen. Brainstorms, ramblings, quotes…chaos.
Feel free to do the same! Keep it flame free and safe…

Yeah...I don't like numbers. But what I want is a bulleted list. When I follow the PGD code, the bullets and indents appear in the preview, but then not in the actual post. Can you shed any light on this, Ed?

Yeah...I don't like numbers. But what I want is a bulleted list. When I follow the PGD code, the bullets and indents appear in the preview, but then not in the actual post. Can you shed any light on this, Ed?

That is just soooo wrong!
All right...someone tell me why my bulleted list isn't showing up in my post, when it shows up in the preview just fine????
