One of my flatmates happens to be a guy and at the start he seemed really standoffish towards me. I started to talk with him and he seemed more comfortable -even if it was a few words. However, one morning when I was seriously not in the mood to impress any soul nor talk to anyone, he came in said hi and I just grumped it and didn't look at him, lol (This, I must say is not usual, amen!) For several weeks, he just ignored me and gave me the cold shoulder. Then, a few days ago, I asked him if he had been away for sometime (didn't see him in the house). Apparently, he was around, but didn't notice. From then on, he was happier and making an effort to talk-even if it was just hi, how are you?! Is this an ego related incident? lol

Hi BeautifulFemale,
What a unique name! I'm going to change mine to Chocolate or something like that. Chocolate Cheesecake. Probably not, but its now an idea. Thanks! I think.

This could perhaps be Standoffish's (I know that's not Stand of Fishes, anyway) first time living in a flat of girls and guys. Or maybe he's the oldest and has a younger sister but not known many females his own age. He could have just come off a rough relationship with a high school sweetheart, and now he's got to live around another female while he works through things.

I'd call it a smart move, not really ego-related, just the smartness of the male gender so little credited. You appeared to want some space, and your impression is honored. Later, when things appear to have settled back down, a possible flatmate friendship building can continue.

Supposing you find this guy somewhat intriguing, well, remember there could be a Stands With Fist out there. When Stand Of Fish meets Stands With Fist, there could be fireworks, so what am I saying... don't get led on or do any leading, kwim?

MAN of Chocolate...It's interesting you say this because you are not the first to say he has stand offish ways! He's been in the house the longest so he probably hates the newness of fresh bread! I've been living there 3 months and we've probably hardly made one sentence conversation yet. He seems to love his tv room. Weird, but at least I don't get any trouble from him or the others I'm living with. Life goes on...:)
